What an incredible story: you better believe it: most gold and silver ETF's are PHONEY! A shame that rich Arabs should be the good guys here. The whole thing unraveling quickly. Bottom line: demand delivery now!
After hearing about this London gold scandal, revealed in July but elaborated upon in September;
after finding out about the 'money troubles' of Queen Elizabeth;
and after seeing the Vatican embroiled in yet another money scandal - which made headlines on September 21;
I am starting to think that the pope's nice little visit to England September 16-19 mostly had to do with gold, money, and scandals.
NEVER underestimate the hypocrisy of Benedikt: his trips ALWAYS have an ulterior business or political motive; "religion" is the veneer, the popular explanation for the masses.
Religion in this case truly is OPIUM FOR THE MASSES!
... And now, adding this to the cocktail; what do you think, WHO got all the Federal Reserve money? Any connection there? Only asking questions!

My, my, my, what a surprise: murders, money laundering, mafia, concentration camp gold, "diplomatic immunity" - Vatican evil deeds finally exposed: it must be the end of days!
Notice JP Morgan's name here, THE most corrupt, manipulative, fraudulent bank of America besides Goldman-Sachs, also a Vatican stronghold.
... And, surprise, surprise, Tedeschi shares a name with the GOTTI family - rings a bell (whether there is a family connection, I don't know)?
... One more interesting observation: "Tedeschi" in Italian means "Germans": could Gotti Tedeschi have some interesting family connections to Germany, in addition to the Mafia? ( only questions, at this point - no facts).
...Notice his connections to Spain as well.
Frankly, that scenario would fit in perfectly with what we know about the Vatican, about Calvi, and particularly about the current pope - here would be a man who is totally loyal to the pope, doing anything the pope asks him to do, thereby taking the heat instead of his boss Benedikt.... and the boss, as usual, coming out smelling like a rose - or is he?

Kouchner: World Demands Freeze Extension
Tishrei 18, 5771, 26 September 10 10:58
(Israelnationalnews.com) Speaking Sunday, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said that “world opinion will not accept a situation where Israel will decide to renew building in the settlements.” Speaking to Arab media, Kouchner said that France was working together with the United States to prevent a renewal of building in Judea and Samaria, “since this is a critical issue.”
British FM: Continue Freeze
Tishrei 18, 5771, 26 September 10 02:58
(Israelnationalnews.com) British Foreign Minister William Haig on Sunday demanded that Israel continue the building freeze in Judea and Samaria. In an interview with Arab media, Hague said that his government continues to hold the position that “all settlements are illegitimate.”
Clinton Met with Abbas Regarding Freeze
Tishrei 17, 5771, 25 September 10 11:17
(Israelnationalnews.com) American Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reportedly met with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Friday amid "intense" talks with both PA and Israeli officials ahead of Sunday's expiration of the 10-month American-imposed ban on Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria.
"The discussions are pretty intense right now," said Jeffrey Feltman, US assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs. "We are urging Israel to extend the moratorium and we are also making clear to the Palestinians that we do not believe that it is in their interest to walk out of the talks."
Ashton: Disappointed About Freeze End

Ashton: Disappointed About Freeze End
Tishrei 20, 5771, 28 September 10 06:04
(Israelnationalnews.com) The European Union's Foreign Policy Chief, Catherine Ashton, expressed on Monday her "regrets" over the Israeli decision not to continue the freeze on construction in Judea and Samaria.
Ashton said in a statement: "We are examining the consequences of this decision and consulting with the parties and our Quartet and Arab partners. The position of the EU is very clear: settlements are illegal under international law, constitute an obstacle to peace and threaten to make a two-state solution impossible."

NAKED SHORT, ILLEGAL manipulation of silver: more evidence. I hope you get it.
Comment:
Oh, and we were just mentioning George Soros in the previous post: now THAT is a master manipulator of the gold market, telling others to sell ( " there is a bubble in gold') while himself accumulating.
But rest assured: he is not the only one: add JP Morgan, the Fed, etc.
Interesting to see how manipulation of precious metals and anti-democratic, antisemitic forces converge. Bottom line: do not listen to the media, as they are only here to mislead you. DYOD.
More Forensic Evidence of Gold & Silver Price Manipulation
In this article I have unearthed even more forensic evidence in the form of a correlation between the gold and the silver price which again could not happen by random chance. It is necessarily a result of deliberate market intervention and what’s more it occurs on a continuous basis.
The fundamentals that drive the supply and demand of any commodity are so different from one commodity to a next that we would not expect there to be any mathematical relationship between their prices. For example let’s consider gold and copper.
Figure 1 Cross-plot of Copper versus Gold 2001-2010
They are both metals but that is where the similarity ends. Copper is used in many industrial applications for its superb electrical conductivity properties but also it is used for water piping because it is non-toxic, durable and corrosion resistant. Gold on the other hand has almost no industrial uses and is used for storing wealth as an investment and in jewelry fabrication. One would expect that there would be no long term correlation between the price of copper and the price of gold.Figure 1 shows a cross-plot of gold and copper prices from 2001 to 2010. It can be seen that there is no discernible mathematical relationship between the prices of these two metals. The cross-plot of prices looks like someone randomly fired a machine gun at the chart.
Gold and silver are also two metals that have very different supply and demand fundamentals. Only about 10% of mine supply of silver is used for investment purposes while 90% is used in industrial processes from photography, electrical soldering and wiring to batteries and medical applications. One would expect that like copper there would be no particular relationship between gold and silver.
Figure 2 Cross-plot of Silver versus Gold 2003-2008
Figure 2 shows a cross-plot of silver versus gold from June 2003 to September 2008. This chart is absolutely shocking. It shows that gold and silver prices are almost perfectly correlated with an R squared value of 0.96 (1.0 is a perfect correlation). The best fit line to the data gives the relationship thatPOS= 2.23*POG – 253…….…eq(1)
This means that silver prices in this five year period did not move with respect to the very different fundamentals of silver; they were entirely determined by the price of gold! If I had been on a desert island between 2003 and 2008 you could have called me on the phone and told me the price of gold and I could have told you what the price of silver would have been on that day. Let’s demonstrate it.
Let’s take today (September 21) back in 2006. The price of gold was $582.2. From the equation the silver price should be 1045 cents/oz. It was actually 1083 cents/oz so the synthetic price calculation based only on the gold price agrees within 3.5%.
Figure 3 Cross-plot of Silver versus Gold 2008-2010
Figure 3 shows a similar cross-plot but this time the data is from September 2008 to September 2010. It can be seen that yet again there is almost a perfect correlation between the price of gold and the price of silver. In this case the relationship is given byPOS= 1.92*POG – 431…………..eq (2)
Figure 4 shows the data set from June 2003 to September 2010 on the same chart. The two distinct correlations are shown with the black and green lines. Figure 4 Cross-plot of Silver versus Gold 2003-2010
I have already demonstrated in previous articles that the price of gold is suppressed. What this chart demonstrates is that not only is the price of silver manipulated and suppressed but it is done so almost perfectly algorithmically. What can also be deduced is that the price of silver was creating a problem to the manipulators in 2008 so they hammered it down and subsequently instigated a much more aggressive suppression on the price of silver. This can be seen from the fact that since 2008 the correlating line (green line) is below the pre-2008 relationship (black line) and also sports a lower slope. Had the same pre-2008 algorithm been maintained until today the low for silver in 2008 would have been $14/oz and the price today (9/21/2010) with gold at $1288/oz would be $26.19/oz when it is only $20.90/oz.In figure 5 the two equations eq(1) and eq(2) have been used to generate a synthetic price of silver from June 2003 to September 2010. This is the red curve on the chart. This curve is only derived from the price of gold and the correlation equation. There is no input of the price of silver. The real price of silver is charted for comparison and is shown in blue. What is really astounding is that one can generate almost a perfect reproduction of the price of silver by only knowing the price of gold. This is again “smoking gun” forensic evidence that the price of silver is not only manipulated but is done so algorithmically.
Such a perfect relationship with gold could not happen over a seven year period by pure happenstance. The silver price is completely false and has absolutely nothing to do with the fundamentals of silver.
Figure 5 Real & Synthetic Price of Silver 2003-2010
In figure 6 the price of gold and the correlation equations have been used to generate a synthetic gold to silver ratio from June 2003 to September 2010 which is shown in red. The actual gold/silver ratio is also shown. It can be seen that the two data sets match very well. This shows that the ratio only depends on the gold price because this is the only information that was used to generate the red curve. Figure 6 Real & Synthetic Gold/Silver Ratio 2003-2010
This is simply an outrage. The bad news is that for the last seven years those who have been expecting silver to outperform gold or to march to its own drum have been sorely disappointed and it was hard wired into the trading that they were not going to see a freely traded silver market. The good news is that from the way silver has traded in recent days it is decoupling from gold. It is breaking the algorithmic shackles placed on it by the manipulators. There is not enough data to see this definitively in the cross-plots yet but it should be evident very soon. The artificially low price that has resulted from the creation of false supply through the sale of paper silver via unallocated accounts as a substitute for real bullion has led to a growing shortage. This monumental scam is in the process of becoming unraveled as investors insist on taking delivery of real silver.Forward sales of silver through the LBMA OTC London market are approximately 8.5 Billion ozs. This is almost all the entire global reserves of silver that are yet to be mined! But the silver miners who own the remaining reserves are unhedged, so who ever has sold 8.5 billion ozs of silver forward by inference does not own 8.5 billion ozs of silver. It is a naked short position of 11 years of global production.
The interesting question is what will the free market price of silver be? Gold itself is suppressed by many multiples of the current price and the false silver price is just a derivative of a false gold price. I have previously estimated that there is only one ounce of gold for every 45 ozs that have been sold. If a similar relationship exists in silver than the eventual long term free market price target could be more than $900/oz. This is just a wild estimate but I think it is safe to say it will be many multiples of the current outrageously suppressed price of $20.9/oz.

