A blog dedicated to investigating events as they occur in Judea and Samaria, in Israel and in the world, and as they relate to global powers and/or to the Israeli government, public figures, etc. It is dedicated to uncovering the truth behind the headlines; and in so doing, it strives to do its part in saving Judea and Samaria, and by extension, Israel and the Jewish People, from utter destruction at the hands of its many external and internal enemies.
B"H They say Israel and the Jews are the canary in the mine; how true. The Boston Marathon story, as per this very likely scenario below, is identical to what happened at the Rabin assassination, where Yigal Amir was the patsy, used to blacken the name of the right-wing and give power to Peres and company. They even claimed it was a drill there too!
The story of the Chechen brothers does not make sense - too many red flags of FBI involvement. On the other hand, the issue of the Saudi national with strong terrorist family ties sent home by Obama needs to be investigated further. There are too many unanswered questions at this time.
So much going on in the U.S. these days: check out Info Wars, King World News, JS Mineset, Zerohedge, NaturalNews, the Drudge Report, etc.
Just don't be fooled by mainstream media, they are consummate liars. Shabbat Shalom.
PS: And as proof of the pudding, see below; the criminality of Israeli police has been established for the longest time; witness the actions of Aharonowitch recently, Karadi in the past, etc. That branch of government attracts the absolute worst element - not to say that there aren't decent policemen among them, of course there are. But the general framework of the organization is one of criminality.
By the same token we do know Nanny State dictator Mayor Bloomberg and his own private army, the NYPD - not exactly renown for its righteousness either! So now they are on the exact same page; you'll get Israeli type 'justice' in NY, and NY style dictatorship in Israel. Isn't it wonderful, real Tikkun Olam.
... On the other hand, considering the criminal riff-raff NY police has to contend with day in day out, I can't say their tactics are overall unjustified...:
Cooperation with NYPD on Disasters, Fraud, Cyber Crime
Israel Police Commissioner Yochanan Danino and New York Police Chief
Raymond Kelly reached agreement, Thursday, to establish joint working
teams on massive disasters, cyber crime and money laundering.
Danino said that the challenges of
modern crime in the field of terror demand tightened cooperation and
maximum real-time transfer of information between the police forces.

Alternatively, do we have a combination of mercenaries hired by both right and left, in essence a bunch of gangs and warlords, fighting each other and everybody else too?
Here is a report of the Arab League observers ( and why should anybody believe THEM???)
In it the Shabiha are also mentioned by name, although without elaboration.
See also this video about bombing of civilians:
And what are the implications for Israel in any case? Either way, it looks like one giant BALAGAN there.
UPDATE
Here is an answer to this last question: the issue for Israel is Assad's chemical weapons ending up in the hands of Hezbollah in Lebanon. The next question is: which is worse for us: Assad in power controlling the flow of chemical weapons, or some unknown faction including NATO controlling the flow? Who will cause us more harm? They are both evil, and they both want us dead. I wouldn't trust NATO or the UN with anything, certainly not with Israel's security!

Syrian President Bashar Assad’s military assault on Homs Tuesday killed at least 48 people in eight hours, anti-government activists report U.S. Sen. John McCain urges military intervention.
Homs, a center of anti-Assad demonstrations, was shelled for the fifth straight day. The body count could not be verified because of the official ban on foreign media. The government-controlled media allege that “armed terrorists” were shooting from within the city.
Despite the gag on media, BBC said one of its reporters is embedded with rebel fighters. He reported the bombardment from machine guns mounted on tanks was so heavy that it was too dangerous to go outside to help the wounded or count the dead. He added that residents fear Assad will order a ground invasion.
A BBC reporter in Beirut said there were reports that Assad‘s secret police and soldiers murdered 19 people from three families.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who visited Damascus on Tuesday, voiced continued support from Moscow for Assad, saying that the conflict should be solved by Syrians and not by others.
The Obama administrating reportedly is in a quandary, having rejected direct military help for the rebels while having no diplomatic solution to end the nearly year-long brutal suppression of the Arab Spring protests that have grown into a full-scale rebellion.
U.S. Republican Senator John McCain urged that the United States arm Syrian opposition groups "We should start considering all options, including arming the opposition,” he told visiting Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman Tuesday. “The blood-letting has got to stop," said McCain, who is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. One consideration not often mentioned is the chance the conflict will force Israel into war as Assad continues to allow munitions – including chemical weapons – to fall into the hands of Hizbullah terrorist in Lebanon. "The question is when, not if [Assad will fall]. And the big question is what will happen the following day,” said newly-appointed Israel Air Force Commander Major General Emir Eshel "What has been passed on to Hizbullah so far? What will be passed on in the future? What will be divided between the two factions in Syria?"
An unnamed defense official told the Hebrew-language Yisrael HaYom newspaper that Israel cannot stand by silently with chemical weapons in the hands of Hizbullah.
It has previously been reported that Hizbullah already has smuggled into Lebanon long-range Scud missiles, which can reach metropolitan Tel Aviv.
... For once, Barak might be telling the truth... See how he is preparing the Israeli public for the likely transfer of the 20,000 Shabiha mercenaries to Israel - as discussed in "The Stench of Deceit, Part III". He is also clearly stating that Assad's fall is the danger re: chemical and other weapons, more so than Assad himself.
So here is your answer: the intervention by the West, i.e. NATO, the UN, and Obama's U.S., is the real danger for Israel - not the other way around. We have more to fear from the West fighting Assad than from Assad himself, - not to mention the Shabiha about to enter Israel.
