President Barack Obama is the most dogmatic and dangerous leftist we have ever seen in this country.  He is not hard to understand.  Obama is very simple.  All his ideas were frozen in concrete about a hundred years ago by Marxist-Leninism around 1920.  In Dreams from My Father, Obama celebrates third-world Socialism, but that's just Marxist-Leninism with a racial overlay.  Obama's ideas are all old and discredited.  They have failed from the Soviets to Cambodia.  North Korea is facing another mass famine today, so terrible that it can't even feed its own army.  That is yet another failure of Marxist-Leninism.  Over and over and over again.  For radicals it doesn't matter.  You have to break a lot of eggs to make that omelet.
Just as Jimmy Carter kicked over the Shah, a crucial pillar of support for American and Israeli security thirty years ago, Obama has just done with Egypt.  By forcing Mubarak to resign, Obama has sabotaged the Egypt-Israel peace treaty of the last 30 years.
Turkey has also radicalized, and nobody in the American media seems to be taking notice.  They must know the facts, but they are not telling us.
The United States is standing by or actively sabotaging the moderate Arab states while Turkey and Egypt fall into the "Death to Israel!" camp.  Those are the three biggest states, with three of the most modern armies in the Muslim world.  It means that some 200 million people from moderate or friendly states have joined the rejectionist camp, and that Obama has actually reversed the progress toward peace made in 30 years.
It is significant that Jimmy Carter hasn't said a word about the breakdown of a treaty he "negotiated" (or rather, Anwar Sadat and Menahim Begin did), which is the only foreign policy success of his presidency.  Jimmy Carter being who he is, his silence speaks volumes.  Carter is now a Hamas and Hezb'allah supporter.  The only formal peace treaty of the last 30 years will be a dead letter if the Muslim Brotherhood takes over Egypt.
The window of opportunity for attacking Iran's fast-moving nuclear and missile development has now closed. Permanently and conclusively. This is equivalent to the Allies in World War II allowing Hitler to develop nuclear weapons and long-range missiles.  In the field of nuclear proliferation, if you don't preempt, you are enabling proliferation.  Obama has now reversed sixty years of American and Western efforts to reverse rogue nuclear proliferation.  The horse of Armageddon is out of the barn.
Read that sentence again if you didn't quite get it the first time, because it's the biggest, wildest gamble an American president has ever taken.
It is a world catastrophe, and as far as I can tell, it has been done with malice aforethought. 
At the same time, Obama has demanded, in public, that Israel give up defensible borders.  The so-called "1967 borders" are in fact the ceasefire lines of the 1948 War of Independence, which left Israel nine miles wide at the waist.  Obama has therefore actively legitimized sixty years of radical Islamist assaults designed to destroy Israel.
Since he is not stupid, and is well-educated, this must be purposeful.
When Obama publicly pushed Mubarak out of power, in the most flagrant act of public imperialism since the Soviets invaded Czechoslovakia, scuttlebutt is that there was a heated argument with Hillary behind the scenes.  Obama must have been told what he was really doing in pushing over the biggest pillar of peace in the Middle East.  I'll bet he was told a hundred times by Admiral Mullen and General Petraeus, even by Hillary, and he did it anyway.  Malice aforethought.
Obama is thereby active aiding and abetting the whole "Death to Israel!" movement in the Muslim world.  The mullahcracy in Tehran celebrated the fall of the Egypt-Israel peace treaty, by sending two modern warships through the Suez Canal, where their anti-ship missiles can now deny maritime superiority to American and NATO vessels in the Eastern Mediterranean, where Israel happens to live.  At the same time, another phony "peace flotilla" against Israel's coast is being organized, with Code Pink and Hamas elements involved.  One of the ships is named The Audacity of Hope -- against which Obama has made no public protest.  It is filled with Obama's personal and political friends, just like the last one was.  Egypt is no longer enforcing the arms blockade against Gaza, so that Hamas will get a flow of missiles if the "peace" flotilla succeeds.  The Israeli Navy that protects the coast is now vulnerable to Chinese anti-ship missiles positioned in Egypt, Gaza, and Lebanon.

Lt. Col (ret) Chuck Devore projects a coming blockade against Israel's two main Mediterranean ports, cutting the major lifeline to Israel's economy.  Egypt has stopped natural gas deliveries already.