George Soros: time to expose this diseased and dangerous WWII Nazi collaborator once again.
Soros’s Anti-Human-Rights Agenda
Republicans and conservatives must stop leaving the important field
of human rights to anti-American relativists.
Republicans and conservatives must stop leaving the important field
of human rights to anti-American relativists.
This article by Anne Bayefsky appears today on National Review Online. | ||||||||||||
George Soros’s enormous gift of $100 million to the non-governmental organization Human Rights Watch is a serious shot across the bow for Republicans and conservatives. Billionaire Sheldon Adelson once said he would become “the Right’s answer to George Soros,” but he has not. Although “human rights” is the most powerful political currency of our time, no one on the right has stepped up to the plate, and Soros has the playing field to himself. The significance of his gift can be understood only by appreciating the web of connections associated with this human-rights organization and its resulting influence. Thirty years ago, the undisputed leader among international human-rights NGOs was Amnesty International. Founded in order to shine a spotlight on individual prisoners of conscience and victims of torture, Amnesty had a focused purpose and succeeded in pressuring governments and liberating real people. But corrupt governments in developing countries, Communist regimes, and the despotic rulers of Arab and Islamic states pushed back. Under the guise of protecting their sovereignty and natural resources from the ravages of Western imperialism, they commandeered the United Nations, disputed its foundational human-rights framework, and rolled out new and improved “human rights,” such as the right to development, the right of peoples to “international solidarity,” and the right to be free of “the adverse effects of toxic wastes.” No matter that the beneficiaries of such rights were essentially governments and not individuals, or that the rights of women and minorities were then trampled for the sake of maintaining a united front against the West. Amnesty International jumped on the bandwagon. It expanded its original mandate to include rights violations which it says result from globalization, “business,” and a wide gambit of social issues. Amnesty’s leaders, who bear the title of secretary general, harbored an anti-Western bias and a penchant for conceiving of developing countries as sympathetic underdogs whose inability to institute the rule of law was permanently someone else’s fault. In 2005, Secretary General Irene Khan, from Bangladesh, likened Guantanamo Bay to the Soviet Gulag. In 2010, after the head of Amnesty’s gender unit criticized Amnesty for its links to a major supporter of the Taliban, Amnesty reacted by suspending and then severing its relationship with the employee, not by severing its links to the Taliban devotee. Arab and Muslim states were masters at this form of political gamesmanship. Anxious to rid themselves of the presence of a Jewish and democratic state uncomfortably close to them, and worried about the threat that universal human-rights norms posed to their legitimacy, they recast their extremism in terms of human rights. Though one-fifth of Israel’s people are Arabs, and they have more democratic rights than they would in any Arab state, these states accused Israel of apartheid. Arab and Muslim states, meanwhile, rendered themselves Judenrein, outlawed public displays of Christianity, and turned non-Muslims into second-class citizens in the name of protecting cultural rights, religious identity, and “national particularities.” To complete the metamorphosis, the Organization of the Islamic Conference seized effective power at the U.N.’s lead human-rights body, the Human Rights Council. As human rights were being rewritten, the U.S.-based Human Rights Watch wrongly believed it had only two options. It could find itself defending the governments of the United States, Israel, and other allegedly colonialist-imperialist regimes — a tack that seemed to be at odds with the mandate of a human-rights NGO, for which governments are supposedly the adversaries by definition. Or it could join the party, trash Israel and America, and prove its bona fides on the world stage. As Robert Bernstein, the founder of Human Rights Watch and its active chairman for 20 years until 1998, complained in the New York Times last October, Human Rights Watch chose the latter. Bernstein lamented the fact that the organization had jettisoned the crucial distinction between open democratic societies and closed societies, between societies that are willing to acknowledge and correct abuses and ones that deny and ignore them. Distancing itself from its American roots and embracing the timeworn strategy of scapegoating Jews, the organization began to rival the made-over Amnesty. Human Rights Watch defended the U.N.’s “anti-racism” Durban Declaration despite its blatant discrimination against Israel and cast its lot with those who have painted the defenders of Jewish self-determination as racists. HRW supported the U.N.’s Goldstone report, a modern-day blood libel that claims Israel “deliberately” aimed to murder Palestinian civilians under the guise of defending its own people against Hamas terror. HRW championed the U.N. Human Rights Council and strongly advocated U.S. membership, in the full knowledge that the council has adopted more resolutions and decisions condemning Israel than all the other 191 U.N. member states combined. Last year, representatives of Human Rights Watch unashamedly traveled to one of the world’s worst human-rights abusers, Saudi Arabia, to raise money by casting the organization as an antidote to what they labeled “pro-Israel pressure groups.” Since HRW had, as Bernstein put it, itself produced “far more condemnations of Israel . . . than of any other country in the region,” he rightly concluded that it had turned its back on its founding mission and significantly diminished its moral force. Why, then, did George Soros deem it worthy of the largest gift he has ever made? Because Soros has recognized what Republicans ignore at their peril — namely, the power of human-rights claims, legitimate or not. Soros, logged as one of President Obama’s frequent White House guests, appreciates that a human-rights mantra, particularly when amplified with the U.N.’s global megaphone, is a formidable tool for manipulating public policy. A tool, mind you, and not a principle. President Obama has styled himself a champion of the victims of human-rights violations. But he is the president who went to Egypt and spoke in support of Muslim women who want to cover their bodies while saying nothing in defense of those who want the freedom to do otherwise. He is the president who has let Iranian dissidents die in vain. The president who keeps mumbling about reset buttons while Russian human-rights defenders are systematically eliminated. The U.N.’s Human Rights Council — which, in its earlier incarnation, was once presided over by Eleanor Roosevelt — opened its current session this week in Geneva with Libya taking a seat as a full-fledged voting member. Next week the General Assembly, which once adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, will again permit a call for the destruction of Israel to be made from its podium, as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad delivers his annual diatribe about Jewish global domination. And outside the General Assembly Hall, the only NGO allowed to speak at microphones reserved for states is Human Rights Watch — which has specialized in delivering congratulatory messages to the U.N. So Soros’s acquisition of Human Rights Watch, coupled with his legendary support of the Democratic party and the United Nations, creates the perfect storm. He has brought together the unelected, unaccountable NGO claiming to represent “civil society,” the Democratic party and its sitting president, and the world’s chief global organization, each supportive of the others in a plethora of financial and personal interrelationships, and all sharing common goals: diminishing American power and mothballing the idea of unadulterated universal values. Soros makes no attempt to hide his agenda. As he wrote in The Bubble of American Supremacy: “People have different views and . . . nobody is in possession of the ultimate truth . . . [P]eople are supposed to decide for themselves what they mean by freedom and democracy. . . . What goes on within individual states can be of vital interest to the rest of the world, but the principle of sovereignty militates against interfering in their internal affairs.” The same speech has been made by China and Cuba and thugs the world over. Soros’s view is the antithesis of human-rights protection. It directly contradicts the vision of common, inviolable rights and freedoms, which the visionaries who founded America, the United Nations, and Human Rights Watch understood. It is high time to launch an equally well-endowed human-rights organization not beholden to the rapacious relativism and anti-Americanism of George Soros. .... And speaking about the devil...:

Arabs Harass Female 'Peace' Activists; Left Silences Victims
Tishrei 13, 5771, 21 September 10 07:47
by Gil RonenRoni Aloni Sedovnik, a feminist activist, penned an article in News1 – an independent website run by respected investigative reporter Yoav Yitzchak – under the heading “The Left's Betrayal of Female Peace Activists Who were Sexually Assaulted.”
“A nauseous atrocity has been going on for a long time behind the scenes at the leftists' demonstration at Bil'in, Naalin and Sheikh Jarrah [Shimon HaTzaddik],” she writes. “A dark secret that threatens to smash the basic ideological values upon which the demand to end the occupation of the Territories rests.”
It turns out, she explains, that when female peace activists from Israel and abroad come out to Judea and Samaria and demonstrate against the Israeli “occupation,” they are assaulted sexually by the Arab men whom they have come to help. These are not isolated incidents, Aloni-Sedovnik stresses. Rather, this is an “ongoing and widespread” phenomenon that includes verbal and physical abuse. She accuses the 'peace' camp of purposely covering up the trend so as not to offend “the Palestinians and their heritage, which sees women as sexual objects.”
Media cover-up
Aloni-Sedovnik cites two specific cases which she has knowledge of – one is a case of rape and another is “severe sexual harassment.” The attackers in both cases, she stresses, were familiar with the victims and knew that they were “peace activists.”
The rape occurred several months ago in the village of Umm Salmona, near Bethlehem. The victim, an American activist, wanted to press charges but leftist activists put pressure on her not to do so, so as not to damage the struggle against the 'occupation.'
The second case involved an Israeli activist who took part in the demonstrations at Shimon HaTzaddik neighborhood in eastern Jerusalem, where the High Court ruled that Jewish families may move into homes that they have owned for generations. This woman filed a complaint with the police but retracted it after “severe and unfair pressure” from the demonstrations' organizers, according to Aloni-Sedovnik. Furthermore, the organizers appealed to demonstrators to dress modestly when they come to the Arab neighborhoods and suggested that they wear head scarves.
Aloni-Sedovnik accuses the Israeli media of complicity in the cover-up.
“How is it that we do not hear the voice of the radical feminists who repeat, day and night, that occupation is occupation, and it does not matter if it is a nation that is doing the subjugation, or a man who is subjugating a woman? The Umm Salmona case was reported in Haaretz as an attempted rape but does not seem to have made it beyond the blog pages.
"It appears that there is a gap between the radical-leftist feminist theory about the active resistance to the occupation of the Territories, and the stuttering self-annulment in the face of the violent conquest of women.”
Foreign women raped and subjugated
Earlier this year, a blogger and literature buff named Yehudah Bello, who writes in various venues about history and the theory of evolution, wrote a blog post with the striking title: “The Female Leftist Activists are Raped Day after Day, Night after Night.” Bello is no ultra-nationalist, and he supports the creation of a PA state – a fact which makes his claims all the more believable.
Most female leftist European activists, writes Bello, are brainwashed in their youth into hating Israel, and then sent directly into Judea and Samaria, without spending a single night in Tel Aviv, lest they see civilian Israeli society for themselves and find that they like it. They are whisked off to Shechem, Jenin and other PA towns and housed in Arab educational or cultural facilities, or private homes. Local Arab girls are sent to befriend them and they have no choice but to trust them.
It is is easy, explains Bello, “to carry out a sexual crime against a foreign girl, in her first days away from her family, in a place where no police have ever visited. And this is what happens, and has happened.”
"I was told of such rape cases by women who are not Jewish: a female European leftist activist, a female Red Cross volunteer and a young Arab woman from Yafo,” he says. He says that he met these women when he carried out IDF reserve duty, and met them afterward as well. “They told me what goes on there, in the Palestinian villages, far from any prying eye.”
"These are not just cases of rape carried out to satisfy lust,” he writes. “Usually, they are carried out systematically in order to make the girl pregnant and then take her as a wife – after she converts to Islam, of course. We know about this system from the stories of women who underwent a similar process within Israel and escaped to Europe. But it is hard to escape from the Palestinian territories. Sometimes these women – some of whom are no longer young – are never allowed to leave their homes unaccompanied, in order to forestall their escape.”
If someone were to compare the list of foreign female activists who enter Judea and Samaria to the list of those who leave, Bello claims, the magnitude of the phenomenon would be proven. “Everyone knows about it, but no one dares talk about it. The Palestinians have been turned into martyrs. In the Middle Eastern television channels, IDF soldiers are represented as the brutal rapists, who rape Palestinian women.”
New Israel Fund involvement
The reports by Aloni-Sedovnik and Bello are of particular interest because feminist groups have been spearheading leftist activism in Israel for many years. According to Gila Svirsky, the former director of the New Israel Fund in Israel and founder of NIF-sponsored Women's Coalition for Peace, “women’s peace organizations, known collectively as the Israeli women’s peace movement, became the most vibrant and persistent part of the peace camp in Israel.” These groups espouse an ideology which equates militarism (by Israelis) with male domination of women. Far from being a fringe element, leftist-feminists of this ilk are a dominant force in the Israeli academic world, the press, the Knesset and the judicial system.

Political Earthquake Shakes Up Sweden
By STEPHEN CASTLE
STOCKHOLM — Worthy, high-minded and often utterly predictable, Swedish politics has rarely offered much by way of excitement. Now an electoral earthquake seems to have changed all that.Elections on Sunday gave an anti-immigration party its first parliamentary seats and deprived the governing coalition of its majority, plunging the country into rare political instability.
Meanwhile the Social Democrats, architects of the modern Swedish state and one of Europe’s most successful political parties, recorded their worst performance since World War I.
Behind the upheaval lie structural changes in Swedish politics and a battle over how to preserve the cradle-to-grave welfare system.
Though the success of the center-right suggests a long-term shift in politics, analysts say Swedes remain deeply attached to their welfare system and want change to be gradual, not radical.
Despite failing to secure a majority, the prime minister, Fredrik Reinfeldt, is likely to become the first center-right leader to win two consecutive terms.
He pleaded Monday for time to let the election result “sink in” and promised to have a government, which could well be a minority one, in place by Oct. 4. He appeared to be courting the Greens, who campaigned against him, and their initial response proved negative.
Mr. Reinfeldt’s options are limited, because he pledged not to work with the anti-immigration party, Sweden Democrats, whose leader, Jimmie Akesson, described Muslim population growth as the biggest external threat to his country since World War II.
Doing a deal with Mr. Akesson would, in any event, not be logical for Mr. Reinfeldt, whose success has been built on moving to the center ground. Only in that way has he managed to tame the Social Democrats, who for most of the last century had one of the most effective vote-winning political machines in Western Europe. Their political philosophy forged a nation with high taxes and a generous social safety net.
“There used to be a maxim in Swedish politics that you never won elections by offering to lower taxes,” said Martin Adahl, director of Fores, a center-right research institute. “That was because people would suspect that you were going to cut the welfare state. There has been a change, but people still believe in the welfare system.”
This much was evident during a campaign in which even rightist populists presented themselves as defenders of the welfare system, albeit in their case for white Swedes rather than immigrants. A television advertisement, initially banned by one broadcaster on the ground of racism, portrayed a stampede of Muslim women in burqas defeating a white retiree in a race for welfare payments.
The mainstream center-right parties, including Mr. Reinfeldt’s, the Moderates, acknowledged the importance of welfare, too. The Moderate Party, which once modeled itself after Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher, is now careful to stress its centrist credentials.
Though Mr. Reinfeldt’s government curbed some benefits, most notably for those claiming to be too sick to work, he was careful not to present himself as a radical reformer. During the campaign, Mona Sahlin, leader of the Social Democrats, was at her most effective when health care became a central issue.
Ursula Berge, political director of a white-collar Swedish trade union, Akademikerforbundet SSR, said that the message from the Moderates to the electorate has been that they “want to keep the welfare state the way it is, just to change some small things like cheating by people who claim they are sick but are able to work.”
While Mr. Reinfeldt moved to the center, he was also helped by a weakening of traditional allegiances among Swedish voters.
“There used to be a middle class that voted very solidly for the Social Democrats but there is now a rather large part of the middle class that is outward oriented, mainly employed in the services sector, that is not prepared to take for granted that the Social Democrats represent them anymore,” Mr. Adahl said.
But other factors aided the center-right, too. During testing times for the Swedish economy, Mr. Reinfeldt’s government coped well. That allowed it to steal the clothes of the Social Democrats, who were once regarded as the safest guardians of the economy.
For their part, the Social Democrats failed to react partly because, throughout much of the past four years, they were ahead in opinion polls — something that reduced their incentive to change.
“The Social Democratic Party has not renewed their politics,” Ms. Berge said. “They were comfortable with their level of support and they didn’t have the courage to change policy.”
With the two main parties battling on similar terrain and with ideological dividing lines blurred, that left an opening for the Sweden Democrats, who have capitalized on tensions raised by the loss of industrial jobs and the rise in immigration.
“If you are an angry young man, you had to choose between a cuddly conservative and an urbane, politically correct woman,” Mr. Adahl said. It was, he added, little surprise that some opted instead for Mr. Akesson.
But the mainstream politicians remain committed to the traditional social model, albeit a slightly less generous one. Here in Sweden, when people come to vote, welfare remains more important than their wealth.
Assuming he can form a government, Mr. Reinfeldt will limit himself to reforms that underline that there is a “greater moral and economic difference between being on welfare and being in work,” Mr. Adahl said. “It’s not a revolution; it’s definitely an evolution.”