Barak Fears Arms Transfer to Hizbullah
Defense Minister Ehud Barak says 'sophisticated' Syrian weapons could find their way to Lebanon and Hizbullah if Assad falls.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak warned Thursday that sophisticated weapons could be transferred from Syria to Lebanon and to the Hizbullah terror organization, should Bashar al-Assad fall. “You have to be alert to the possibility, so that during the fall of the regime there will not be the transfer of sophisticated Syrian weapons to Hizbullah and Lebanon,” Barak told Army radio.
“We are tracking this issue constantly and carefully,” he said, without elaborating further.
Barak said Israeli assessments suggest Assad’s downfall is only a matter of time, “The fate of the regime of Bashar al-Assad is sealed; his situation is getting worse every week."
Israel has been closely following developments in neighboring Syria, where Assad has perpetrated a bloody, nearly year-long crackdown on anti-regime protesters.
Israeli officials have expressed concern that Assad's fall would have regional consequences that could affect Israel. Officials have expressed concern that Israel's north could be inundated with Syrian refugees, or that Assad might attack the Jewish state to shift attention from his regime. Officials have also warned that Syria’s weapons, including alleged chemical and biological ones, could fall into the hands of terrorists, including Hizbullah, which fought a war with Israel in 2006.
Last month, incoming IAF chief Major General Amir Eshel, said Syria possessed “huge stockpiles” of such weapons.
“The immediate concern is the huge stockpiles of chemical, biological, strategic capabilities that are still going into Syria, mainly from eastern Europe,” he said. “That’s a major concern because I don’t know who is going to own those the day after. Up till now, what has been transferred to Hizbullah? What will be transferred to Hizbullah? What will be divided between those factions inside Syria? What is that going to create?”
The UN estimates at least 5,400 people have been killed in Syria since the uprising began in March. But that figure is from January, when the UN stopped counting because deteriorating security prevented verification of the figures.
At least 117 protesters have been killed by Assad forces in the past six days alone as the Syrian military continues to shell the focal protest city of Homs.
.. And you want THESE people to defend us? NATO, Europe's army???

The European Union has broken its promise not to fund Hamas, officially defined as terrorists, but now re-united with Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
Despite the official isolation of Hamas by the EU, an official statement this week stated that that “the EU looks forward to continuing its support, including through direct financial assistance, for a new Palestinian government that should uphold the principle of non-violence.”
EU foreign relations spokesman Michael Mann tried to explained the EU’s continued financing of the new unity PA government by stating, "We need to know who will be the ministers and what they will say.”
Hamas has repeatedly emphasized that the Palestinian Authority cannot achieve statehood without “resistance,” the code word for terrorism. It also has publicly encouraged kidnapping Israeli soldiers and civilians, particularly since it was able to gain the release of more than 1,000 terrorists and security prisoners in return for handing over to Israel kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit.
Hamas and its rival party Fatah, headed by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, hammered out an agreement in Doha Tuesday for a new interim PA government headed by Abbas. The two factions broke off from each other after Hamas’ bloody military coup in Gaza in 2007.
The Quartet – the United States, EU, Russia and the United Nations – has said it recognizes the on the conditions that it renounce violence, recognizes Israel and honors previous agreements. Hamas has categorically refused to agree to the conditions, while Abbas vocally has stated opposition to violence while constantly lauding terrorists. He also has declined to officially recognize Israel, particularly not as a Jewish state.
He also has broken the Oslo Accords several times, the most blatant violation being the unilateral move to ask the United Nations for recognition of the Palestinian Authority as an independent state based on his own territorial and political definitions.
MORE UPDATE: So what else is new? Who is surprised? Before we know it we will be completely surrounded - and invaded - by NATO, i.e. UN, and U.S. forces.
First foreign troops in Syria back Homs rebels. Damascus and Moscow at odds DEBKAfileExclusive ReportFebruary 8, 2012, 1:35 PM (GMT+02:00)
Syrian tank on fire in Homs
British and Qatari special operations units are operating with rebel forces under cover in the Syrian city of Homs just 162 kilometers from Damascus, according to debkafile’s exclusive military and intelligence sources. The foreign troops are not engaged in direct combat with the Syrian forces bombarding different parts of Syria's third largest city of 1.2 million. They are tactical advisers, manage rebel communications lines and relay their requests for arms, ammo, fighters and logistical aid to outside suppliers, mostly in Turkey.
This site is the first to report the presence of foreign military forces in any of the Syrian uprising's embattled areas.
Our sources report the two foreign contingents have set up four centers of operation - in the northern Homs district of Khaldiya, Bab Amro in the east, and Bab Derib and Rastan in the north. Each district is home to about a quarter of a million people.
More details as they unfold will be available in the coming DEBKA-Net-Weeklyissue out Friday.
To subscribe to DEBKA-Net-Weekly, click here
Our military sources also report that Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 8, Assad sent the 40th Mechanized Brigade of heavy T-72 tanks to Homs for an all-out effort to beat the rebellion, counter the foreign contingents and reinforce the 90th Infantry Brigade commanded by his kinsman, Gen. Zuhair al-Assad, the backbone of the military force battering the city for the past five days at the cost of hundreds of dead.