Against American Jews, Obama is running his usual Big Lie game.  Liberal Jews are falling for it, because they never look at facts.  They just listen to the feel-good rhetoric. When war comes, they will blame the victim, because they will not be able to face themselves.
These moves will no doubt lead to a major war in the Middle East, which DeVore predicts for September of this year.  The purpose of Obama's moves, at best, is to put so much murderous pressure on Israel as to force major territorial concessions to the radical rejectionist front.  That will put Obama in the driver's seat.  By forcing Israel's back to the wall, Obama and the left (in cahoots with radical Islamists) believe they can dictate a "permanent peace."  
Obama wants to be the hero who created peace, forever and ever, in the Middle East.  So long as Israel is prepared to surrender as a defensible nation.
In the worst case, Obama is prepared to see the violent destruction of Israel.  That's what he is gambling with, along with a giant hole in NATO defenses in the eastern Mediterranean and Europe.  Obama is a high-stakes gambler with other people's lives.
This leaves Netanyahu and the Israeli government in a deadly double-bind.  Israel's back is against the wall.  Its strongest option is to go nuclear when Iran does.  Israel can do that simply by (a) making an official statement that it is a nuclear power, or (b) follow India and Pakistan thirty years ago by exploding a bomb.  However, if it makes either of those moves, Obama and the United States will turn against Israel at the United Nations, and place nuclear maniac Iran on the same moral footing as modern and democratic Israel.  Israel has consistently avoided revealing its nuclear power to avoid just this kind of dilemma.
One rational choice open to Israel is to defy Obama and attack Iran directly -- Iran being the most suicidal regime since World War II Japan.  Throughout human history there has never been a suicidal ideology equipped with nuclear weapons and missiles.  In the next six months it will probably happen.  When it does, the United States will do nothing.  The Arabs will go nuclear to protect themselves against Iran's Shiite imperialism armed with a martyrdom creed and Armageddon weapons.
Since Israel's nuclear weapons are only to be used as a last resort, it is possible that Israel will turn them against its most dangerous and suicidal tormentor, Iran.  With thirty years to prepare, no doubt Israel has thoroughly explored that Samson Option.  However, Obama is quite capable of using the US military to protect Iranian nuclear weapons, rather than trying to stamp them out.
Nuclear proliferation to the Arab states is now a certainty.  The Sunni Arabs are far more afraid of Iranian aggression than they fear Israel.  Israel has no aggressive intentions, and they all know it.  The Arabs never felt they needed nukes before.  But when Iran gets its nukes and missiles, the Saudis and Gulf Arabs will import them from Pakistan, possibly along with Pakistani army units in case of Iranian ground invasion.  Iran's Shiite radicals believe they should control the two holy cities of Mecca and Medina, and during the Khomeini years, they tried to overthrow the Saudi monarchy during the hajj.
The Pentagon has just released a humiliating admission that Obama's vaunted anti-missile defense for Europe against Iranian missiles  is never going to work.  George W. Bush negotiated workable anti-missile missiles in Poland and the Czech Republic, in the path of Iranian missiles to Europe's capital cities.  Obama sabotaged that plan, leaving Aegis naval ships in various places as a fig leaf.  The Pentagon has admitted that Europe is now undefended.  Obama's purpose may be to force Europe to turn against Israel at the United Nations.
The Iranians are blatantly celebrating, and they are now explaining that both the Little Satan and the Great Satan (the United States) will soon be at their mercy.
This is Obama's Final Solution to the Jewish problem.  Charles Krauthammer has defined it eloquently, but not completely.
Israel is now surrounded by lethal enemies on all sides.  Egypt has collapsed.  Lebanon has surrendered to Hezb'allah.  Iran and Syria are in cahoots to achieve Khomeini's absolutist aims.  Israel's Mediterranean coast is now threatened by Chinese anti-ship missiles, and its two lifeline ports are vulnerable to a blockade.  Even Jordan is in the grip of a struggle among radical Islamists, Bedouins, and Palestinians.  If all of Israel's enemies launched their missiles at the same time, the only option for Israel would be to go nuclear.
If Obama wanted to deliberately sabotage American power and Western security in the Middle East, he could have done nothing more destructive.  What Obama has done to the American economy, he has now done to the Middle East.  The only rational purpose for this strategic sabotage is to place all the decision power in Obama's own hands.  The irrational purpose, if there is one, is to destroy the security of the United States and its closest allies in the Middle East and southern Europe.  
All of America's allies, including Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea, must be worried sick.  If the United States destroys its own European defenses, what is to stop it from destroying its Asian defenses?  Just as the Arab countries will soon go nuclear, so will Japan, South Korea, and possibly Taiwan.
By meeting with Ahmadinejad, Russia and China have jumped on what they judge to be the winning side.  They have been sitting on the fence, because they don't want an Islamic martyr regime with nukes next door.  Iran is only one hour's flight by airplane from Russia.  Yet today, they have switched to an active pro-Iranian position.  It is the biggest communist gamble since World War II and Mao's Great Leap Forward.
Obama's only skill is to be a community agitator, Alinsky-style.  To that end he has his own house Jews, like Southern plantations used to have their own house blacks.  They pop up all over leftist fronts like J Street and other fronts.  The media try to legitimize those frauds, just like they legitimized a small minority of radical feminists decades ago.
What we are seeing today with Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin today is a "high-tech lynching," just as Clarence Thomas said at his Senate hearing about the way the media abused him with rumors of sexual misbehavior.  High-tech lynching.  Keep that in mind, because that's who these people are.  They don't lynch people by accident, but with a very clear purpose.  They are ruthless, and they have no decency.  Domestically their purpose is to intimidate you and me, just as the KKK did in the Jim Crow South.
Media lynchings create an atmosphere of fear by hanging specific scapegoats from a tree.  Watch it happen to Palin, Bachmann, Herman Cain, and everybody who becomes uppity against Obama.  That is how the left aims to win a second term that Obama desperately wants
Obama's Jewish problem is the existence of millions of Jews who feel loyal to (a) a genuine belief in God, or (b) a genuine love for Israel, or (c) both. 
Obama is fine with self-labeled Jews if they are atheist leftists, and they are willing to risk Israel being erased from the planet.  Some of his best friends are Jews In Name Only, JINOs, so long as they are detached from Israel.  And other religions, natch.
For Obama, America and Israel should not exist.  They get in the way of his utopian nightmares.  That's Obama's Final Solution to the Jewish Problem.
It's also his solution to every other problem.
Obama is fundamentally a very simple, extreme ideologue.  He has only one answer.
Everything Obama does comes straight from the most stilted and destructive clichés of the left.  The man has never had an original idea in his life, and wouldn't recognize one if it were served up on a plate with arugula.  He is intellectually locked in concrete.
Free nations and free faiths are still the targets of the totalitarian left, because America and Israel prove them wrong every day they survive and thrive, and make life better for millions of people.  The signs now look more dangerous than they have in the last sixty years.  The totalitarian left is on the march again, with Islamic radicalism as its ally.
Israel's fate is therefore our own future as well

Ehud Barak’s Theater of the Absurd

There was no need to endanger Israeli troops.
How could Ehud Barak not see the looming disaster? Stopping a large Gaza-bound ship could have been carried out below the waterline, or by an assault on the bridge, using smoke bombs and tear gas to take control. Dropping individual soldiers into a mob of hostile people lacks reason.
The confrontation could have been handled with moach (brains) rather than koach (brawn). But that’s not Barak’s way: his history of misusing power and his lack of leadership goes back to the Yom Kippur War, at the least.
In 1973, Barak botched a rescue operation during the “Chinese Farm” battle ^[1] near the Suez Canal and failed to rescue soldiers under the command of General Yitzhak Mordechai.
In 1982, during Operation Peace for Galilee — in which Israel attacked PLO and terrorist groups in Lebanon — Barak commanded the IDF in the eastern region of South Lebanon. He ordered an attack at Sultan Yakoub, in which Israeli soldiers were ambushed by Syrian army commandos and PLO guerilla units. Overpowered and suffering heavy losses, the IDF unit repeatedly begged for help to rescue them. Barak failed to respond. In that battle, 23 IDF soldiers were killed and three were captured: Zachary Baumel, Zvi Feldman, and Yehuda Katz. Missing in action, their fate is still unknown.
Five years later, when the “first intifada” broke out, Defense Minister Yitzhak Rabin assigned Ehud Barak, Amram Mitzna, and Dan Shomron — whose political views trumped military necessity — to quell the rebellion. They failed miserably. This not only encouraged Palestinian terrorists, especially Fatah and Hamas, but led to the PLO’s rehabilitation and the disastrous Oslo Accords in 1993, which Barak implemented.
According to Reuven Pedatzur, writing in Haaretz on November 5, 2000:

On the eve of the Gulf War [1990], a decision to scuttle the project [to purchase submarines] was taken at the IDF General Staff: that is, to leave the navy without any submarines at all. Only the stricken conscience of Helmut Kohl, the German chancellor, after the extent of German aid to the Iraqis became known, led to the decision to fund the submarines. Thus, it was German money that saved the submarine project. …
The General Staff’s decision is cause for concern because all those who took part in the discussion knew very well, based on intelligence estimates, that within a small number of years Israel would be threatened by nuclear weapons. It is difficult to fathom how those who are supposed to be familiar with and to understand strategic thinking in the modern era decided to give up the strategic potential inherent in submarines.
[The] person who led the opposition to building the submarines in that discussion, and the person whose position prevailed in the end, was none other than the person who served at the time as deputy chief of staff, Ehud Barak.