About gold's meteoric rise despite ongoing central banks price suppression. Bottom line: don't believe the media!
NB: the videos are two years old, but the manipulation, in particular re: the price of silver, is ongoing and severe:
Silver's History of Suppression
Jeff Nielson
06/18/10 - 12:22 PM EDT
By Jeff Nielson of Bullion Bulls Canada Sophisticated precious metals investors are well-aware of the rampant manipulation of the gold and silver markets. They are also generally aware of the reason for such manipulation. A rapid rise in the price of gold and silver is like an economic "warning siren" -- alerting savers that their wealth (i.e. the purchasing power of their currency) is being rapidly eroded by the monetary depravity of bankers. At the same time that the bankers were trying to prop up the U.S. dollar while on the gold standard, these same bankers (and their allies in government) were making their first efforts to defuse a "silver supply crisis" -- caused by pricing silver at only a fraction of its true worth. In the 1960's, the U.S. government had kept the price of silver frozen at $1.29/oz. However, whenever an asset is under-priced, there will always be a group of investors who will identify such an under-priced asset -- and then accumulate it. Thus, the U.S. and other governments were rapidly squandering their entire stockpiles of silver, as they had to dump ever-increasing amounts onto the market to maintain the artificially low price.
Ultimately, the bankers capitulated, and the U.S. government ceased its efforts to keep the price of silver frozen at $1.29. However, as is usually the case with any illegitimate scheme, every time the schemers take action to deal with one flaw in their plans, that produces unintended (and undesirable) consequences -- which then require further acts of manipulation.
Once the price of silver was allowed to rise, very quickly the actual value of the silver contained in our small denomination coins (primarily the 10-cent and 25-cent pieces) greatly exceeded their face-value as legal tender. This created a huge incentive to melt-down these coins and make a very profitable arbitrage trade of "buying" these coins at their face value, and then selling them for their metal content.
The U.S. government responded in two ways (and was quickly copied by the Canadian government). First, it changed the composition of all newly issued coins -- removing all their silver content. U.S. dimes had 90% silver-content up until 1964, while Canadian dimes contained just over 80% silver. Meanwhile, the U.S.'s 1965 Coinage Act made it a crime to melt-down any legal tender coins (in order to profit on their metal-content), and a duplicate measure was passed in Canada. Consider the true dynamics of this measure.
First the bankers abolish the gold standard, to allow them to rapidly accelerate the speed at which they steal from us through currency-dilution. This, in turn, requires them to (illegally) manipulate the gold and silver markets -- in order to hide the true value of these metals from being expressed in the bankers' diluted paper. The government then makes it a "crime" for its own citizens to make a profit on their own money. In the bankers' scam of money-dilution, only the bankers are allowed to profit on their crimes.
It was at this point in history that the bankers were able to largely forget about manipulating the silver market (for many years), and to focus their energies on gold-manipulation -- because basic market fundamentals created conditions that depressed the price of silver, with only minimal "assistance" from the bankers (and their servants in government).
Clearly the price of silver has been driven in recent decades mostly by its industrial demand. And it is this industrial demand which (with a little help from the bankers) kept the price of silver well below its true value for more than thirty years (until early in this decade).
This leads us to a fundamental "truth" in the precious metals sector: investment demand (i.e. "speculative" demand) does not stimulate mine production (except in a very belated manner -- only after inventories have been exhausted), while industrial demand does stimulate higher levels of mine production, because the bankers will finance new mine-production based upon that level of industrial use. As an aside, it was because gold is not used to a great degree "industrially" that the bankers had to "persuade" the world's largest gold miners to enter into vast "hedging agreements" -- which simulated the same market conditions for gold: maximizing production at the lowest, possible price.
In a true "equilibrium", this industrial production and demand would not cause silver to trade at a price well below its fair-market (equilibrium) value. However, the bankers ensured that the silver market could never reach such an equilibrium by continuing to dump their waning stockpiles of silver onto the market.
As I have pointed out on many occasions, between 1990 and 2005, official silver inventories plummeted by approximately 90%. It is simple economics that any good which is grossly under-priced will be grossly over-consumed. Faced with the abrupt end to their silver-manipulation (which would make it much more difficult to continue to manipulate the gold market), the bankers fell back upon their oldest and most-favorite swindle: they sold paper to people, and pretended that the paper represented actual silver -- and thus SLV(SLV) was born.
This is such an obvious sham that I simply lack the space to go until all of the clearly fraudulent implications of this fund, so I will restrict myself to just a couple of facets. From 2005 to the end of 2008, after silver inventories plummeted by 90% in just 15 years (due to being grossly under-priced), we are supposed to believe that inventories suddenly 'made a U-turn' -- and tripled over the course of just four years.
Regular readers will be familiar with the following chart, which shows the progression of "official" silver inventories -- along with the small caveat attached to the graph. These official inventories include every ounce of ETF-silver, and SLV (by far the largest silver-ETF) was created at the beginning of 2006. As of the beginning of 2009, ETF-holdings represented roughly 2/3 of total "official inventories".
Anyone with even a slight understanding of markets should recognize the obvious sham here. An "inventory" is the amount of a particular good warehoused and ready-for-sale. Conversely, the units of SLV (and all other bullion-ETF's) represent privately-owned silver which has obviously been taken off the market. As a matter of elementary logic, it is impossible for even one ounce of silver to be both an "inventory" and an "ETF". It can be one (silver-for-sale) or the other (privately-owned) but not both. Thus, at the end of 2008, two-thirds of official, global inventories of silver were nothing but an obvious paper-sham.
Making this massive fraud potentially much more egregious, the supposed "custodian" for most of this silver is JPMorgan, which holds the world's largest "short" position in silver, the most-concentrated position in the history of commodities markets. In what is obviously not a "coincidence" the total size of the global short position has stayed roughly equal to the (supposed) total holdings of "bullion-ETF's." However, those massive short positions are never audited, meaning that JPMorgan (and the other bullion-banks) have never been able to show they have more than half the silver necessary to cover both their short-positions and "custodian agreements" with the ETF's.
What this directly implies is that as of 2009, as much as 2/3 of total global inventories of "silver" was literally nothing but banker-paper -- and we can only assume that their massive fraud has expanded in the time that has since elapsed. While industrial demand for silver helped the banksters in their nefarious (and illegal) schemes for many years, it is now industrial demand which is certain to destroy the bullion-banks.
While a gold investor might be capable of being duped into buying banker-paper, and mistakenly believe that the banker-paper is "as good as gold," you can't use banker-paper to make silver bearings, or silver mirrors, or silver batteries, or silver solar cells, or silver anti-bacterial products. The bankers' market-manipulation has progressed from merely dumping the silver which they held, to the much more fraudulent practice of passing off their worthless paper as "bullion".
In doing so, they have eliminated the possibility of the price of silver merely "correcting." What has become totally inevitable after 50 years of constant manipulation of the silver market is that this market is poised for the most spectacular default in the history of commodities markets -- even more so than in the gold market. Companies that require silver to continue the existence of their businesses will be ready to bid up the price of the commodity to multiples many times greater than an investor merely making a discretionary purchase.

So, what did you expect? Should Americans tolerate abuse silently, while the Muslim world is aflame in hatred, and Muslims have no compunction whatsoever destroying both American symbols and real life Americans? Thank God, there are some real men left in the U.S.A....
And now it's time for the Jews, in particular Israeli Jews, to learn from their American friends.

IN SECRET... or so they hoped: planning the mass murder of Jews of Judea and Samaria. GUILTY: Benedikt, Obama, Peres, Barak and Bibi, Abbas, and all their little friends.

B"H
Summary and introduction:
To all,
First of all , Kethiva Vechatima Tova, Shana Tova Umetuka to all our readers. May we all have a great year filled with blessings and strength, and may we all, finally this year, get rid of all our many internal and external enemies.
I wanted to finish this long paper before Rosh Hashanah, with the hope that you will at least have the time to read this summary, and maybe after the Chag delve in depth in what I am sharing with you here.
The essence of this article is as follows ( and please refer to my many previous articles on the subject by searching for key words: ISRAEL TRUTH TIMES is a treasure trove of information on the topic)
We are being massively betrayed by Bibi, Barak, Shimon Peres re: our security in Yesha, and regarding Jerusalem. This is still a continuation of the predicament we have found ourselves in since Yossi Beilin and Shimon Peres treacherously and secretly entered into negotiations for a Bilateral Agreement with the Vatican regarding Jerusalem, internationalization of our holiest places, Har Habayit, and all of Jerusalem, under pressure from Joseph Ratzinger a.k.a. Benedikt II. Benedikt is using violence to attain his goal of sovereignty over Jerusalem, all the while, as usual, pretending to be the nice and loving shepherd who only knows peace.
As you read the information below, you will see how the whole process is being controlled from Rome , by Benedikt, with great assistance from Washington, via Obama and his minions. As we speak, in great secrecy, Bibi and Barak are selling our very lives to the enemy - what do they expect for themselves: salvation? money?power? all of the above? We have passed the eleventh hour, things are getting worse by the day. Unless we make a sharp and clear cut, and reject all of these traitors- monsters completely, Jews will die en masse, and Jerusalem will be lost.
This article proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that the government of Israel is an ACCOMPLICE to the criminal plans of our enemies, the Vatican, Washington, the UN, NATO, and of course the Arabs and their Muslim and left-wing allies. But chief among all is BENEDIKT, who is BEHIND OSLO, and who has manipulated the whole process from day one, and continues to do so, with the help of his buddy SHIMON PERES.
Of course, let us not forget this diseased, self-hating breed coming out of the shadows either:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/George-Soros-gives-100M-to-apf-2633350744.html?x=0&sec=topStories&pos=main&asset=&ccode=
Bibi, under duress - and it seems, willingly as well -, has become the willing executioner; and Barak is the DICTATOR who, unless we stop him, will take over all of Israel, for ample financial reward and absolute dictatorial powers.
Taking all of this into account, the new Nana Tea Party of Israel has released a proclamation, which I will post after the Chag.
Shall we have courage in the New Year, and do what NEEDS TO BE DONE, so we survive?
I hope so.
With blessings.
DS