The presence of the British and Qatari troops was seized on by Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan for the new plan he unveiled to parliament in Ankara Tuesday, Feb. 7. Treating the British-Qatari contingents as the first foreign foot wedged through the Syrian door, his plan hinges on consigning a new Turkish-Arab force to Homs through that door and under the protection of those contingents. Later, they would go to additional flashpoint cities.
In the close to eleven months of the Syrian revolt, Erdogan has hatched more than one scheme for countering the Assad regime's savage crackdown on dissent. His most persistent was a plan for the creation of military buffer zones to shelter rebels and civilians persecuted by the Syrian authorities. But nothing came of those plans because, every time they came up, Assad reinforced his contingents on the Turkish border and deployed air defense and surface-to-surface missile batteries. He made it clear that the first Turk crossing the border would spark a full-scale war.
It is hard to say at this point whether the latest Turkish leader's current plan is any more practical than his earlier schemes. For now, he has put the ball in the American court. Wednesday, Feb. 8, he sent Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu to Washington to ask for the Obama administration's cooperation. The Turkish prime minister is also in urgent consultation with Saudi and several other Gulf rulers in the hope of bringing them aboard.
The British-Qatari troop presence in Homs was at the center of Assad's talks in Damascus Tuesday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian SVR intelligence chief Mikhail Fradkov. Senior Syrian intelligence officers laid their updates from the field before the Russian visitors and received SVR data and evaluations in return.
Western intelligence officials familiar with the talks describe the atmosphere between Assad and the Russian officials as uneasy and tense. Later, Lavrov reported optimistically that he had received assurances from the Syrian ruler of an end to the violence, talks with all Syrian parties and an early referendum on a new constitution for political reforms. His account was no more than prevarication to conceal the opposite outcome of their talks. In fact, their conversation focused on more violence, namely, Assad's plans for his next assault on rebels and protesters and his military response to the rising covert presence of foreign Western, Arab and Muslim troops in Syria.
Report: U.S. Looking into Military Option in Syria
The Pentagon is currently examining the range of possibilities for action in Syria, including military action.

The United States is beginning to consider a military option in Syria, Israel’s Channel 10 News reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, the Pentagon is currently examining the range of possibilities for action in Syria, but a final decision on the matter is still far off.
As part of the work it is doing, the report said, the Pentagon is examining the resources available to the U.S. in the region and, based on that, building an analysis of the prospects and risks. One possibility being examined is landing humanitarian aid in Syria or even arming the rebels. Channel 10 noted that the Pentagon is also preparing a scenario of military action in Syria, but noted that the chances that the U.S. will realize that option are close to zero. The Pentagon’s move is more of an American signal to Russia, after it vetoed a UN Security Council resolution on Syria, that the veto was not the final word on the Syrian issue.
On Wednesday, the head of the United Nations Human Rights Commission, Navi Pillay, called on the international community to "take effective action" to stop the killing in Syria.
Pillay said there is no statute of limitations for serious international crimes. There is an "extreme urgency for the international community to cut through the politics and take effective action to protect the Syrian population," she added.
Syrian troops stormed the central hotspot city of Homs this week, killing scores of residents and rebels alike in the area of Bab Amr.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Pakistan's ISI spy agency is ready to split with the CIA because of frustration over what it calls heavy-handed pressure and its anger over what it believes is a covert U.S. operation involving hundreds of contract spies, according to a document obtained by The Associated Press and interviews with U.S. and Pakistani officials.
Such a move could seriously damage the U.S war effort in Afghanistan, limit a program targeting al-Qaida insurgents along the Pakistan frontier, and restrict Washington's access to information in the nuclear-armed country.
According to a statement drafted by the ISI, supported by interviews with officials, an already-fragile relationship between the two agencies collapsed following the shooting death of two Pakistanis by Raymond Davis, a U.S. contracted spy who is in jail in Pakistan facing possible multiple murder charges.
"Post-incident conduct of the CIA has virtually put the partnership into question," said a media statement prepared by the ISI but never released. A copy was obtained this week by the AP.
The statement accused the CIA of using pressure tactics to free Davis.
"It is hard to predict if the relationship will ever reach the level at which it was prior to the Davis episode," the statement said. "The onus of not stalling this relationship between the two agencies now squarely lies on the CIA."
The ISI fears there are hundreds of CIA contracted spies operating in Pakistan without the knowledge of either the Pakistan government or the intelligence agency, a senior Pakistani intelligence official told the AP in an interview. He spoke only on condition he not be identified on grounds that exposure would compromise his security.
Pakistan intelligence had no idea who Davis was or what he was doing when he was arrested, the official said, adding that there are concerns about "how many more Raymond Davises are out there."
Davis was arrested Jan. 27 in Lahore after shooting two Pakistanis. A third Pakistani was killed by a U.S. Consulate vehicle coming to assist the American. Pakistan demanded the driver be handed over, but the AP has learned the two U.S. employees in the car now are in the United States.
Davis has pleaded self-defense, but the Lahore police upon completing their investigation said they would seek murder charges. The ISI official told the AP that Davis had contacts in the tribal regions and knew both the men he shot. He said the ISI is investigating the possibility that the encounter on the streets of Lahore stemmed from a meeting or from threats to Davis.
U.S. officials deny Davis had prior contact with the men before the incident, and CIA spokesman George Little said any problems between the two agencies will be sorted out.
"The CIA works closely with our Pakistani counterparts on a wide range of security challenges, including our common fight against al-Qaida and its terrorist allies," he said. "The agency's ties to ISI have been strong over the years, and when there are issues to sort out, we work through them. That's the sign of a healthy partnership."