In 1992, during a training exercise at the Tze’elim base, a missile hit a unit by mistake, killing five soldiers and seriously wounding six more. Watching this tragedy, Barak did nothing to help and refused to allow his helicopter to be used in the rescue operation. He was severely criticized for his behavior.
As prime minister in 1999, Barak gave away the entire gas and oil fields off the Gaza coast to the PA … for nothing, and without conditions. He never explained his decision.
In May 2000, Barak ordered a retreat from South Lebanon. Although the action was debatable, the chaotic manner in which it was carried out and the abandonment of the SLA has been widely condemned. Barak’s action gave Hezbollah its first victory.
At Camp David and Taba in 2000, Barak offered Yassir Arafat nearly all of the area conquered in the 1967 Six Day War, including most of eastern Jerusalem, without understanding that Arafat was planning a major terrorist insurgency.
Barak not only failed to anticipate the second intifada in 2000 when it broke out, but failed to put it down decisively.
In October 2000, at the outbreak of the second intifada war, Arabs attacked Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem (Nablus). An IDF soldier, Madkat Yusuf, was trapped inside, critically wounded, and the unit was under fire. Prime Minister Barak and Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz refused to rescue the soldiers and Yusuf bled to death.
After resigning in 2001, Barak went into business, using his name and contacts to amass a small fortune. According to a report ^[2] in Haaretz by Gidi Weitz and Uri Blau, in 2002 Barak formed a company, “Ehud Barak, Ltd,” which quickly made (up to that time) almost NIS 30 million. They also reported:

As prime minister and former chief of staff, Barak receives more than MIS 400,000. In addition the state funded his bureau at a cost of NIS 3.2 million in 2004 and NIS 1.8 million in 2005.

They estimated Barak’s total annual income at NIS 10 million. Barak was involved in a number of companies and hedge funds. His business interests today are held by members of his family.
Barak was an enthusiastic supporter of the disengagement from Gaza and Northern Shomron in 2005, which displaced 9,000 Israelis and led to Hamas’ takeover of the Gaza Strip.
In October 2009, Globes carried a major expose of Barak’s financial connections. That year, Barak spent a million NIS of Defense Ministry funds on a Paris weekend for himself, his wife, and staff.
In January 2009, as defense minister, Barak was directly responsible for the Cast Lead operation in Gaza, which was carried out in the shadow of the failures of the Second Lebanon War and the looming elections. While the action to stop terrorists and missile bombardment was necessary, it resulted in the Goldstone Report and international condemnation. Hamas remained in power, more smuggling tunnels were built, and Gilad Shalit is still in captivity.
At the Herzliya Conference in 2010, Barak offered unilateral withdrawal and begged the PA to assume power in Judea and Samaria. Otherwise, he warned, “Israel was in danger of becoming an apartheid nation.” This ignores serious security issues, denies reality, and substitutes nightmares instead of critical thinking.
Barak’s defeatism and arrogance, his political agenda, and his poor military judgment are simply not in Israel’s interests. PM Netanyahu may need the Labor Party for his coalition, but why does it have to include Ehud Barak?

Last week the Defense Ministry published the results of a tender for the acquisition of leasing vehicles for IDF officers. Several companies received contracts. Officers holding the rank of lieutenant colonel or above will receive a Hyundai Accent car produced by a factory located in Turkey. Millions of Israeli dollars will thereby be pumped into the Turkish economy by Israel's Defense Ministry.

| As reported by the Jerusalem Post on June 9, 2010, the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (ITIC) has revealed the close ties between the most violent operatives from Turkey’s jihadist IHH organization on board the Mavi Maramara ship, and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his ruling AKP government.

Salient details of these connections from the ITIC analysis — based upon statements given by Mavi Maramara passengers after the vessel was towed to the port of Ashdod last week, as well as findings from IHH members’ computers seized by the Israel Defense Forces — included:

• The Mavi Maramara was purchased by the IHH from a major shipping company owned by the Istanbul Municipality, which is operated by the governing AKP party. A computer file showed that the IHH purchased the Mavi Maramara from a Turkish company called IDO, which was founded in 1987 by the city of Istanbul, an AKP-run municipality. “It is not conceivable that the IHH’s Gaza operation could have been carried out absent high-level government sanction,” as per Svante Cornell, a Swedish scholar specializing on politics and security issues in Eurasia.

• The passengers, including the IHH operatives, maintained that there were close relations between the organization and Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan, and that the Turkish government was involved in preparations for the flotilla.

• Files found in laptops seized from IHH members contained a letter written in Turkish from IHH head Bülent Yildirim to Turkish President Abdullah Gül. The letter requested Gul’s assistance in efforts to release an IHH operative, named Izzat Shahin, from an Israeli prison. Sahin was arrested by Israeli security forces in the West Bank on April 27 on suspicion of transferring cash to Hamas under the guise of charitable aid. He had since been deported from Israel “at the request of Turkish officials.”

• A journalist on board the Mavi Maramara, described as having good links with the heads of the Turkish government and Bulent Yildirim, head of the IHH, had stated, “The flotilla was organized with the support of the Turkish government and Prime Minister Erdogan gave the instructions for it to set sail. That was despite the fact that everyone knew it would never reach its destination.”

• The IHH operatives acted according to a clearly defined internal hierarchy and boarded the ship in the port of Istanbul without undergoing a security inspection, as opposed to the other passengers who boarded in Anatolia after a full inspection.

• The IHH operatives’ preparations included handing out walkie-talkies as they boarded the ship, taking over the upper deck, setting up a situation room for communications, and a briefing given to them two hours before the confrontation by IHH head Bülent Yildirim, who was on board the ship and commanded his men.

• On June 4, 2010, Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI)  released footage of a speech made by Bulent Yildirim, head of IHH, in Gaza during February of 2009.Yildrim’s  utterances, which were peppered with references to “martyrdom,” included the statement, “All the peoples of the Islamic world would want a leader like [Turkish prime minister] Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.”

Independent reports confirm that this same violent Mavi Maramara contingent, while in transit, chanted, “Khaybar, Khaybar ya Yahud, jaish Muhammad sa ya ‘ud”(“Jews, remember Khyabar, the army of Muhammad is returning”). This is a classic motif of Islamic Jew hatred which celebrates Muhammad’s massacre, rapine, enslavement, and subjugation of the last bastion of Arabian Jewry free from Muslim domination. The survivors were relegated, at best, to the humiliating status of prototype dhimmis — non-citizen tributaries, and pariahs in their own former lands.
Moreover, following the deadly violence that erupted after the Mavi Maramara’s IHH jihadists attacked Israeli commandos enforcing the Gaza blockade, Prime Minister Erdogan stepped up his incendiary rhetoric against Israel, while encouraging the tens of thousands of Turks who have taken to the streets of Istanbul each day vilifying Israel and praising Gaza’s Hamas jihadist rulers. And after recalling Turkey’s ambassador from Tel Aviv, Turkish President Abdullah Gul opined that relations with Israel would “never be the same.”
Why would Erdogan and the AKP support — clandestinely, and now openly — an IHH movement redolent with jihadism (including links to al-Qaeda) and Jew hatred, while sundering relations with Israel?
A seven-page report released in late January of this year by the Israeli Foreign Ministry (i.e., its “Center for Political Research”) accurately highlighted Erdogan’s personal role in fomenting anti-Semitism among the Turkish populace — particularly, his granting legitimacy to anti-Israeli television programs (Valley of the Wolves) and newspapers (Vakit) rife with blatant anti-Semitic content. The report concluded, aptly:

For Erdogan, Israel-bashing is a way of bolstering his status with Islamic and Middle Eastern states, which Turkey would like to lead, and against the Turkish opposition, as well as with his own party’s target audience and nationalist elements of the Turkish public. For Erdogan and some of those around him there is no distinction between “Israeli” and “Jewish,” and therefore, [their] anti-Israel fervor and criticism become anti-Jewish.

