Mubarak Agrees to Let Abbas Control Rafiah Crossing
(IsraelNN.com) Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak agreed in talks with Hamas and Palestinian Authority officials Sunday to allow PA Chairman and Fatah leader Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas) to take control of the Rafiah crossing that separates Gaza from Egypt, according to PA sources.
Egyptian, Palestinian Authority and Hamas officials have been meeting to discuss last week's breach of the border in which Hamas terrorists blew up the border fence, allowing tens of thousands of Gazans to flood into Egypt, and weapons and terrorists to flow in both directions. Control of the Rafiah crossing was transferred from Israel to Egypt, under European Union observers in 2005.
