Dichter: Budget Cut Hurts Police Badly

2 Av 5768, 03 August 08 06:12

( Public Security Minister Avi Dichter voiced anger Sunday after a government vote to cut NIS 57 million from his ministry's budget for the next year. This amount comprises 15 percent of the total cuts approved by the government from the different ministries.

"The cuts," he said, "will badly hurt the police's status and its attempts to upgrade its abilities in the stations and to provide personal safety to the public."