The CIA repeatedly has tried to penetrate the ISI and learn more about Pakistan's nuclear program. The ISI has mounted its own operations to gather intelligence on the CIA's counterterrorism activities
The ISI is now scouring thousands of visas issued to U.S. employees in Pakistan. The ISI official said Davis' visa application contains bogus references and phone numbers. He said thousands of visas were issued to U.S. Embassy employees over the past five months following a government directive to the Pakistan Embassy in Washington to issue visas without the usual vetting by the interior ministry and the ISI. The same directive was issued to the Pakistan embassies in Britain and the United Arab Emirates, he said.
Within two days of receiving that directive, the Pakistani Embassy issued 400 visas and since then thousands more have been issued, said the ISI official. A Western diplomat in Pakistan agreed that a "floodgate" opened for U.S. Embassy employees requesting Pakistani visas.
The ISI official said his agency knows and works with "the bona fide CIA people in Pakistan" but is upset that the CIA would send others over behind its back. For now, he said, his agency is not talking with the CIA at any level, including the most senior.
To regain support and assistance, he said, "they have to start showing respect, not belittling us, not being belligerent to us, not treating us like we are their lackeys."
NATO and U.S. operations in Afghanistan could be adversely effected by a split between the ISI and the CIA. Washington complains bitterly about Pakistan's refusal to go after the Pakistani-headquartered Haqqani network, which is believed to be the strongest fighting force in Afghanistan and closely allied with al-Qaida.
The ISI official said Pakistan is fed up with Washington's complaints, and he accused the CIA of planting stories about ISI assistance to the Haqqani network.
Relations between the CIA and ISI have been on a downward slide since the name of the U.S. agency's station chief in Pakistan was leaked in a lawsuit accusing him of killing civilians in a drone strike.
Fearing for his safety, the CIA eventually pulled the station chief out of the country. ISI leaders balked at allegations that they outed the CIA top spy in their country. Former and current U..S. officials believe the station chief fell out of favor, but the Pakistanis say this is not the case Those accusations and the naming of ISI chief Shujah Pasha in a civil lawsuit in the United States — filed by family members of victims of a November 2008 attack in Mumbai, India, by insurgents — started the downslide in relations, the ISI official said.
To help repair the crucial relationship, the CIA earlier this year dispatched a very senior officer to be the new station chief who was previously the head of the European Division, one of the most important jobs in the National Clandestine Service, the agency's spy arm.
The spy agencies have overcome lows before. During President George W. Bush's first term, the ISI became enraged after it shared intelligence with the United States, only to learn that the then-CIA station chief passed that information to the British. The incident caused a serious row, one that threatened the CIA's relationship with the ISI and deepened the levels of distrust between the two sides. At the time Pakistan almost threw the CIA station chief out of the country.

Less than a year before terrorists killed at least 163 people in Mumbai, India, a young Moroccan woman went to American authorities in Pakistan to warn them that she believed her husband, David C. Headley, was plotting an attack.
It was not the first time American law enforcement authorities were warned about Mr. Headley, a longtime informer in Pakistan for the United States Drug Enforcement Administration whose roots in Pakistan and the United States allowed him to move easily in both worlds.
Two years earlier, in 2005, an American woman who was also married to the 50-year-old Mr. Headley told federal investigators in New York that she believed he was a member of the militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba created and sponsored by Pakistan’s powerful intelligence agency.
Despite those warnings by two of his three wives Mr. Headley roamed far and wide on Lashkar’s behalf between 2002 and 2009, receiving training in small-caliber weapons and countersurveillance, scouting targets for attack, and building a network of connections that extended from Chicago to Pakistan’s lawless northwestern frontier.
Then in 2008, it was his handiwork as chief reconnaissance scout that set the stage for Lashkar’s strike against Mumbai, an assault intended to provoke a conflict between nuclear-armed adversaries, Pakistan and India. An examination of Mr. Headley’s movements in the years before the bombing, based on interviews in Washington, Pakistan, India and Morocco, shows that he had overlapping, even baffling, contacts among seemingly disparate groups — Pakistani intelligence, terrorists, and American drug investigators. Those ties are rekindling concerns that the Mumbai bombings represent another communications breakdown in the fight against terrorism, and are raising the question of whether United States officials were reluctant to dig deeper into Mr. Headley’s movements because he had been an informant for the D.E.A. More significantly, they may indicate American wariness to pursue evidence that some officials in Pakistan, its major ally in the war against Al Qaeda, were involved in planning an attack that killed six Americans.
The Pakistani government has insisted that its spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate, a close partner of the C.I.A., did not know of the attack. The United States says it has no evidence to counter this, though officials acknowledge that some current or retired ISI officers probably played some role.
It is unclear what United States officials did with the warnings they had gotten about Mr. Headley — who has pleaded guilty to the crimes and is cooperating with authorities — or whether they saw them as complaints from wives whose motives might be colored by their strained relations with their husband.
Federal officials say that the State Department and the F.B.I. investigated the warnings they received about Mr. Headley at the time, but that they could not confirm any connections between him and Lashkar-e-Taiba. D.E.A. officials have said they ended their association with him at the end of 2001, at least two months before Mr. Headley reportedly attended his first terrorist training. But some Indian officials say they suspect that Mr. Headley’s contacts with the American drug agency lasted much longer.
