Dimona Bombers May Have Infiltrated from Hevron
(IsraelNN.com) Defense officials said Monday night that two bombers who attacked Dimona on Monday may have infiltrated from the Hevron region, and not from Gaza as was initially reported. The Fatah group's Al-Aksa Martyrs Brigades, which claimed responsibility for the attack, said the two bombers had entered Israel from Egypt after leaving Gaza via the destroyed border crossing.
Officials said the terrorists could have entered the Negev from the Hevron area with relative ease, as there is currently no security fence in the area. The bombers might have had some familiarity with Dimona that led them to attack the city, officials said.
The terrorists murdered a 20-year-old woman and wounded several others. A 74-year-old man was in critical condition following the bombing. The other victims were in light condition.