- Barak Meets Abbas in Jordan in Secret ‘Direct Talks’
Elul 21, 5770, 31 August 10 08:37
(Israelnationalnews.com) Defense Minister Ehud Barak flew to Jordan twice this week—once to talk with King Abdullah and then return home to update Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, and a second time for secret talks with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
- Barak: Reduce Security in Yesha as Gesture to PA
Elul 21, 5770, 31 August 10 13:45
Tuesday:
(Israelnationalnews.com) Defense Minister Ehud Barak met with PA Chief Mahmud Abbas in Amman on Monday. During the meeting Barak said he would reduce security measures in Judea and Samaria, as a gesture to the PA, on the eve of direct talks with Israel.
Local residents have protested that easing security in the past has lead to increased terror attacks against Jewish civilians.
- Terror Attack Near Hevron
Elul 21, 5770, 31 August 10 19:57
(Israelnationalnews.com) Initial reports Tuesday night said that at least four people were killed in a terrorist attack at the Bnai Naim junction near Hevron. A fifth person is in critical condition, and doctors are trying to revive him.
Army officials lie regarding the recent attacks – to divert Jewish outrage
...For now, these imported terrorists are at large on West Bank roads, exploiting the removal of a great many Israeli security roadblocks and checkpoints in an effort to ease Palestinian movements. The only way to stall them, therefore, is to follow the advice of counter-terror experts and restore the roadblocks. Until this is done, Hamas will be free to strike at will and eventually take its terrorist campaign against the Washington talks into the Israeli heartland.
The problem is that Israel's leaders, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gaby Ashkenazi oppose reinstalling the checkpoints and roadblocks for as long as the US-sponsored talks with the Palestinians continue.
Hamas' tacticians are fully aware of Israel's diplomatic constraints and exploiting them to the full, ordering their terror squads to keep going in the hope of sabotaging the negotiations.
All this makes a mockery of Netanyahu's directive to the IDF and security services to hunt down and punish the perpetrators of the Hebron attack irrespective of diplomatic considerations. For as long as the IDF and Shin Bet are groping in the dark for leads to the assailants and are prevented from physically controlling the road movements of the drive-by shooters, diplomatic considerations are clearly trumping operational needs.
- Voice of Judea, Sept.2nd: ( we see below that Hamas is also in cahoot with the government of Israel. However, it seems possible that the PA, armed to the teeth by the US and Israel, and working together with Israeli intelligence, is the actual culprit this time too. Did Abbas give the order after being briefed by Barak that there would be no security on the roads? Either way, the gov. of Israel, in particular Barak, is guilty)
Army officials lie regarding the recent attacks – to divert Jewish outrage
The press release sent by the head officer in charge of IDF troops in Judea and Samaria was contradicted by Rabbi Marano the victim of the attack. The IDF had published that Rabbi Marano and his wife were injured in a drive-by shooting and that the Arab terrorists did not return to the Jewish car to confirm the death of the victims. Marano had a very different story indeed, stating that the Arabs did return to the car after shooting 20 bullets into the car and injuring him and his wife. The car had flipped over, and rolled behind a boulder off the road, where the Rabbi miraculously grabbed his wife and rolled out of the car, rolling to a safe and camouflaged spot. The Arabs returned to the car, stealing documents and other belongings and opened fire again on the couple. It was only the jamming of a weapon that had saved them, according to the eyewitness testimony of Rabbi Marano.
Voice of Judea Commentary:
The IDF issued a similar release after the fatal murder of the four Jews near Beit Chagai, to bring calm to the Jewish residents of Yesha, as if to say: Don’t worry, you might survive even if you are attacked, it is not like the Arabs are so brazen that they will come back to the car and confirm your death, they are not that sophisticated. Oops, Rabbi Marano actually survived to tell us the real story. Yes, the Arabs are that sophisticated, and yes, they are not particularly frightened of the IDF or “settler” response to the point that they would rush away from the scene of their barbaric attack against Jews. They have nothing to fear. At worst, they will get arrested and soon released in some insane exchange of 1000 terrorist prisoners for one Jew, and in the meantime in their Israeli prison they could get an academic education and live in a five-star hotel prison.
Additionally, the initial media reports claiming that these were attacks carried out by Hamas, has now been put into question with new sources being leaked to the media that seem to indicate that the terrorists who were caught and charged with the murder near Beit Chagai appear to be members of the official PA police force. This too is nothing new, anyhow, there is no fundamental difference between Hamas and PLO and all of the other terrorist factions, other than the fact that some say and do what they intend to do, all of the time, and others are bit smarter, not openly saying what they intend to do, all of the time.

- Turkey Heads UN Security Council
Elul 24, 5770, 03 September 10 11:45
(Israelnationalnews.com) Turkey assumed the rotating presidency of the United Nations Security Council for the month of September on Thursday. Turkish UN ambassador Ertugrul Apakan took over the rotating presidency from his Russian counterpart, Vitaly Churkin, who held the position for the month of August.
The presidency rotates among council members in the English alphabetical order of their country names. Turkey is about halfway through its term as a non-permanent member of the council.

- Pope and Peres hopeful that Washington talks will lead to peace in the Holy Land
Benedict XVI and the Israeli president call for “an agreement that is respectful of the legitimate aspirations of the two peoples.” They also talked about the results of the bilateral working commission that has worked for years on drafting an agreement to settle economic and tax issues. Both men expressed hope for a “rapid conclusion of its work.”
Castel Gandolfo (AsiaNews) – In their meeting this morning, Benedict XVI and Israeli President Shimon Peres expressed hope that Israeli-Palestinian talks in Washington may help Israelis and Palestinians reach “an agreement that is respectful of the legitimate aspirations of the two Peoples and capable of bringing lasting peace to the Holy Land and to the entire region.” A press release by the Vatican also made further reference to renewed talks, reaffirming in order to condemn “all forms of violence and the necessity of guaranteeing better conditions of life to all the peoples of the area”.
The two men, who have known each other for some time, met in a “cordial atmosphere”. Their previous meetings took place in the Vatican in April 2006 and September 2007 and in Israel in 2009 during the papal pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
Referring to the Pope’s visit and to the situation of the Catholic Church in Israel, the Vatican statement said, “The discussions also permitted the examination of the relations between the State of Israel and the Holy See and those of the state authorities with the local Catholic communities. In this regard, it was underlined the great particular significance of the presence of these communities in the Holy Land and the contribution which they offer for the common good of society, also through Catholic schools. Finally, the results, thus far, of the bilateral working Commission, which has for many years been tasked with the drafting of an Accord concerning economic matters, were noted while at the same time expressing the hope for the rapid conclusion of its work.”
Peres landed in Rome from Tel Aviv just before 9 am. From there, he was quickly taken to Castel Gandolfo, where Benedict XVI is currently staying, along with five aides, including two women.
The president, who also visited the gardens of the Pontifical Villas, first met for half hour with the Cardinal Secretary of State, His Eminence Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, and the Secretary for Relations with States, Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, before his audience with the Pope.
The private meeting, held in English, between Shimon Peres and Benedict XVI lasted about 40 minutes. At the end, the president gave the Pope a menorah, the traditional Jewish seven-branched candelabrum. Made by an Israeli artist, the 30-centimetre object is in silver, and has an inscription that reads, “To his Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, the shepherd who seeks to lead us to the fields of blessings and the fields of peace. With great esteem, Shimon Peres, president of the State of Israel.”
The pope in return gave Peres a bronze medal copy of the one placed by Pope Alexander VII in 1657 on the first stone of the colonnade on the north side of Saint Peter's basilica at the Vatican. The medal shows Bernini’s initial plan for Saint Peter’s Square.

17:55 - PAPA-PERES: MONS.
" ...in view of the ( upcoming) Synod of Bishops for the Middle East, having offered a beautiful picture of how the links between Judaism and Christianity should be.The Israeli president - said Msgr. Shomali - can reassure the Israeli public that the Synod does not intend to be political, but wants to talk about peace, dialogue, faith and religion. The Synod is not the place for politics"
What is this upcoming Synod? "Not political"? While the pope recommends involving religion in the peace process?
I also want to remind you of the intense incitement against Israel that followed the World Council of Churches' campaign about Gaza, which had been initiated by Benedikt during his visit to Israel in 2009. A week later Obama went to Cairo to deliver his fiery speech. Anti-Israel and antisemitic sentiment increased multifold after these carefully orchestrated events. Is this what we can expect from the upcoming synod of bishops? A repeat of last year? Frankly I would not be surprised the least bit. Listen to the interview on the Barry Chamish show ( link provided in the introduction) for more information on the topic.