The investigative news organization ProPublica reported the 2005 warning from Mr. Headley’s American ex-wife on its Web site and in the Saturday issue of The Washington Post. By ProPublica’s account, she told authorities that Mr. Headley boasted about working as an American informant while he trained with Lashkar.
On Saturday, Mike Hammer, a spokesman for the National Security Council, said in a statement, “The United States regularly provided threat information to Indian officials in 2008 before the attacks in Mumbai.” He also said, “Had we known about the timing and other specifics related to the Mumbai attacks, we would have immediately shared those details with the government of India.”
Mr. Headley’s American wife was not the only one to come forward. The Moroccan wife described her separate warnings in an interview with The New York Times. Other interviews illustrate his longstanding connections to American law enforcement and the ISI.
Among the findings:
¶ An officer of the Pakistani spy agency handed Mr. Headley $25,000 in early 2006 to open an office and set up a house in Mumbai to be used as a front during his scouting trips, according to Mr. Headley’s testimony to Indian investigators in Chicago in June. As part of Mr. Headley’s plea agreement, Indian investigators were allowed to interview him in Chicago, where he was arrested in October 2009. ¶ The ISI officer who gave Mr. Headley the cash, known as Major Iqbal, served as the supervisor of Lashkar’s planning, helping to arrange a communications system for the attack, and overseeing a model of the Taj Mahal Hotel, so that gunmen could find their way around, according to Mr. Headley’s testimony to the Indians.
¶ While working for Lashkar, which has close ties to the ISI, Mr. Headley was also enlisted by the Pakistani spy agency to recruit Indian agents to monitor Indian troop levels and movements, an American official said.
Besides Mr. Headley’s guilty plea in a United States court, seven Pakistani suspects have been charged there. American investigators say a critical player who has not been charged is Sajid Mir, a Lashkar operative who became close to Mr. Headley as the plans for the Mumbai operation unfolded. The investigators fear he is still working on other plots.
Mr. Headley was known both to Pakistani and American security officials long before his arrest as a terrorist. He went to an elite military high school in Pakistan, whose graduates went on to become high-ranking military officers and intelligence operatives. After arrests in 1988 and 1997 on drug-trafficking charges, Mr. Headley became such a valued D.E.A. informant that the drug agency sent him back and forth between Pakistan and the United States. In several interviews in her home, Mr. Headley’s Moroccan wife, Faiza Outalha, described the warnings she gave to American officials less than a year before gunmen attacked several popular tourist attractions in Mumbai. She claims she even showed the embassy officials a photo of Mr. Headley and herself in the Taj Mahal Hotel where they stayed twice in April and May 2007. Hotel records confirm their stay.
Ms. Outalha, 27, said that in two meetings with American officials at the United States Embassy in Islamabad, she told the authorities that her husband had many friends who were known members of Lashkar-e-Taiba. She said she told them that he was passionately anti-Indian, but that he traveled to India all the time for business deals that never seemed to amount to much.
And she said she told them Mr. Headley assumed different identities: as a devout Muslim who went by the name Daood when he was in Pakistan, and as an American playboy named David, when he was in India. “I told them, he’s either a terrorist, or he’s working for you,” she recalled saying to American officials at the United States Embassy in Islamabad. “Indirectly, they told me, to get lost.”
Though there are lots of gaping holes left in Mr. Headley’s public profile, the one thing that is clear is he assumed multiple personas. He was born in the United States, the son of a Pakistani diplomat and a socialite from Philadelphia’s Main Line. When he was about a year old, his parents took him to Pakistan, where he attended the Hasan Abdal Cadet College, the country’s oldest military boarding school, just outside of Islamabad.
Mr. Headley’s parents divorced. And before he finished high school, he moved to Philadelphia to help his American mother run a bar, called the Khyber Pass. Later he opened a couple of video rental stores.
But at the same time he was involved in a life of crime. Each time he was arrested on drug trafficking charges, he used his roots in the United States and Pakistan to make himself as valuable an asset to law enforcement as he was to the traffickers; one with the looks and passports to move easily across borders, and the charisma to penetrate secretive organizations.
He was married at least three times. For one period he was married to all three wives — Ms. Outalha, who is a medical student half his age, a New York makeup artist, and a conservative Pakistani Muslim — at the same time.
Those relationships, however, caused him trouble. In 2005, his American wife filed domestic abuse charges against Mr. Headley, according to federal investigators in New York, and reported his ties to Lashkar-e-Taiba. The investigators said the tip was passed on to the F.B.I.’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.
Then in December 2007, Ms. Outalha talked her way into the heavily guarded American Embassy in Islamabad. She went back a month later with more information. A senior administration official acknowledged that Ms. Outalha met twice with an assistant regional security officer and an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer at the embassy. However, the administration official said Ms. Outalha offered almost no details to give credibility to her warnings.
“The texture of the meeting was that her husband involved with bad people, and they were planning jihad,” the official said. “But she gave no details about who was involved, or what they planned to target.”
Given that she had been jilted, Ms. Outalha acknowledged she may not have been composed. “I wanted him in Guantánamo,” she said.
More than that, however, Ms. Outalha says, she went to American authorities looking for answers to questions about Mr. Headley’s real identity. In public he criticized the United States for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. But at night he loved watching “Seinfeld” and Jay Leno.
Sipping tea in a cafe overlooking a plaza in Morocco, Ms. Outalha said that in hindsight, she is convinced that he is both men. She claims to be puzzled that American officials did not heed her warning.
