Rice Arrival Delayed to Avoid Offending Shas
(IsraelNN.com) At the request of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice postponed her plane's planned landing at Ben Gurion Airport by almost two hours so as not to desecrate the Sabbath.
The estimated landing time has been moved from 6:15 P.M. to 8 P.M., a short time after the Sabbath ends. Sources in Jerusalem told IDF Radio the move was carried out in order to avoid offending Shas.