Although it provides a useful introduction, the Israeli Foreign Ministry report fails to elucidate any of the critical doctrinal and historical context reflected in Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan’s attitudes. Erdogan and his ruling AKP’s posture toward Israel and Jews represents the apotheosis of Islamic Jew hatred manifest in Turkey for a half-millennium. It has been revitalized during the past 50 years by an indigenous Muslim fundamentalist movement eager to exploit both the traditional anti-Semitic motifs of Islam, and those of European origin — especially  Nazi and Czarist Russian (i.e., The Protocols of the Elders of Zion).
In 1974, Erdogan, while serving as president of the Istanbul Youth Group of his mentor, former Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan’s National Salvation Party, wrote, directed, and played the leading role in a theatrical play entitled Maskomya, staged throughout Turkey during the 1970s. Mas-Kom-Ya was a compound acronym for “Masons-Communists-Yahudi” — the latter meaning “Jews.” The play focused on the evil, conspiratorial nature of these three entities whose common denominator was Judaism.
More recently, when Valley of the Wolves (released February, 2006), the wildly popular, most expensive film ever made in Turkey, included a “cinematic motif” which featured an American Jewish doctor dismembering Iraqis supposedly murdered by American soldiers in order to harvest their organs for Jewish markets, Prime Minister Erdogan not only failed to condemn the film, he justified its production and popularity.
On August 28, 2007, the same day that Abdullah Gul became Turkey’s president  — replacing his secular predecessor, and further consolidating the ruling Islamic AK (Adalet ve Kalkınma) Party’s (AKP) hold on power — MEMRI published excerpts from a chilling interview given by Erdogan’s mentor, former Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan. The interview originally aired July 1, 2007, as part of Erbakan’s campaign efforts in support of Islamic fundamentalist political causes before the general elections of July 22, 2007, and the AKP’s  resounding popular electoral victory over its closest “secularist” rival parties.
Erbakan, founder of the fundamentalist Islamic Milli Gorus movement (National Vision; originated 1969), mentored current AKP leaders President Gul and Prime Minister Erdogan. Both were previously active members of Erbakan’s assorted fundamentalist political parties, serving in mayoral, ministerial, and parliamentary posts. The IHH — whose violent operatives featured prominently in the Mavi Maramara anti-Semitic incitement and subsequent bloodshed — has its origins in this same Orthodox Islamic Milli Görüş movement. During Erbakan’s pre-election 2007 campaign stops before throngs of tens of thousands of supporters throughout Anatolia, he reiterated the same virulently anti-Semitic statements captured in the July 1 interview and other interviews.
These interviews and more expansive speeches were rife with allusions to Zionists/Jews (deliberately conflated) as “bacteria” and “disease” conspiring to dominate the contemporary Islamic world (“from Morocco to Indonesia”), as they had attempted unsuccessfully during the 11^th and 12^th centuries when Jews purportedly “organized” the Crusades, only to be stopped by the Turks’/Erbakan’s Seljuk “forefathers.” Ultimately, Erbakan claimed, modern Jews/Zionists wished to establish “a world order where money and manpower are dependent on [them].”
For over thirty years, the fundamentalist National Salvation Party (of which Erbakan was a chairman) and its numerous offshoots have represented the most significant examples of Turkish Muslim political organizations exploiting systematized anti-Jewish, anti-Zionist bigotry. Erbakan’s ascension to deputy prime minister in January of 1974 was marked by Pan-Islamic overtures, along with increasingly strident verbal violence against Jews, Zionism, and the state of Israel emanating from the National Salvation Party’s organs, especially its daily Milli Gazete, published in Istanbul since January 12, 1973.
The modern fundamentalist Islamic movement Erbakan founded has continued to produce the most extreme strain of anti-Semitism extant in Turkey, and traditional Islamic motifs, i.e., frequent quotations from the Koran and Hadith, remain central to this hatred, nurtured by early Islam’s basic animus towards Judaism. For example, Milli Gazete published articles in February and April of 2005, which were toxic amalgams of ahistorical drivel and virulently anti-Semitic and anti-dhimmi Koranic motifs, including these protoypical comments based upon Koran 2:61/ 3:112:

In fact no amount of pages or lines would be sufficient to explain the Qur’anic chapters and our Lord Prophet’s [Muhammad's] words that tell us of the betrayals of the Jews. … The prophets sent to them, such as Zachariah and Isaiah, were murdered by the Jews…

The April 2005 edition of the monthly Aylik, produced by a Turkish jihadist organization which claimed responsibility for the November 15, 2003, dual synagogue bombings in Istanbul, contained 18 pages of antis-Semitic material.  An article written by Cumali Dalkilic (“Why Antisemitism?”) combined traditional Koranic anti-Semitic motifs with Nazi anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial. Another article’s title repeats the commonplace, if very pejorative Turkish Muslim characterization of Jews, “Tschifit,” which translates as “filthy Jews” (a pejorative term for Jews whose usage was recorded by the European travelers Carsten Niebuhr in 1794 and Abdolonyme Ubicini in 1856, based upon their visits to Ottoman Turkey), i.e., “The Tschifits [The Filthy Jews] Castle.”
Bat Ye’or published a remarkably foresighted 1973 analysis (first translated into English here) of the Islamic anti-Semitism resurgent in her native Egypt and being packaged for dissemination throughout the Muslim world. The primary, core anti-Semitic motifs were Islamic, derived from Islam’s foundational texts, onto which European (especially Nazi) elements were grafted.

The pejorative characteristics of Jews as they are described in Muslim religious texts are applied to modern Jews.  Anti-Judaism and anti-Zionism are equivalent-due to the inferior status of Jews in Islam, and because divine will dooms Jews to wandering and misery, the Jewish state appears to Muslims as an unbearable affront and a sin against Allah. Therefore it must be destroyed by Jihad. Here the Pan-Arab and anti-Western theses that consider Israel as an advanced instrument of the West in the Islamic world, come to reinforce religious anti-Judaism. The religious and political fuse in a purely Islamic context onto which are grafted foreign elements. If, on the doctrinal level, Nazi influence is secondary to the Islamic base, the technique with which the Antisemitic material has been reworked, and the political purposes being pursued, present striking similarities with Hitler’s Germany.
That anti-Jewish opinions have been widely spread in Arab nationalist circles since the 1930s is not in doubt. But their confirmation at [Al] Azhar [University] by the most important authorities of Islam enabled them to be definitively imposed, with the cachet of infallible authenticity, upon illiterate masses that were strongly attached to religious traditions.

