Barak: Issue More Restraining Orders and Detentions

( Defense Minister Ehud Barak directed his security chiefs to increase their use of administrative restraining orders against Israel rights activists to distance them from relevant areas in Judea and Samaria.

This comes after the government-approved radio stations repeatedly broadcast angry words spoken by neighbors and friends of the two Jewish families awoken in the middle of the night to have their homes bulldozed near Kiryat Arba.

'Barak Uses Administrative Orders to Grab Publicity'

( MK (National Union-N.R.P.) Uri Ariel said Wednesday that the real reason Labor Party leader Ehud Barak made public the strategy of using administrative detention and administrative injunctions against Israel rights activists in Judea and Samaria is to stay in the headlines.

Ariel said that Barak is concerned about falling in the polls predicting the public's vote in the next election.