- Peres, Pope to Discuss Peace Talks
Elul 23, 5770, 02 September 10 08:12

(Israelnationalnews.com) President Shimon Peres plans to meet Thursday with Pope Benedict XVI in Italy. The two are to discuss the peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
In addition, the two will talk about captive Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, Iran's nuclear program, and ties between Israel and the Vatican.
Peres met Wednesday with Gilad Shalit's parents, Noam and Aviva, in advance of his meeting with the Pope. “We must never lose hope, we must continue to fight for Gilad's return,” he said.
Shalit's parents have led a campaign to bring their son home even at the expense of releasing many hundreds of convicted terrorists, including those responsible for multiple murders. Peres praised the two for their struggle, saying, “I am proud of the noble way in which you are struggling to bring back your son Gilad, and I am proud of the Israeli public for standing at your side.”
Shalit's parents asked the president to use his influence to push for Gilad's release.
After meeting with the Pope, Peres plans to remain in Italy over the weekend to attend an economic and diplomatic conference and to defend Israel in the media ( and I want to buy the Brooklyn Bridge).

- Peres Tells Pope: Abbas is Serious About Peace
Elul 23, 5770, 02 September 10 08:54
by Maayana Miskin
(Israelnationalnews.com) Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is serious about making peace with Israel, President Shimon Peres said Thursday in a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI. “All the leaders involved... are serious in their intentions and understand the seriousness and supreme importance of achieving peace,” he said.
“The alternative to peace is a radical and dangerous Iranian hegemony in the entire Middle East,” Peres warned.
The Pope told Peres that he is praying for peace. A peace deal between Israel and the PA would have “world-wide historical value,” he emphasized.
He called to increase religious involvement in the peace process. All faiths should give religious and spiritual support to negotiations, he said.
Peres mentioned Iran's nuclear program, and said that allowing Iran's leaders to obtain nuclear weapons “borders on global suicide.” Iran seeks to take over moderate countries in the Middle East, he said. “We are talking about pure imperialism that uses religion as a disguise.”
Peres also asked the Pope for assistance in securing the release of kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. Pope Benedict XVI said he would do what he could to help.
The Pope condemned the two shooting attacks in Judea and Samaria this week in which four people were killed and two wounded.
(Israelnationalnews.com) President Shimon Peres said Sunday night that the real conflict in the Middle East was not between Israel and the PA, but between Iran and the Arab world. Peres said Iran wanted to become a regional power with a religious cloak and that she has become very aggressive. Therefore, added Peres, Prime Minister Netanyahu was right at the summit in Washington to make concessions to the Arab residents of Judea and Samaria.

- PM: I Can Work With Abbas

(Israelnationalnews.com) Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke optimistically at Sunday's cabinet meeting on the possibility of a deal between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Speaking to ministers, Netanyahu said the Arab world was ready for an agreement with Israel. “They realize what the alternatives are, and they realize we must come to an agreement. I had the opportunity to speak privately to Abbas, and I believe we will be able to have a direct and reliable relationship. I suggested meeting once every two weeks. What we need now is not a plethora of committees, but a willingness by leaders to make decisions,” Netanyahu said.
The PA chairman himself, Mahmoud Abbas, has often stated that he objects to any Jews living in a PA state – and has even announced that he would not accept Jewish soldiers in a NATO force sent to protect a future Israeli-Arab peace.
"I'm willing to agree to a third party that would supervise the agreement, such as NATO forces,” Abbas was quoted as saying by the PA Wafa news agency, “but I would not agree to having Jews among the NATO forces, or that there will live among us even a single Israeli on Palestinian land.” His aide later said that Abbas retracted his opposition to Jewish soldiers in a NATO force.