Erbakan’s recent statements are vivid evidence of the fulminant anti-Semitism his popular movement has imbued, including among Turkey’s current ruling elites, who never criticize such pronouncements by their mentor. Indeed current Prime Minister Erdogan amplifies this bigoted, anti-Semitic discourse which resonates among the masses, illustrating graphically the same phenomenon described so presciently 37 years ago by Bat Ye’or about her native Egypt: sequentially grafting modern secular Western European elements, especially those associated with Nazism, onto a learned foundation of anti-Semitic motifs from Islam’s core texts.
Rifat Bali, a Turkish-Jewish historian, made a passionate indictment of Turkey’s tacit acceptance of anti-Semitism, published soon after the November 15, 2003, Istanbul synagogue bombings. The courageous Bali first and foremost decried the failure of Prime Minister Erdogan and his AKP government to publicly denounce both the anti-Semitic discourse of the fundamentalist Islamic movement from which Erdogan emerged (and which he claimed later to have abandoned), and those (like Erdogan’s mentor Necmettin Erbakan) insistent on perpetuating such public discourse. With bitter disbelief, Bali further noted the near unanimously shared, albeit counterfactual view, of a respected Turkish columnist, published (in Milliyet November 17, 2003) within two days of the bombings, who maintained that, “…there has never been  anti-Semitism in Turkey in its racist or religious sense.”
The opportunity for honest discussion was squandered by every domain of Turkish society; not only politicians, but also media and intellectual elites. Moreover, a profoundly depressing example of collective Jewish dhimmitude was on ignominious display. The chief rabbi, as well as the secular leaders in his entourage representing the voice of Turkey’s Jewish community, even the Israeli government, as Bali observes,

…all seemed determined to ignore…[rather than] to confront face to face the anti-Semitism which is incorporated in the political Islamic movement…[i.e., which currently governs Turkey]. Bali further admonished the Erdogan regime to live up to its professed support of equality for Jews within Turkish society: Turkey’s Jews are not dhimmis in need of the tolerance and the protection of the Muslim majority. They are citizens of the Republic of Turkey.

Perhaps ceasing this disgraceful and delusional behavior starts by putting an end to the hagiography of Jewish life under Ottoman rule (including Jews living within Istanbul’s ghettos and Ottoman Palestine), and using precise, accurate, and appropriate terms that describe this half-millennium of history: jihad, surgun (forced population transfer), and chronic dhimmitude.
There was nothing “humanitarian” whatsoever in the Ottomans accepting a relatively modest number of Jewish refugees from the Inquisition. Far greater numbers were accepted in other parts of Europe itself. Indeed, the vacuum created for these skilled Jewish refugees whom the Ottomans re-settled in their burgeoning empire was created by the Ottoman jihad conquest of Byzantine and Venetian territories, and their Jewish populations, i.e., Jews who were subjected to the Ottoman jihad, including massacre, pillage, enslavement, forced conversion, and surgun deportation.
Also, one cannot get lost in comforting happy talk and ignore the chronic, grinding anti-Semitism, and vestiges of dhimmitude to which the Jews in Turkey have been subjected throughout the history of modern Turkey. This includes the large, government organized Thracian pogroms of 1934, and the blatantly discriminatory, deliberately pauperizing varlik vergisi taxation scheme and subsequent deportations of Jewish business leaders to “Turkish Siberia” during World War II. This ongoing discrimination contributed to the rapid exodus of 40% of Turkey’s Jews after WWII to Israel within two years of its creation. It was followed by the steady, continuous attrition of the Turkish Jewish population — their departure accelerating again after the notorious Istanbul pogrom against Greeks, Armenians, and Jews in 1955 — so that only 17,000 (or fewer) of Turkey’s 77, 000 post-WWII Jews remain.
Joseph Hacker’s seminal research highlights the 1523 book of the Talmudist Eliyah Kapsali (Seder Eliyah Zuta, composed in Crete) and its embellishment by the 17^th century Egyptian chronicler Rabbi Yosef Sambari (in Sambari’s Divrei Yosef) — rather crudely redacted narratives which became the version accepted by modern historiography of the history of the Jews in the Ottoman Empire:

…the sürgün [forced population transfer] phenomenon and all its attendant [discriminatory] features was not considered at all. If the sürgün was mentioned at all in the writings of the [Jewish] scholars of the Empire, it was held to be an insignificant, indecisive episode in the history of the Jews. The relations between Jews and Ottomans were thus felt to be both idyllic and monotonous from their very inception, no distinction being made either between kinds of Jewish populations or between one period and another throughout the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
Kapsali conceals all criticism and tries to cover up and obliterate inconvenient facts. … This is also apparently the reason for his utterly ignoring the Romaniot [Byzantine] Jews and their fate at the time of the conquest of Constantinople, and of the suffering of the others exiled there after the conquest.

The 16^th century dhimmi Jewish leadership’s deliberate misrepresentation of the actual plight of Ottoman Jewry was described by Hacker with obvious contempt. Inexcusably, this pathological behavior persists five centuries later among contemporary Jewish leadership elites, who appear incapable of identifying, let alone adequately defending against, the resurgence of jihadist Islam in Turkey. Gifted writer Diana West’s evocative language depicts the ultimate outcome if this self-destructive dhimmitude is not reversed: “in denial there is defeat.”
Tragically, the contemporary leadership of the Turkish Jewish community, Israel, and American Jewish advocacy groups never mustered the intellectual courage to overcome their own craven denial. Collectively galvanized, several years ago, they might have confronted Erdogan’s AKP government over the ugly living legacy of anti-dhimmi and anti-Semitic discrimination against Turkey’s Jews, and demanded immediate efforts at amelioration of their plight: marginalization and legal punishment of Turkish politicians and public intellectuals whose discourse incites Jew-hatred, and potentially, anti-Jewish violence; the implementation of concrete reforms, ensuring in practice equal rights, opportunities, and public safety for Jews. And they should have demanded, further, that if all these measures were not implemented rapidly, with tangible evidence of success, Turkey’s Jews would be allowed unfettered, mass emigration without any economic penalties.
Such bold, forthright action – joint “anti-dhimmitude” — could have put an end to the ongoing phenomenon of a vestigial de facto dhimmi Jewish community of Turkey (via its dhimmi leadership) holding Israel and American Jews hostage to the whims of an oppressive Turkish government, in the throes of a transformative fundamentalist Islamic revival. But nothing of the sort was ever done.
Thus a Turkish Jew, Albert Pinto — illustrating modern Jewish dhimmitude, denial, and raw “fear for their lives” in Turkey as Muslims “take to the street in growing numbers against Israel” — reportedly stated, referring to the slain IHH jihadists aboard the Mavi Maramara: “What we are hearing in the media is not pleasant. Why did they kill those people? They were nice people who simply wished to help.”
More ominously, resurgent jihadism in Turkey manifest by the ruling AKP party, and its popular leader Erdogan, now brazenly espouses anti-Semitic hatred and focuses this animus on the Jewish state of Israel.

