Subject: Olmert vetoes PRIVATE funding to install safe rooms in homes in Sderot
THE FOLLOWING SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.
ISRAELI GOVERNMENT OFFICES, ISRAELI EMBASSIES AND ISRAELI CONSULATES SHOULD BE FLOODED WITH QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS POLICY
ONLY IF THE GOVERNMENT OF ISRAEL WILL ACT ONLY IF IT PERCEIVES THAT THE PEOPLE OF SDEROT HAVE A CONSTITUENCY OF PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT THEM ============ ========= ========= ==

At least 800 homes here in Sderot have no protected rooms where someone can take cover during a missile attack.
It has come to the attention of our news agency that the Prime Minister's office has vetoed Gaidemark's offer of private funding to install these protected rooms.
This decision places 800 families in a life threatening situation in their own homes.
It is one thing to say that the government does not have budget for this.
It is quite another thing to say that the government will not allow private funding for minimal protection.
