Thanks for writing a good article, E. Winston: AGENT PROVOCATEUR & THE ABUSE OF POWER

AGENT PROVOCATEUR & THE ABUSE OF POWER

By  Emanuel A. Winston, Mid East Analyst & Commentator

After the slaughter of 8 students at the Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva in Jerusalem  on Thursday night March 6th, the students were justifiably enraged. Reports on Israeli TV said that "the students were plotting revenge on some unnamed Muslim Arab Palestinian leader". What the Israeli government should have been doing to protect the Israeli people, the kids felt was left up to them. Regrettably, the government's ineptitude and forfeit of responsibility leaves self-defense up to her citizens.

Apparently, a spy was planted for some time among the students, to report back to Shabak. Some will remember how Shabak (Israel's Secret Services) worked with Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres.

At their orders, Shabak employed Avishai Raviv, code-named Champagne, to act as an "agent provocateur" among the students. His assignment was to encourage students to act out against Palestinians and even against then Prime Minister Rabin so Rabin could claim the political and religious right was a real danger to the State.

It was Raviv who provoked Yigal Amir to attempt to shoot Rabin in a staged, fake shooting - except it turned out that, while Amir thought his gun had blanks, someone else's gun did not and Rabin was assassinated. Apparently, there were politicians of his own political party, perhaps Shimon Peres, who wanted Rabin out of the way. The follow-on investigation by (ret) Judge Meir Shamgar was similar to the recent Winograd Commission investigation. Avishai Raviv (Champagne) was never formally charged nor was there any inquiry of consequence into the actions of the Head of Shabak. Someone got away with murder and pinned it on Amir.

Planting "Agents Provocateurs" among the people has continued, mostly because Israeli governments need to provoke the people into believing it is the political and religious Right, not the Arab Muslim Palestinians who are the problem. Unfortunately, the once admired Shabak has allowed itself to become a political instrument for successive Leftist governments.

If that were not bad enough, the current Minister of Education, Yuli Tamir (a rabid Leftist in Shalom Achshav - Peace Now) insisted on coming to the Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva after the massacre. The Yeshiva heads told her to stay away. This woman hates the religious of Israel and has cut their education budgets drastically - especially compared to the budgets for the secular schools of higher education. But, Yuli Tamir came anyway as a "Provocateur", while knowing she would be shouted at and called "traitor" which is exactly what she wanted. She deliberately provoked a scene to demonstrate "how these religious students are dangerous to this government". Unconfirmed reports indicated that a student, still in mourning and enraged for his dead friends, kicked her leg or her behind.

Indeed, they are dangerous to an Un-Jewish government which has proven itself dedicated to re-partitioning the Jewish State and the Jewish Land - which they do not own. The incompetence of the Olmert Government is well known. Foreign Minister Tzippi Livni, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Shimon Peres as President and Dorit Beinish as Head of the Supreme Court (having replaced Aharon Barak) - are all radical Leftists who act out their hate of religious Jews and the G-d given Land they walk on.

The Olmert Government couldn't allow the sympathy of the people and the world to drift over to the observant Jews merely because they were slaughtered while studying Torah Law. The Olmert Government felt it had to create a counter-balance by using an "Agent Provocateur" planted among the students to show they were undeserving of genuine sympathy for being so ruthlessly attacked.

Clearly, Education Minister Yuli Tamir was not only well-informed of the ploy but decided to play her own role.

Recall that the first thing out of PM Olmert's mouth after the massacre was that "the peace talks will not be halted". Strangely, those were the same words that Rabin and Peres used after the Oslo Accords were signed on September 13, 1993 and whenever the Arab Muslim Palestinians committed a large Terror attack. These were the dedicated apologists for Palestinian Terror as they strived to re-partition the Jewish homeland into a two-state solution - including the division of Jerusalem - Israel's Eternal capital. There are many Leftists who want a "One-State Solution" to include absorbing 4 to 5 million Muslim Arab Palestinians into "One-State for both Jews and Muslims".

This Olmert government is a "killer government" of the worst kind. We watch in horror as they disregarded the thousands of missiles launched from the Hamas stronghold in Gaza after Sharon and Olmert surrendered the 21 communities of Gush Katif/Gaza, evacuated 10,000 men, women and children, destroyed their hand built homes, gardens, farms, unique technological innovative growing vegetables, fruits and flowers in the sand, the businesses, schools, synagogues and even their cemeteries.

More than 7000 missiles have been launched into Israel from Gaza since 2000 and Yassir Arafat's second Intifada. Clearly, Israel is enduring its Third Intifada while Olmert tells her citizens "Get used to it." Yes, he actually said this to the people of Ashkelon.

When the improved missiles reached the port city of Ashkelon and some of the Leftist Kibbutzim the Leftist Olmert Government suddenly took notice. Olmert allowed the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) to hit the Terrorists in Gaza and yet pulled out in 2½ days - before the American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice landed. Little was accomplished as the as Olmert groveled to obey Rice and the Rockets kept falling.

How then is the Olmert Government different from the East German Stasi, the KGB, the Mukabarat of Iran - all of whom implanted "Agents Provocateurs" among their people? How did the once admired Shabak or even the valiant Israeli Police become so politicized that the people they were there to protect became their adversaries? How did the Court system of Israel become the cats' paw of the Leftist reminiscent of Germany's once-admired Court system until Hitler got his hands on them? As they failed the nation, so too have the Leftists failed the people of Israel.

Olmert, and those before him, shamed the office of Israeli Prime Minister with these dirty dealings and political tricks to avoid going to prison.

I have no doubt that there will come a day when the Israeli people will rise up in fury to take back their government and put to trial all those who abused their power.