      Armed with paintball guns and marshmallow treats, a platoon of Israeli commandos were shocked by actual violence against them as they landed on the ship. "Wait, thought one, were is the band, where are the balloons?"
      PM Netanyahu's defence of the killing of nine activists was, our troops were attacked. Well, of course they were. They gatecrashed a party and you know how Turks hate intruders. He'll get nowhere if that's the best he can come up with. But it's better than, this operation was done so stupidly, it had to have been a planned fiasco. But neither he nor any critic dare name the planner of the embarrassment.

When the first Marine who landed on the Marmara was attacked on the
spot, Admiral Marom should have changed tactics immediately. It is
hard to doubt his expertise in such simple matters, but they
continued dropping the Marines with paintball guns onto a ship which
was exploding with rage. Apparently, the Marines did not receive fire
cover from several helicopters right above them, despite being in
mortal danger. They went with mere pistols against hundreds of armed
rioters: in close combat, the rioters' knives and axes were easily
equal to Navy handguns. Someone sent the Marines to their deaths, and
one is left to ask oneself about the role of Admiral Marom, who
narrowly escaped discharge a year ago due to his tendency to frequent
strip joints, and who may be indebted to high-ranking leftists in the
establishment who saved his job.

       This writer notes that "someone sent the Marines to their death" and safely blames the wrong man, Admiral Marom. He is too timid to write the obvious; Marom took orders from his superior, Defence Minister Ehud Barak. It was Barak who probably planned and certainly approved every detail of this intentional naval "fiasco." One way you can tell that he's being protected is when the military establishment starts an obvious coverup:

Yediot Ahronot's senior military analyst, Alex Fishman provided the
following Q&A in the 4 June edition relating to the commando operation that
took over the Mavi Marmara.
Q: Why weren't chains or ropes used to jam the propellers of the ship?
A: It wouldn't work. Any method that requires sending frogmen near
propellers that are running is unacceptably dangerous.

Who said anything about frogmen? This is use of obfuscation, appearing to be answering a question but actually avoiding it. Nets or shells could have been used to foul the propellers and they weren't.

Q: Why were ships simply placed to block the boat?
A: A boat can't block another ship. The only way a ship can effectively
stop another one is by ramming it.
Q: Why not ram the boat?
A: You need to hit it with a heavier ship. The Mavi Mamara might have sunk
if hit.

     Here is one option: The ship receives a warning shell. With lots of advanced warning, the ship knows it must shut down engines or risk a shell in its lower hull. The flotsam is then rescued. Everyone on the ship expected this and put on their life preservers. But Israel surprised them. Instead, a small platoon arrived on deck prepared to take care of a mob outnumbering them 40-1 with goodwill, tasty treats and a fun game of paintball. All because it was a better option than sinking the ship.
    In 2000, Barak was the Israeli Prime Minister who went to Camp David and gave Yasir Arafat the works, even half of Jerusalem. That his plan was inexplicably turned down by Arafat doesn't mean it couldn't be revived right now. All he needs to do is force Netanyahu out with an incident so bloody and outrageous that every nation on earth condemns Israel and its leader. One publication from the other side implies that Barak cut a deal with Rahm Emmanuel that gave him the go ahead to plan the flotilla disaster: 

The Israeli press confirmed that Rahm Emmanuel had a meeting with Defense Minister Ehud Barak, whose Ministry was responsible for overseeing the Commando attack on the Flotilla.
There have been reports to the effect that Rahm Emmanuel  would "lead a team of high octane Democratic party pro-Israel political operatives to run the campaign for the Defense Minister Ehud Barak" against Netanyahu in the next Israeli election. "Barak is more of a team player than Netanyahu, and appeals to many Americans and Israelis who see Netanyahu’s belligerence as an embarrassment. If Barak was elected Prime Minister and the peace process was restarted, President Obama could get the credit for the resumption of the talks."

     There is an Israeli commission of inquiry that I expect will be a whitewash, but it must answer the core telling question spreading throughout the IDF and the country; Did Barak approve this operation behind the backs of the Knesset and his superior PM Netanyahu? My reading of the facts is precisely that. Which means Barak did unto Netanyahu that which, in 1982, he did unto Menachem Begin. As I recently wrote:

I learned the real facts of the Sultan Yakob massacre as told by brigade commander, Gen Avigdor Ben Gal, to the newspaper Kol Ha'ir in 1997. He set out on a jeep tour when two lower officers, took over the brigade command radio against all orders. Both would become leaders of the Labor Party; Amram Mitzna and Ehud Barak. This was not a Labor Party war; it was initiated by the newly powerful Menachem Begin and his Likud Party. If the war went well, Labor wouldn't see power again for the foreseeable future. So Barak and Mitzna were ordered to sabotage it by killing Jews. But not Labor secular Jews. Only the religious would serve their purposes. So with the maps in front of them, they deliberately sent a religious brigade to its doom.

      Barak is a worm boring its way through the government. At the Herzliya Conference in 2010, he offered unilateral withdrawal
and begged the PA to assume power in Judea and Samaria. Otherwise, he warned, "Israel was in danger of becoming an apartheid nation."
      Once again the Israeli public will reject any hint that their Defence minister was prepared to sacrifice the lives of their children to win political points. They have been fleeced again, under deadly attack by their own Defence Minister, and because they are not treacherous enough to order the slaughter of their own, they can't believe anyone is.
      And once again as always, another Israeli Labor Party heads gets to murder with impunity.

Report: Obama Nixed Anti-Riot Gear on Flotilla

(Israelnationalnews.com) Israeli troops avoided the use of non-lethal riot gear against passengers on last week's Gaza-bound flotilla in order to appease United States President Barack Obama, according to the World Tribune. Quoting “diplomatic sources,” the paper said Obama nixed the use of equipment such as tear gas to stop the flotilla and demanded that Israel “exercise extreme caution and restraint.”

The White House has not commented on the report.

The report claimed that Defense Minister Ehud Barak accepted Obama's demand, possibly due to his hopes that America will agree to sell advanced weapons to Israel.
It says that the American demand was made despite Israeli intelligence reports indicating possible danger aboard one ship, the Mavi Marmara, which carried primarily Turkish citizens, many of them members of the pro-terrorist IHH organization. Intelligence agents had found that many of the Turkish passengers were trained in weapons use and hand-to-hand combat; their assessments were relayed to the White House.
Ultimately, soldiers boarded the ships with paintball guns and pistols instead of traditional anti-riot gear such as tear gas and rubber bullets. They were quickly overpowered by passengers on the Mavi Marmara, who were armed with clubs and knives. After two soldiers were critically wounded and dragged below deck, a commando opened fire , killing nine passengers and successfully ending the attack.
Obama did not condemn the IDF response, but since the flotilla incident, he has sought to ease tension with Turkey, and has called on Israel to ease its blockade on Gaza.