“I told them anything I could to get their attention,” she said of the American authorities at the embassy in Islamabad. “It was as if I was shouting, ‘This guy was a terrorist! You have to do something.’ ”
The Debkafile version here:
Why the US leak now hinting al Qaeda's Headley was a double agent? DEBKAfileSpecial ReportOctober 16, 2010
David Coleman Headley, Chicago-based Al Qaeda executive
Saturday, Oct. 16, apparently out of the blue, the powers-that-be in Washington released a new revelation to the local media (first to the Washington Post): Five years ago, David Coleman Headley's wife informed the FBI that her Chicago-based husband was a key figure in the planning and preparation of the terrorist plot that killed 174 people in Mumbai, including six Israelis, in 2008.
Her tip preceded the attack by three years.
She was revealed as having given three interviews to FBI agents in which she related that Pakistan-born Headley was an active operative in Al Qaeda's most effective affiliate, the Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taibe, had trained in its Pakistan camps and shopped for night-vision goggles and other equipment.
His wife came forward, according to the reports, after a domestic dispute that resulted in Headley's arrest in 2005. She described him as bragging of working as a paid informant for the US Drug Enforcement Agency while he trained with terrorists in Pakistan.
Federal officials did not deny this suggestion. They were quoted as saying the FBI looked into the tip but declined to say if any action was taken. DEBKA-Net-Weekly has followed the Headley case from its outset.
On Nov. 22, 2009, on the first anniversary of the Mumbai outrage, DEBKA-Net-Weekly 422 reported under the caption: Al Qaeda in America: A Chicago Master-Cell Plots Attacks in India and Denmark: An undoubtedly authentic al Qaeda-linked terror cell has been uncovered in Chicago. Approximately five years after 9/11, a group of former Pakistani Islamists, some of them US citizens, set up shop in a Chicago grocery store. The FBI discovered the group had been working for at least three or four years with one of al Qaeda's operational arms, Lashkhar-e-Taibe, as master planners of overseas operations - though not so far in their adopted homeland. From this headquarters they mapped out a series of plots against overseas targets in conjunction with the Pakistan-based terrorist organization. Their latest target was to have been the Danish newspaper which ran a series of cartoons of Prophet Mohammed in 2005 which enraged Muslims worldwide.
This year, on April 2, DEBKA-Net-Weekly 439 discussed the possibility of Headley's employ by the US as an undercover double agent: India finds it hard to believe that US terror experts were ignorant of Headley's role as key man in the planning and selection of targets for the attack [in Mumbai] and the dispatch of the Lashkar-e-Taibe terrorists for its execution.
These suspicions have led New Delhi to the supposition that Headley was a double or triple agent working for US intelligence, Pakistani's Inter-Services (military) Intelligence - ISI and also al Qaeda.
While Washington did indeed tip off Indian intelligence to the impending Mumbai attack two months in advance, the Indians now suspect that it withheld information which could have prevented the attack so as not to expose Headley. debkafile's counter-terror sources wonder what the motivation was behind the release of a supposition that was widely aired in Israel and India at the time. Two possible answers are suggested here: One: The federal authorities are anxious to distract American public attention from the court procedures beginning last week in the case of the Palestinian-American Major Nidal Malik Hasan accused of murdering 13 US servicemen at Fort Hood base on Nov. 5, 2009 and responsibility for the most deadly Islamist terrorist attack every staged in a US military installation.
Several of the soldiers wounded in the attack, some very seriously, disclosed that their US base commanders had ordered them then and there to hold back testimony of jihadi terror and erase video photos of the attack recorded on their cell phones. No visual evidence of the attack has therefore survived - only the testimony of witnesses, one of whom confirmed that throughout his shooting rampage, Nidal never stopped shouting Allah is Great!
Our sources also confirm that the emergence of a Palestinian terrorist willing to carry out a massacre inside the United States is highly embarrassing for the Obama administration at a time when its diplomats are working hard to revive peace diplomacy in the Middle East.
2. The US administration came under heavy fire for the unspecific, imprecise terror alert the State Department issued the whole of Europe on Oct. 3 against Mumbai-style multiple terror attacks. Three weeks later, most counter-terror agencies in Europe are certain the alert was unfounded and hurt Washington's credibility.
By releasing new data on the Headley case, the Americans hope to prove to the Europeans that they have learned their lesson from the Mumbai atrocity and were no longer repeating the mistake of disregarding incoming tips.
Their warning to Europe was based on information garnered from the jailed German al Qaeda operative Ahmad Wali Siddiqui. This time it was taken seriously.

...And my article about the story two years ago, exposing the role of international intelligence and the CIA here ( sorry about the poor presentation: for some reason I am unable to edit anything on this post, I wonder why...):
I hadn't noticed the comments at the bottom of the video. Some people think it is disinformation. Wouldn't know, but my instincts tell me that he is right. I always knew that the way to change is through information; that was the real reason for this blog. I also knew - they say it themselves! - that the second , very important war being waged is a war on the net, the war of public opinion. So I think at least part of what he is saying is true.
What do you think?

Brilliant and wealthy but a paranoid schizophrenic, Walter Sartory was a prime target. He was abducted, drugged and his body set on fire. And a housekeeper and her son have been charged with murder.
By Bob Drogin
January 7, 2010
Reporting from Hebron, Ky.