- 11.07.10 ANALYSIS / Obama has ways and means to check on Netanyahu
The argument the Israeli prime minister is presenting in Washington is not the only one going.
By Amir OrenThe reserve brigadier generals are civilians who do not pretend to represent the government of Israel or its military. Why was Rear Admiral John Sigler, who heads the Middle East research institute at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, so cautious about exposure of his meeting with Shlomo Brom, Udi Dekel and Baruch Spiegel, along with retired Foreign Ministry envoys? Is there a connection to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's meetings with President Barack Obama and top American administration people in Washington?
The White House staff prepared the public part of the hosting of Netanyahu by the book: smiles and handshakes - check; talk about our wonderful relations - check; a distinction between the good Israeli atom and the bad Iranian atom - check; hugs for Sara - check.
The U.S. administration really is committed to Israel's security but not to hanging on to the territories or the Jewish settlements. Obama is trying to clarify whether in the dispute between the two approaches Netanyahu truly represents the majority in Israel. He can get a partial answer, for example, in meetings between Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Michael Mullen and Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi or the meeting between Sigler and the retired officers in Rome.
The demonstrable warmth in Obama's reception of Netanyahu is at most one third of the story. Another third is the American communications channel with other Israelis, and the remaining third is the channel the United States has with Arab figures, who hear from Obama and his envoys messages that are not identical to those Netanyahu is trying to emphasize in Washington.
Brom and Dekel served with air force intelligence and the general staff planning branch. Spiegel was the liaison officer to foreign forces, deputy coordinator of activities in the territories and an adviser to the defense minister. The possible alternatives for bargaining with the Palestinians, the Syrians and the Lebanese can come as no surprise to them: They formulated the headquarters document that gets passed from one chief of staff to the next, from one defense minister to the next and from one prime minister to the next.
When Netanyahu tells Obama there is something he can't do because it would be the death of him, experts like the three brigadiers general can map out Israel's ranges of flexibility to Sigler, and through him pass them along to Mullen and thus to Obama. Sigler, a retired senior naval officer, heads an institute attached to the National Defense University in Washington (the research and education institution directly under the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff ). The regional institutes provide data and infrastructure for meetings with various elements, including those prohibited to diplomats, such as Hamas. This is a means for the two-way transmission of messages.
Another benefit, which is not unique to the NDU, derives from the education of foreign officer cadres. A lieutenant colonel or colonel who spends a year at such an institution soaks up America's power and acquires a proportionate approach to his own country's place in the universe. Today the top echelon of the Israel Defense Force boasts about a dozen officers who studied at American military colleges and/or served as military attaches at the embassy in Washington and its offshoots, including C-o-S Ashkenazi.
In their many conversations Mullen and Ashkenazi discuss security - heaven forbid, they would discuss politics - and exchange data and professional analyses. Were the veteran naval officer called upon to testify before the Turkel committee, he would say the Americans, too, lack the means for stopping a large ship like the Mavi Marmara without a takeover by fighters and friction with the passengers.
Mullen is able to explain the American problems in Israel effectively, and vice versa. However, since discussion of certain matters is prohibited to officers in uniform, there is scope for channels like the one Sigler set up with Brom, Dekel and Spiegel.
At the Jerusalem Conference last February, Sigler overflowed with friendliness toward Israel ("My father was Jewish" ) and expressed the hope it would reestablish its deterrent power. The word "victory," said Sigler, differs in meaning in different contexts. Israel will win if it continues to flourish, in the far future as well, as a strong democratic and Jewish country.
At the Pentagon they are far from seeing Israel as one of the major problems in the Middle East, but it's enough that Israel also contributes to the perpetuation of the problem - the danger of extremist Islam - and not only to its solution. Is Israel and an asset or a burden? The answer is both - a tactical asset, a strategic burden.
Last month's American air force magazine referred to the 1966 operation in which the Mossad lured a MiG-21 pilot to defect from Iraq with his plane. The MiG was examined by Israel's air force and then lent to the Americans to be examined, tested and brought into in air maneuvers. Identifying its limitations enabled U.S. fighter pilots to overcome their inferiority in air battles with the North Vietnamese and to end the war with a certain advantage.
This sort of praise for the Israeli military improves, at least among the defense community, the image of Israel's professionalism and the amity between the two countries. In the wake of praise like this, one must note the same magazine issue says the F-35, the next combat aircraft for America and for Israel, can also carry tactical nuclear weapons, bombs and missiles. It is a dual-purpose plane.
Foreign reports say Israel has surface-to-surface missiles and submarine-launch missiles. An American willingness to provide it with an advanced dual-purpose airplane would strengthen its deterrence.
Talking to the Arabs
The Americans also talk to the Arabs. Recently, for example, the transcript of a fascinating conversation was revealed - a December 1975 conversation between the then U.S. secretary of state, Henry Kissinger, and his Algerian counterpart, Abdulaziz Bouteflika, who was 38 at the time and had held the post for 12 years. (Bouteflika is now president of Algeria ).
Kissinger, expressing bitterness about the government of Yitzhak Rabin and his defense minister to his right, Shimon Peres, says: "Public opinion in America is more ready to do something than ever before. But we have a period of about nine months [the run-up to the elections] when we can't do everything.
"The attempt of the Israelis is to create maximum commotion in the Middle East. They think we can't do much to them. That is why they bombed in Lebanon. You saw in The Herald Tribune a report that we asked them to check with us. That isn't what we asked: We said we wouldn't be responsible for the actions they took without consulting us. That is very different. And we protested their settlements on the Golan."
Bouteflika got no satisfaction from Kissinger's words: "The implication which can be drawn [is] that all previous Israeli actions have been with American connivance."
Kissinger: "No, we have never known. They never tell us ahead of time.
"But that is not my major point. My major point is: They are deliberately provocative now. They established settlements; they announce they will never give up more than 200 meters of territory - which is an insult to Syria, because it is Syrian territory... The F-15 we promised a year and a half ago - but there was a delay because of delivery and the reassessment. Then he announced it as a new thing, as a response to Syrian MiG-25s. He did it to provoke the Arabs. It was a lie....
"They want to go back to the 1967-1973 period, when they were our only friend in the Middle East. They know time is running out. They can't get $2 billion a year for many more years. And they know they can't get deliveries on what is voted this year unil 1978-79. So we have all the means of pressure in our hands. That is why they are trying to undermine my authority. But that isn't the main thing.
"The main thing I want to say is the Arabs should show restraint for a year. A war wouldn't be so bad for us - we could show we are tough. The main thing is to make what little progress is possible this year, and work for next year. I say this as a friend."
Bouteflika: "We are grateful."
Kissinger: "Because you have practically won. You must not let yourselves be provoked. The Syrians must understand this, too."
Bouteflika: "You have some problems with them?"
Kissinger: "No. I'm afraid their pride may lead them to do something later on."
Obama is not Kissinger, but who knows what messages his administration is sending the Arabs? One thing is for sure: This didn't appear on the White House page of talking points this week.
Israel's Ruling Class
By: Caroline B. Glick
Date: Wednesday, July 28 2010
In a much discussed article in the current issue of The American Spectator titled "America's Ruling Class," Prof. Angelo Codevilla describes the divide between those who run the U.S. - the politicians, bureaucrats and policy establishment - and the rest of the country.
He laments, "Never has there been so little diversity within America's upper crust."
In his view, the American ruling class "was formed by an educational system that exposed them to the same ideas and gave them remarkably uniform guidance, as well as tastes and habits. These amount to a social canon of judgments about good and evil, complete with secular sacred history, sins (against minorities and the environment), and saints. Using the right words and avoiding the wrong ones when referring to such matters - speaking the 'in' language - serves as a badge of identity."
The main unifying characteristic of the American "ruling class" as Codevilla describes it, is inexhaustible contempt for the majority of their countrymen who are not part of their clique. In his words, "our ruling class does not like the rest of America. Most of all does it dislikes that so many Americans think America is substantially different from the rest of the world and like it that way."
Codevilla's article focuses on U.S. domestic policy. He accuses the ruling class of purposely spending the U.S. into insolvency. He claims the goal is to aggregate power. The more Americans depend on governmental largesse for their livelihoods, the greater the power of the government to dictate norms of social and political behavior and the greater the governing class's hold on power.
Codevilla claims Republicans are the permanent minority in the ruling class, which is naturally aligned with the Democrats. When they are in power, the Republicans repress populist and conservative voices within their ranks in order to maintain good relations with their colleagues in Democratic ruling circles. His prime example of a ruling class Republican is the first President Bush.
Codevilla quotes former Soviet ruler Mikhail Gorbachev's retelling of a conversation he reportedly had with then-Vice President Bush about then-President Ronald Reagan. Gorbachev claimed Bush told him not to take Reagan seriously because "Reagan is a conservative, an extreme conservative. All the dummies and blockheads are with him."
There is a clear foreign policy corollary to Codevilla's discussion. Just as U.S. bureaucrats, journalists, politicians and domestic policy wonks tend to combine forces to perpetuate and expand the sclerotic and increasingly bankrupt welfare state, so their foreign policy counterparts tend to collaborate to perpetuate failed foreign policy paradigms that have become writs of faith for American and Western elites.
A prime example of this is U.S. Middle East policy. Regardless of its repeated failure over the course of four decades, and with ever-increasing urgency since 1988, the consensus view of the U.S. foreign policy elite has been that Israel's size is the cause of violence and instability in the Middle East. If Israel would just contract into the indefensible 1949 armistice lines, everything would be wonderful. The so-called extremists in the Arab and Islamic worlds will become moderates. Iran, Syria, the Saudis, the Palestinians, al Qaeda, Hizbullah and the rest would abandon terror and beat their suicide belts and ballistic missiles into ploughshares.
An outstanding example of this sort of nonsense was the 2006 bipartisan Iraq Study Group's recommendations to then-President George W. Bush. The war in Iraq was going nowhere and the considered view of esteemed Republican and Democratic policy hands was to stick it to Israel.
The likes of Baker, Scowcroft, Brzezinski and Hamilton and their students comprise a permanent Middle East policy ruling class that endures regardless of who is in power and what their actual views about Middle Eastern realities happen to be.
But they couldn't survive if they didn't receive help from Israel. Given that most Americans support a strong Israel and view Israel as a vital US ally in the Middle East, they would be hard-pressed to maintain their failed and unpopular policies if they weren't amply assisted by their counterparts in the Israeli ruling class.
Haaretz - the trumpet of Israel's ruling class - has just given us a primer in how this sort of thing works. In an article titled "Obama Has Ways and Means to Check on Netanyahu," military commentator Amir Oren disclosed the close collaboration between the Obama administration and a handful of hard-left retired IDF officers against the Netanyahu government.
Oren reported that ahead of Obama's meeting this month with Netanyahu, retired IDF brigadier generals Shlomo Brom, Udi Dekel and Baruch Spiegel met secretly in Rome with retired U.S. rear admiral John Sigler, who heads the Middle East Research Institute. The purpose of their meeting was twofold. First, as Oren put it, they were asked to "clarify whether in the dispute between [the Obama administration and the Netanyahu government] Netanyahu truly represents the majority in Israel." That is, they were supposed to tell Sigler how to drive a wedge between the democratically elected government and the Israeli voters who elected it.
Second, they were supposed to furnish Obama with arguments to reject Netanyahu's arguments for why Israel cannot retreat to the 1949 armistice lines. As Oren put it, "When Netanyahu tells Obama there is something he can't do because it would be the death of him, experts like the three brigadiers general can map out Israel's ranges of flexibility to Sigler, and through him pass them along to Obama."
Activities like those Oren reports are a permanent feature in Israel policy circles. Regardless of who is in office, the likes of Brom, Dekel and Spiegel and their leader Yossi Beilin are always working with the Americans and Europeans to force Israel to maintain allegiance to the failed land for peace paradigm.
Year in and year out, these anti-democratic and strategically demented but well paid former officials maintain what they euphemistically refer to as "track two" - contacts with their counterparts in the European and American ruling class - to force the majority of Israelis who don't share their derangement to accept their policy dictates.
Codevilla predicts a clash between the ruling class and the ruled in the U.S. is just a matter of time. Just so, the time has come for Israelis to confront their own ruling class and develop methods for weakening its chokehold on Israel's domestic and foreign policy.
For too long and to their unmitigated detriment, Israelis have allowed a small, unelected minority to dictate national policy. The views and loyalties of this minority - like their counterparts in the U.S. - are opposed to those of the majority of Israelis.
If Israel's democracy is to have meaning and if the country is to be defended, Israelis need to empower their elected leaders to stand up to those - like Brom, Spiegel and Dekel -who work actively to subvert the principle of government by consent of the governed.

by Ezra HaLevi"Together with President Shimon Peres and the King of Jordan, I believe we will succeed in building the Peace Channel," Yitzhak Tshuva said Wednesday morning in New York at the opening of the two-day U.S. Israel Executive Summit. He was refering to the link between the Red and Dead Seas.
The conference was held at Tshuva's Plaza Hotel, and marked an informal reopening for the hotel and apartment complex.
The conference, initiated by TheMarker, focused on deepening business ties between Israeli and American executives. Tshuva seemed to be rather excited as he rose to speak, accompanied by the song "My Way."
In his welcoming remarks, Tshuva said that while Israeli businessmen were succeeding all over the world, and Israeli minds were sought after everywhere, there is a need to invest in Israel to continue the country's development.
Tshuva also revealed that he will reopen the Plaza soon with a "royal" celebration. He added that only deep ties between Israel and its neighbors can bring peace in the region.
Hundreds of the most senior representatives of Israeli business packed the conference, held in a renovated hall reminiscent of a 19th century ballroom.
The first day of the conference highlighted the Israeli economy and ways to bring investors to the country.
"I have a lot of respect for Yitzhak Tshuva. He has done something incredible with the Plaza," real estate magnate Donald Trump told the summit yesterday afternoon. Trump owned the the Plaza at one time, but said he still has feelings for the place.
As for more mundane issues, Trump told the conference attendees he expects the U.S. real estate market to bottom out in 6-12 months, but added he personally expects to make a lot of money off the slowdown since there are a lot of good properties worth buying. He said he can now buy things he couldn't buy two years ago. He said the Manhattan real estate market is in excellent shape, maybe the best ever.
As for Israel, Trump said he loved the country and had visited a few times. He said there was even a park named after him - after he donated money for it. As for whether he intends to invest in Israel, Trump responded to the question saying he was about to build a building here, but the site was sold first. He said he might do a deal with Tshuva, and there were also interesting places to build in the Far East and Russia. But Israel is now a hot location, said Trump, adding he never would have said that 4 or 5 years ago.
- ......The father of five, whose friends include President Shimon Peres......
In his acceptance speech, Tshuva alluded to his “vision” — the establishment of a “Peace Valley” — a canal that will connect the Red Sea and the Dead Seas, “a vision credited to Shimon Peres.” The canal will produce electricity and the desalinization of sea water, enabling millions to settle in the Negev. This will include the creation of lakes and boardwalks, and hotels for Israelis and for tourists. According to the dinner journal notes: “The ‘Peace Valley’ vision in the Negev has [such] prominent partners as former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal Abdulaziz Alsaud and King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud. Like Shimon Peres, Tshuva believes that [this project] will produce hundreds of thousands of jobs, electrical energy and drinking water for the benefits of the Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Israelis.”