POOR EXCUSE! Sounds logical though, doesn't it? But the real reason is A COVER-UP. "THEY" ( PTB + BARAK) DON'T WANT THE TRUTH TO COME OUT . Sounds like a conspiracy theory, doesn't it? Check out the evidence, and then decide.

Squadron 13 Soldiers Ordered to Close Facebook Accounts

(Israelnationalnews.com) Squadron 13 soldiers fighters were instructed to close their Facebook accounts. In addition, soldiers were required to stop using cell phones with cameras, for security reasons.

The concern is that the soldiers will tell their friends on the network about unpublished information regarding the operation on the Gaza flotilla and thereby reveal classified activities.

PM Netanyahu: Inquiry Must Investigate Flotilla Organizers

(Israelnationalnews.com) Speaking at the Marker Financial Conference on Wednesday, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu began with a few notable remarks on the world community's demand for an inquiry into Israel's response to the provocative flotilla of last week. Netanyahu said the inquiry must investigate those who organized the flotilla, and their motives, as well.

"We are consulting with several figures within the international community," Netanyahu said, "regarding the appropriate procedure of inquiry that will corroborate all the facts relating to the Gaza flotilla. We know the truth and the people of Israel know the truth."
Who is behind the radical group on the deck of the ship? Who funded its members? How did axes, clubs, knives and other types of cold weapons find their way on to the ship?
"The Minister of Defense, Ministers, the Chief of Staff and I are prepared to testify and provide all the unembellished facts. But I remain firm in my position that, as always, the IDF will be the only organization to question our soldiers. This is the custom in our allies' armies and we shall behave in a similar fashion.  

"But I ask that the whole truth come to light, and therefore the inquiry must also include answers to certain questions that many in the international community prefer to ignore: 
"Who is behind the radical group on the deck of the ship? Who funded its members? How did axes, clubs, knives and other types of cold weapons find their way on to the ship? Why were extremely large sums of money found in the pockets of those people on the deck of the ship? Who was this money intended for? The world needs to know the whole picture, and we will ensure that the whole picture is made public."  
Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Wednesday night that a final decision on who will investigate the flotilla events will be made by this Sunday. It currently appears that an Israeli team of lawyers, accompanied by two foreign observers, will perform the inquiry. The mini-cabinet of seven top Israeli cabinet ministers convened on Wednesday to discuss the matter.

IDF panel of experts begins investigating 'Mavi Marmara' raid.

The naval operation to prevent a flotilla of international aid ships from breaking the Israel-imposed sea blockade on Gaza last week needs to be investigated on a tactical level, Deputy Prime Minister Moshe Ya’alon said on Tuesday, in the first sign of criticism of the operation by a top cabinet minister.

“The decision not to allow the flotilla to reach Gaza was the right decision,” Ya’alon said during a meeting with local council heads in the Knesset. “The soldiers’ decision to open fire was made in self-defense. The soldiers and commanders are deserving of praise and appreciation for their bravery – but in the same place that medals are given out, it is also necessary to investigate the military planning of the operation.”

The critical comments by Ya’alon were the first made by a senior cabinet minister regarding last week’s operation, which ended with nine dead passengers – all of them, according to the IDF, part of a group of well-trained mercenaries who violently attacked the navy commandos as they boarded the ship.

Ya’alon was acting prime minister at the time of the operation, as Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was in Canada for high-level diplomatic talks.

Kadima MK Yoel Hasson slammed Ya’alon and claimed that in his remarks, the deputy prime minister had implied that the operation had been flawed from the outset and had not gone through the correct decision-making process.

“There is no limit to Ya’alon and Netanyahu’s attempts to evade responsibility,” Hasson said.

Also Tuesday, a panel of military experts – set up by Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi – began investigating the flotilla operation.

Headed by Maj.-Gen. (res.) Giora Eiland, the former head of the National Security Council, the panel is expected to collect testimony from Ashkenazi, navy head V.-Adm. Eli Marom and other senior officers involved in planning the operation.

Meanwhile, the government still appeared to be waiting Tuesday to ensure that it would have the backing of the US and key players in Europe before making a formal announcement regarding the type of probe it would establish.
One diplomatic official said that Israel’s friends abroad, such as Germany and France, were entreating the government to “help us help you” – meaning they wanted Israel to set up an independent and credible body to investigate the events.

If Israel is able to get the US, as well as countries like France and Germany, to back the type of probe being set up, diplomatic officials said, it would be able to deflect calls – including those coming from Turkey – for an international investigation.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his inner cabinet, a forum known as the “septet,” have reportedly agreed on the establishment of an Israeli committee made up of jurists and diplomats who would probe the legality of the blockade on Gaza, as well as the manner in which Israel prevented the flotilla from reaching the territory.

The probe is expected to question the political echelon and senior military officials, but not the soldiers who took part in the raid. The committee is also expected to include two foreign observers – one from the US, and the other from another, as-yet-unnamed country.

Diplomatic officials said the US was keen on the involvement of another country, not wanting to be the only international representative on the committee.

Once again you have nailed this one. However, godless entities are never going to allow the truth to be known anymore than all the other lies of the successive principalities and powers of this present evil world system. I'm not trying to be defeatist here, but rather I'm concerned that you/we not become too bogged down in this past event, because I know how much effort you put into these things. With the Bible prophets as our guide, we must keep alert to what is coming. We are the most blessed people of all time because we know the God of Israel has foretold us of all the most important things we need to know. For example, your work regarding the attempt by the Vatican harlot to gain a sovereign foothold on the Temple Mount was masterful. It is our job to discern what the prophets say and prepare. We cannot change what the LORD has declared, but we can be watching so we are not taken by surprise.  That is my sole purpose, watching the marvelous works of the Sovereign God. We can take assurance and comfort in the LORD's promises to Abraham in Genesis, knowing that the Remnant of Israel will survive not matter the power and cunning of the enemies arrayed him.

And the farce continues.....witnesses will be subpoena'ed : does that include every single one of our soldiers? I sure hope so. But meanwhile Barak's decision making process, who influenced him, who participated in the decision to send soldiers without real weapons to their possible deaths and kidnapping, the whole scam, with other words, will NOT be investigated.