Like the disturbed genius in Hollywood's "A Beautiful Mind," Walter K. Sartory was a brilliant mathematician with a grave mental illness. It made him the perfect victim.
Sartory worked for 30 years at Tennessee's Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which was built in secret for the atomic bomb project and became America's largest science and energy lab.
Sartory's work on nuclear weapons remains classified, but he published pioneering papers on reactor design, medical centrifuges and other subjects. He won a top award at the lab and held three patents.
"You only played chess with Walt two or three times because you were always humiliated," said John Eveleigh, a British biochemist who worked at Sartory's side. "And I played chess for Oxford, so I wasn't an amateur."
Sartory was treated most of his life for paranoid schizophrenia. He believed the CIA trained ants to spy on him. He battled social phobias so acute that he turned down a high-paying job rather than submit to an interview.
When Sartory retired in 1992, he shut himself in a tiny apartment and used algorithms to invest on Wall Street. The savant built a $14-million portfolio before the stock market crashed last year, records show.
With therapy and new medicine, he began to travel. He moved to Hebron in March 2008 to be near the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport. He had no immediate family and knew no one in the area.
Then last February, old friends phoned police to say the 73-year-old recluse had vanished. Their plea for help came too late.
Sartory had been abducted, drugged and duct-taped to a chair, police later concluded. He surrendered his financial accounts but died after he was denied the medicine that kept his panic attacks at bay. His body was stuffed in a trash can, doused with gasoline and burned.
"We all struggle to have faith in mankind," said Linda Tally Smith, the commonwealth's attorney who will prosecute the case. "To think a man who was already paranoid, who lived his whole life in fear of others, could fall prey to something so horrific is heartbreaking."
Exploitation of the elderly, and of the mentally ill, is a sad but growing trend. Prosecution is also more common thanks to surveillance cameras and other new tools.
But few cases present such a grim mix of pulp fiction and Greek tragedy as the lonely death of Walter Sartory.
Last January, Sartory spent three days visiting Therese "Terri" Davis, 60, in Binghamton, N.Y. They had met on an Internet site for people with personality disorders. This was their first date.
"He was so shy, so quiet," she recalled. "We held hands. I'm pretty sure he never held anybody else's hand before." Sartory told her that government agents sometimes tampered with his car. "And when we went out to eat, he thought the waitress was laughing at him. I couldn't get him to smile."
Sartory also complained of a pushy housekeeper back home named Willa Blanc. At 47, she wore big blond wigs and rhinestone-encrusted fake fingernails, even when cleaning homes, and drove a candy-apple red 2007 Corvette.
Blanc worked in Sartory's neighborhood and offered to clean his house in mid-2008. He declined, but she kept bothering him, he said.
Sartory also complained about Blanc to Ann Cartee in Sterling, Va. They had met in an Internet mental health forum years before and spent hours together on the phone nearly every day.
"He said Blanc would knock on his door, barge in, and before you know it, she was there for two hours," Cartee recalled. "He didn't know how to get her to leave."
When Sartory returned from Binghamton, he found that Blanc and her 27-year-old son, Louis Wilkinson, had cleared his driveway of snow. Blanc handed Sartory mail, including financial statements, that she had taken from his mailbox.
Less than a month later, on Feb. 26, Cartee and her husband, Robert, called the Boone County Sheriff's Department in Kentucky to say their friend had not answered phone calls or responded to e-mails in 10 days.
The Cartees also sent police several of Sartory's recent e-mails. In one, he wrote that he had changed his locks in case Blanc had stolen a copy of his house key.
"I do not trust her," Sartory wrote. "I might be merely paranoid, but I suspect she might be running some sort of confidence racket. Or she might be casing my house to see if it is worth robbing."
Deputies checked Sartory's beige bungalow several times. But the shades were drawn, as usual, and nothing seemed amiss. They left notes under the door.
Then, on March 4, deputies noticed the garage door was unlocked and entered the house through there.
They discovered that the scientist had converted his living room into a monitoring station for extra-terrestrial life: Six powerful computers were running a program that analyzed radio signals from outer space.
Deputies found Sartory's schedules. He set precise times to brush his teeth, get dressed and so on, and then checked off each completed task.
In the kitchen, they found the prescription pills Sartory took daily to ward off psychotic episodes. He would not have left home without them.
Neighbors mentioned seeing a van from the cleaning service Molly Maids in Sartory's driveway. Company officials disclosed that Blanc, who sometimes worked for them, told them that she and Sartory "would be traveling" indefinitely.
On March 10, Sheriff's Chief Det. Coy Cox stopped at Blanc's two-story brick home in nearby Union, Ky. She assured him she had just seen Sartory in a grocery store and promised to call when she heard from him.
The next day, Cox found a letter in Sartory's mailbox from Fidelity Investments. The detective faxed a subpoena to Fidelity, which informed him that Blanc had added her name to Sartory's brokerage account.
Cox raced back to Blanc to demand an explanation. This time, she said she had passed Sartory in his silver Prius.
"I said, 'That's not what you told me before,' " Cox recalled. "She was totally cool, didn't blink an eye. She said, 'Really? Well, he's fine. He's probably home now.' "
As Cox drove away, Blanc packed a bag and fled with her son.
Police were ready. Surveillance teams shadowed the pair as they changed hotels and cars three times in two days and shuffled cellphones to avoid being traced.
The trackers lost them in Cincinnati traffic. But other clues quickly emerged.
