Netanyahu blows it! Meanwhile, it appears to me that PERES is the real winner of this election: after all, HE MAKES THE DECISIONS; am I understanding correctly? If so, then, once more, the Vatican wins, to our great sorrow...Please enlighten me.

by disenfranchising feiglin, in order to appease his eu puppet masters, netanyahu lost his position to liberman, who is regarded--wrongly--as more right-wing.

YES, THAT IS THE REASON; TRAGIC - OR IS IT REALLY? DOES IT REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE, WHEN PERES IS THE ONE WHO ULTIMATELY DECIDES WHO FORMS THE COALITION?

"...Once the final results of the election are known, President Shimon Peres will begin a round of consultations with party leaders, to hear who they are recommending for prime minister. In the past, the task of forming a coalition has been given to the head of the largest party.

But election legislation gives Peres wide leeway, and he can grant the first opportunity to the party leader who he judges has the best chance in forming a government, even if that party did not earn the most mandates in the election...

Tomorrow we will know better. Meanwhile, the stupid cow ran very strong and that is tragic, no matter what the outcome.

Looks like it worked, eh? They successfully drained the Likud's margin. Four More Ycccchhhs!

(I guess he agrees with bill's original comment) :

"Someone" ( bill) I read raises the suspicion that YB is being built up by the post-Zionists/unJews to siphon votes from the nationalist camp into the Oslo Camp in all its manifestations. Once he mentions it, there is a lot of merit to the suspicion. Lieberman has spoken in the past of an exchange of territories with the Arabs who call themselves "Palestinians:" heavily populated Arab areas in Israel in exchange for heavily populated Jewish areas over the Green Line. That means he is not opposed to a "Palestinian" state. He was party to the casino in Jericho. His positions have been all over the lot, which means he is not dependable. Until now, the vote-getter among nationalist voters, the party which could be co-opted to support Oslo has been Shas. Whatever they said to their hawkish constituency, the BBI system (Bribery, Blackmail and Intimidation) always kept them in the Oslo camp. Shas was willing to sit in the government while it gave away parts of Eretz Yisrael but now, the government is giving away Jerusalem and Shas cannot go along, BBI notwithstanding. So the Oslo Camp have built up another tame party denounced it as a "right-wing, extreme, racist, Kahanist" party and threatened it with prosecution in order to anger hawkish, nationalist voters and goad them into casting their ballots for what will turn out to be the new tame "right-wing" party in the Oslo Camp to take the place of Shas. It makes perfect sense.