New and Improved Flotilla Committee

(Israelnationalnews.com) The committee appointed to investigate the flotilla crisis of a month ago has had its mandate expanded slightly, has withdrawn its threat to resign, and will convene for its second session on July 11.
The committee, headed by retired Supreme Court Justice Yaakov Turkel, was established earlier this month under heavy international pressure to find out exactly what occurred before and during the boarding of the Turkish-IHH Gaza-bound ship.
Israeli forces repeatedly warned a flotilla of ships heading for Gaza not to do so, as the area was under Israeli blockade. The ships did not adhere to these orders, but did not resist when the forces boarded them and steered them towards Ashdod – except for the Mavi Marmara, whose passengers attacked the Israelis with iron clubs, knives, and axes, and even shot at them and held some commandos captive. The Israelis were finally able to regroup and overcome their attackers, killing nine in the process – some of whom had expressed the prior wish to die as Islamic martyrs.
The Turkel committee was widely mocked for having “no teeth” and little real authority. On Tuesday, it was announced in Judge Turkel’s name that he planned to resign if the authorities were not expanded.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, after discussing it with Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein and Justice Minister Yaakov Ne’eman, quickly agreed that Turkel’s demands were not worth refusing.
The main changes are that Turkel’s committee will be able to subpoena witnesses and have them testify under oath, and will be expanded from three members to five.
It will still not be mandated to investigate the government’s decision-making process regarding the flotilla, however.  Instead, it will investigate the legality of Israel’s take-over of the ship, which is related to the legality of the blockade imposed by Israel on its enemy, Hamas-run Gaza. In addition, it will examine why Israel imposed the blockade, as well as the behavior of those who organized the flotilla, mainly the terrorist-associated Turkish IHH organization and Turkey itself.
The commission held its first session on Monday, and featured short statements by the two international observers, Lord David Trimble of Ireland and former Canadian judge advocate-general Ken Watkin.
In addition to Judge Turkel, the committee also numbers international law expert Shabtai Rosenne and Maj.-Gen. (ret.) Amos Horev. Most of the committee hearings will be open to the public.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, along with government ministers and the IDF Chief of Staff, will all testify at a panel that will investigate the events in the IDF raid on the Gaza flotilla last week. The decision was made at a meeting of the inner cabinet Tuesday discussing the investigative panel. The group decided that IDF troops would not be asked to testify.

I bet you they are afraid to look the soldiers in the eyes, after having knowingly and in cold blood sent them to be butchered and possibly even kidnapped by the flotilla terrorists.

Why ask the chief actors and victims of the saga to be witnesses? It is just too damning.

It reminds me of other kangoroo courts, where the truth is manipulated, suppressed, covered-up, and falsified.

Don't you think it is IMPORTANT to stop Ehud Barak NOW? Do we want this monster for another few years - see article below- ???? Will you do your part to expose him for his role in the flotilla disaster, and get him ousted from the government of Israel once and for all?

• Isn't the fact that the IDF knew ahead of time about what was greeting the soldiers, yet sent the boys unarmed, and didn't give them permission to use live fire until some of them were almost dead, sufficient proof?

• What about the fact that IHH is an intelligence agency - ( ISI) affiliate, via Pakistani chief of intelligence, what about the cooperation of all the intelligence agencies?

Is it possible that Rahm Emanuel will lead a team of high octane Democratic party pro-Israel political operatives to run the campaign for the former Prime Minister and current Defense Minister Ehud Barak in the next Israeli election? This scenario may not be as far-fetched as many may assume.

Consider that Bill Clinton, after many acrimonious encounters with the intransigent then Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu sent his own crack political operatives to assist Netanyahu’s opponent in 1999. Strategist James Carville, pollster Stanley Greenberg and TV advertising man Robert Shrum helped run Ehud Barak’s campaign for Prime Minister. Clinton thought Barak would be able to deliver a peace settlement with the Palestinians. Barak became the Israeli head of state, although he did nothing to promote peace in the region. However, Barak did provide a more congenial ally for the American president. It has been reported that he charmed Clinton who found it difficult to even refuse the Israeli’s most eccentric whim. Other than Barak’s stellar personality, the pro-Israel lobby may have been a contributing factor to Clinton’s unusual solicitousness.

President Barack Obama has a marked penchant for following the failed initiatives of previous American presidents, including appointing former Clinton officials to high profile positions. Think of the military build-up in Afghanistan and the bank bailouts. As for returning officials, you can start with Robert Rubin, Hillary Clinton, Dennis Ross and, of course, Rahm Emanuel.

When Ehud Barak, in a recent major speech to a large audience in Herzylia, Israel said that Israel must make peace with the Palestinians or it will become an apartheid state, the international media and many who are critical of the occupation praised his comments and lauded Barak as a peacemaker. Barak is not a force for peace and Israel has already imposed apartheid in the West Bank. Still, Barak is a smart, ambitious politician, who knows how to play music which will enchant a foreign audience and his song in Herzylia was apparently a hit. He also wants to be Prime Minister again.

The remarks made by Ehud Barak were surely not intended for domestic consumption since the very utterance of the term “apartheid” in relationship to Israeli policy automatically elicits charges of anti-Semitism among Israelis. But as former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert demonstrated, among the international community, warnings about apartheid can burnish the image of even a failed Prime Minister who has been forced out of office amid a serious corruption scandal.

President Obama may want to consider reprising Bill Clinton’s Israeli election gambit since Netanyahu humiliated him by ignoring his call for a settlement freeze and then forcing the novice head of state to declare that he and not Netanyahu was at fault for the failure to restart the Middle East peace process.

Barak is more of a team player than Netanyahu, and appeals to many Americans and Israelis who see Netanyahu’s belligerence as an embarrassment. And also, by the time the next Israeli election comes around, Obama may want to rid himself of Emanuel, his chief-of-staff,  who has already offended many progressive Democrats by design, as well as others by the force of his personality. I am sure that Emanuel, who volunteered in the Israeli army during the first Iraq war and whose father is Israeli, would jump at the chance to contribute something worthwhile to Obama, to his second homeland and to the “peace process.”

If Barak was elected Prime Minister and the peace process was restarted, President Obama could get the credit for the resumption of the talks. However, any negotiations that Barak would lead would be characterized by unfair demands that would attempt to severely limit Palestinian sovereignty. They would be doomed to end in failure as were those at Camp David.

No matter. Restarting the talks will make Obama look like a savvy and successful diplomat. The fact that they will not lead anywhere also insures that Obama will not have to confront his pro-Israel supporters in the U.S. Obama could look like a peacemaker while preserving the status quo. Isn’t that what the current U.S. administration is all about, good appearance and no action?

The whole thing is a dirty business that is probably very well suited to an operator of Emanuel’s experience, temperament and background.

The people must submit a rigid demand to Netanyahu to make sure that unthreatened soldiers, shielded from the poisonous son of a b... Barak, are allowed to give their report.

The people must also demand to know w/o "secretive" hideaways all the facts.

The pestilent disgrace barak that far too many times has sent or abandoned to their harm and even death many of our children must be unmasked once and for all.

He must go down and in time to confront a Judge elected by the people.

We must also demand to see sons, daughters, cousins, nephews, uncles and other family of that garbage passing as leadership in the front lines while war is being waged and mentioned as also hurt in action.

None of those family members show up for actual defense work.