- Shlomo Brom, Senior Research Associate, Institute for National Security Studies
Shlomo Brom began his lecture by discussing Binyamin Netanyahu’s Bar Ilan speech. He argued, that Netanyahu missed the point in his speech. He agreed that a future Palestinian state should be demilitarized, and acknowledged the fact that Palestinian negotiators have accepted the idea of limiting armaments of the future Palestinian state. But Netanyahu’s focus on demilitarization overlooks the main threat to Israeli security: The Risk that a future Palestinian state will be a failed state, and the Palestinian Authority will not control a monopoly on the use of force.
Israeli Public Opinion
The majority of the Israeli public has moved beyond the ideology of greater Israel, and support a two state solution to the Israeli Palestinian conflict. Despite majority support for a two state solution, these same Israelis do not believe it is presently possible to implement an agreement leading to the creation of two states. The primary concern to Israelis is the perceived lack of a Palestinian partner in peace, and the fear that withdrawal of territory in the West Bank will lead to a repetition of Gaza, and the territory will be used as a launching point for future attacks against Israel.
Building a Palestinian State
To address Israeli security concerns it is necessary to start with the strengthening of the Palestinian security sector. Once the Palestinian Territories are secure, we can commence implementation of a permanent status agreement. This process is currently under way through the US led Dayton initiative, and EU mission in the Palestinian territories, but the present pace of security development is insufficient. There must be greater and more comprehensive international involvement. The current security missions only deal with partial elements of the Palestinian security forces. The Dayton project focuses only on the National Security Force (NSF) and the EU focus on Civil Security. The intelligence organizations have not progressed in the structure or functioning, and the security mission lacks a comprehensive approach, addressing all elements of PA security and the civil jurisprudence system.
Conclusion
It is possible that we come to a situation where we have negotiated a final status agreement, but find tangible implementation of the accord impossible, because of a lack of Palestinian security and civil institutions. In this case, we may need a large international peace keeping force, with a wide mandate to implement the negotiated accord.

On Thursday, August 21, IPF National Scholar Steven L. The following is a summary of his remarks.- Now, about NATO and their plans for Israel... and their deep, deep, operational and ideological ties to the Vatican, specifically to Benedikt. Note that the COMMANDANT of NATO College of Defense is a very "German-looking" German (if you had told me he is a Nazi, you could have fooled me).
Please do read the following research paper, written by a professor at NDC. It clearly delineates the ambitions of NATO, but sadly concludes with the realization that NATO is not capable of invading Israel. It therefore recommends instead the stepped-up approach we have become so familiar with, including the most recent removal of checkpoints along Route 60 in Israel, with its murderous consequences - the proverbial frog in a pot of boiling water.
Coincidence? I really, really don't think so. This is planned at the highest levels of international military command.

General Audience with his Holiness Pope Benedict XVI at the Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican
A NATO Defense College delegation, composed of 140 people, had the honour to attend the General Papal Audience at the Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican. His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI received the Course Members from Senior Course 116 and NRCC-3 and their families. Faculty Advisors and NDC Staff also attended.Benedict XVI greeted the NDC delegation warmly and gave his blessing to all the participants. The Papal Audience was an opportunity for Course Members to reflect on the importance of their personal commitment: many of them, in fact, have participated or will be involved as senior officers or civil servants in peacekeeping operations in very sensitive areas of the world.
(What's that?? Could it, could it just be, Jerusalem? The Holy Land???)
After the Audience, Course Members, Staff and families visited the Vatican Museums. They had the chance to see the Sistine Chapel and world famous artistic treasures.
The Papal Audience was not only a moving event for Catholics, but also an invaluable experience for all members of SC 116 and NRCC-3, regardless of their faith.
After this unique day, the Course Members left the Vatican with renewed motivation to carry out their daily duties. The visit was also an example of exchange among different religions, based on tolerance and mutual respect.

- Turkey Claims Foothold in Old City

by Maayana MiskinTIKA is the Turkish government body responsible for regional development projects.
Two of the signs are hung along a major road with historic significance, Motti Gur Way. Motti Gur was the IDF commander who directed troops in retaking the Old City during the Six Day War. The road bearing his name leads from Jericho Way to Lions' Gate.
"That's where the order 'Go Bentzi, go!' was given as the paratroopers broke through Jordanian defenses around the Old City. From there the first paratroopers entered the Old City, from there they made it to the Temple Mount and the Kotel,” King said.
The signs flout Israeli sovereignty in the Old City, he said. King plans to file a complaint with the Jerusalem municipality and to the Israel Nature and Parks Authority.
The TIKA website states that the signs were placed alongside projects in “Palestine.” Turkey backs the Palestinian Authority's demand to include the Old City in a future PA-led Arab state.
"It seems the Turks have decided to challenge not only our right to exist in security not only within the borders of 'the state of Tel Aviv,' but also our sovereignty in Jerusalem,” King said.
"Perhaps the time has come,” he added, “for the Israeli government to start supporting tourist initiatives and social projects in Kurdistan?

(Israelnationalnews.com) State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss is expected to release a damning report on the State’s mismanagement of the Temple Mount, Judaism’s holiest site. Israeli media report that the report will slam the government for not enforcing Israeli law on the site - first and foremost the law forbidding digging or building on an archeological site.
When the report will be released is a matter of contention. Critics warn the government will try and hide the report from the public claiming "security concerns".

- Barak: Israel May Divide Jerusalem, Internationalize Holy Basin

(Israelnationalnews.com) Defense Minister Ehud Barak says it is likely that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will agree to divide Jerusalem with the Palestinian Authority.
Barak told the Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz in an interview published Wednesday that he believes the best chance for peace lies in a peace deal in which all the Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem would be handed over to the PA in order to create a capital for a new Arab country.
“If Netanyahu leads a process, a significant number of rightist ministers will stand with him,” he told the newspaper. “So what is needed is courage to make historic, painful decisions. I'm not saying that there is certainty for success, but there is a chance. This chance must be exploited to the fullest.”
The peace plan described by Barak includes the following:
* two states for two nations
* an end to the conflict and the end of all future demands
* demarcation of a border “that will run inside the Land of Israel” dividing a demilitarized PA state from an Israel that includes the “settlement blocs”
* retrieving and relocating the “isolated settlements” into the settlement blocs or within Israel
* a solution to the refugee problem within the PA state, or rehabilitating them through international aid
* comprehensive security arrangements
* a “solution to the Jerusalem problem.”
As for the “Jerusalem problem,” Barak told the newspaper that the western side of the city plus "12 Jewish neighborhoods that are home to 200,000 residents will be ours.” The neighborhoods in which nearly 250,000 Arabs are living “will be theirs.”
In addition, Barak envisions a “special regime” with “agreed-upon arrangements” to administer the Old City, the Mount of Olives and the City of David.
The concept is similar to one raised in the past by the administration of former U.S. President Bill Clinton, who recommended the area, which he referred to as the “Holy Basin,” be internationalized under a “special regime.”
Prior to his re-election as Israel's prime minister nearly two years ago, Binyamin Netanyahu warned a gathering at the Jerusalem Conference in January 2009 that leftist politicians would try to internationalize the holy sites in Jerusalem – and he vowed to fight the move.
“Some politicians are trying to blur the importance of the Temple Mount to the Jewish People by referring to it as the 'Holy Basin',” he told the crowd at the time. “We, as Jews, know who built the Temple Mount.”
Netanyahu promised the packed hall, “We have demonstrated in the past, and will continue to demonstrate our commitment to a complete, undivided Jerusalem... Everyone knows what will happen if we were to leave those areas and divide Jerusalem. Someone will enter – and that someone will be Hamas.”
Meanwhile, Barak told Haaretz that Tuesday night's murderous attack by Hamas terrorists was “a very serious incident, the likes of which we haven't seen for a long time.”
Four Jews -- two men and two women, one of whom was nine months pregnant -- were shot to death by a Hamas terrorist cell on Highway 60 at the Bani Nayim junction, between the Jewish community of Pene Hever and Hevron just as darkness fell, ending the daily Muslim fast of Ramadan. According to security sources, the terrorists had "confirmed the kill" by approaching the car and firing at point-blank range once the victims were already either seriously wounded or dead. Ten children were orphaned by the attack.
Barak countered demands by outraged politicians and community leaders for Netanyahu to return from Washington, saying the attack had “no doubt” been an attempt to “harm the start of the peace talks” and urged Israelis to support the process.

Conclusion: It is clear, from the above information, that Ehud Barak and Shimon Peres , via the Vatican, via the NDC in Rome, and via Washington, are in collusion with the enemies of Israel. Bibi also, although coming from a position of duress and fear, it appears to me, is a full collaborator with the enemies of the Jewish People in Israel at the present time. They are COLLABORATORS. We all know the end of COLLABORATORS with the Nazis. This should be no different, as the threat to Jewish life is no different. May Hashem save us from the hand of our brother Esav. Shana Tova.
