Dear friends, family, etc:
Regarding the Chesed Fund campaign about David Barel in a Polish prison for a crime he didn't commit:
After a lot of deliberations with a friend, we came to the conclusion that the story is REAL. Why do I say that? Several intelligent people have questioned the veracity of the claim, suspecting that some con man or woman is trying to squeeze a lot of money out of us softhearted and compassionate Jews... because we know: what is more precious than saving another Jew?
Well, thanks to my friend's tenacity, intelligence and skills, she figured out who the man really is and what happened. I won't spill the beans because she did the work, so let her tell it like she figured it out; additionally the family didn't want to be identified, and I don't want to cause them any more sorrow at this time. But please take my word that we have done our due diligence and we both believe that we know who and why.
So with that in mind, I am asking you, once more: let's free the man! Let's make sure the missing money is in the account by tonight POLAND TIME! The man is in Poland, and Poland is one hour behind Israel, so now it is around 4:00 PM there.
Let's contribute whatever we can , let's spread the word to all our friends, rich and poor, let every Jew pitch in in saving this man so he can be home for Rosh Hashanah!
And let everybody have a wonderful New Year full of brachot.

UPDATE: the campaign closed early, B"H!!! Now we need to hear about how Mr. Barel comes home.
Absoslutely, HDG! I hope the media will finally get involved; amazing how when money is needed somehow they are nowhere to be found. Only good Jews contribute, because they CARE!
I hope he comes home on time for Rosh Hashanah in good health. Poor man!

Considering this is the 3rd person held ransom in that area Poland, Ukraine) doesn't it seem 1 should beware of visiting there?

Thank you so much for your comment and input; I had no idea that 3 people went through a similar situation. This is quite horrible! Who were the other two and what happened? Were they freed?
We need to do something about this, at the very least publicize what the poles are up to, AGAIN. What an evil people! Of course there are decent ones among them, I am sure, but this behavior is absolutely unconscionable, and when we know how they behaved during WWII, we get a good picture of what kind of people they really are. Yemach shemam! May Hashem avenge the blood of his servants! And may Hashem protect all his servants! Amen.
