Olmert, Abbas, Decide to Speed Up Negotiations

14 Adar 5768, 20 February 08 11:12

( Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, and top PA negotiator Ahmed Qurei (Abu Ala) met in Jerusalem on Tuesday to discuss ongoing negotiations between Israel and the PA.  During the meeting, Olmert and Abbas agreed to speed up the negotiations process.

Spokesman Mark Regev said that negotiations teams would begin meeting on a near-daily basis.  Israel will debate all "core issues," Regev said.  Prior to the meeting, Olmert and senior PA officials had publicly disagreed over whether or not talks over the status of Jerusalem should be pushed off until after other subjects were resolved.