Cox interviewed Blanc's husband, an electronics engineer. He said she had been his maid before they married. But she emptied his financial accounts, he said, and ran up $500,000 in debts. The mortgage company foreclosed on their home in mid-February, the engineer added.
That was just before Sartory disappeared.
The engineer also disclosed that Blanc had totaled his Chevrolet Trailblazer on Feb. 22. She had been on her way to rural Indiana to visit a friend with whom she liked to gamble, he said.
Cox drove to Indiana. Police told him Blanc was hauling a large plastic trash barrel when she crashed the SUV. She told police at the scene that the 50-gallon can contained firewood. The lid was fastened with bungee cord, and no one bothered to check.
She insisted that the tow-truck driver return the wrecked SUV, barrel and all, to Kentucky.
Once there, police say, Blanc and her son moved the trash barrel to a rented Dodge van and drove back to Indiana.
Blanc had stopped shortly before the accident to gamble at the Argosy, a riverboat casino on the Ohio River. Now, on her second trip with the barrel, she stopped at another gaming hall.
"They played bingo until it got dark," Cox said. Then they drove to her friend's farmhouse about 40 miles southwest of Indianapolis.
The farmhouse owner, Dwayne Lively, later told police that Blanc and her son drove up but did not stay. But Lively's daughter, Amanda, pulled up just as detectives were leaving and gave a more alarming story.
"She said Willa Blanc just showed up and said she had a large dog in the trash can, and paid her dad $1,000 to help them burn it," prosecutor Smith said. "They took all night to do it. This was even weirder than we were imagining."
Blanc's son "got third-degree burns from churning the fire," said his lawyer, Jason Gilbert, a public defender. Blanc, he added, "didn't sleep for 48 to 72 hours during this period. She was manic."
Police found charred human remains, a pair of burned metal-rim glasses, and steel tread from incinerated tires scattered in the nearby Morgan-Monroe State Forest.
Arrest warrants were issued for Blanc and Wilkinson. Police spotted Blanc's Corvette at a Red Roof Inn early the next day in nearby Sharonville, Ohio, and arrested them both.
Blanc and Wilkinson have pleaded not guilty to charges including murder, kidnapping, theft and abuse of a corpse. They are being held in lieu of $10-million bail each in the Boone County jail.
After his arrest, Wilkinson told Cox that he was "tired of his mother controlling his life" and of being her "slave." He gave two videotaped statements. The grisly details spilled out at subsequent court hearings.
Wilkinson lived in the basement of the house his mother and her husband shared. He had discovered Sartory confined there on Feb. 16 or 17, he said. The elderly man's hands and feet were taped to a chair, and tape covered his mouth. He appeared drugged.
Wilkinson said his mother ordered him to stay in the basement and locked the door. He said he pulled the tape from Sartory's mouth, and the captive asked if the "terrorist had been paid" and pleaded to be set free.
Denied his pills for several days, Sartory repeatedly vomited and struggled to breathe. Wilkinson said he tried to revive him three times with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, but never called 911.
Wilkinson told detectives he carried Sartory "like a baby" up the stairs at one point to get him medical help, but his mother ordered him to stop. It's not clear when Sartory died, but Wilkinson said they stored the body in the trash can for two days in the garage.
Before Sartory died, police say, he gave Blanc his computer passwords and a power of attorney granting control over his bank and brokerage accounts. He also appeared to revise his will to leave Blanc the bulk of his fortune, although police believe the document is forged.
Blanc withdrew $210,000 from Sartory's account, the maximum available, before her arrest and was due to get $1.3 million more the day Cox sent his subpoena and Fidelity stopped the transfer.
Cox also checked at the Chevrolet dealership where the SUV had been towed after the accident. A salesman said Blanc had erupted in fury when she learned that someone already had bought a new, top-of-the-line Corvette ZR1 that she wanted. The car cost more than $100,000.
"She became very irritated, very angry," Cox said. "She told them she was about to get $7.5 million in cash."
When police searched her home, he said, they found a book with a title like "How to Choose Your Prey" in her safe.
"In her mind, he was perfect," Cox said. "She's tapped out. He has lots of money. He doesn't know anybody. He lives behind closed doors. He's trying to communicate with ET. Who would miss him?"
At an hourlong court hearing Dec. 2, Wilkinson stared at the floor, never looking at his mother. She fidgeted and glared at reporters through sparkling Dolce & Gabbana designer glasses above her black-and-white prison stripes.
Smith said she will seek the death penalty for Blanc when the case goes to trial, probably in the summer. Joanne Lynch, a public defender who represents Blanc, said the case is in a preliminary stage and the facts are still undetermined. Boone County Circuit Judge Anthony W. Frohlich has scheduled a hearing today to determine whether Wilkinson is mentally competent to stand trial. His lawyers also will seek to have his confession tossed out.
Sartory's last known act was to send two dozen red roses on Valentine's Day to Terri Davis, the woman he visited in Binghamton.
"The flowers were so beautiful," she said. "I tried calling him and calling him and calling him. And then I heard the news. And I cried, and I cried, and I cried."

'UPRISING' PLANNED TO TARGET 'WEST BANK' JEWS By Aaron Klein
Violent campaign comes amid U.S. pressure for Israel to evacuate territory
JERUSALEM - The Palestinian Authority has decided to support and encourage a "low-level" popular uprising in the strategic West Bank, according to Palestinian and Jordanian intelligence sources.
The decision comes at a time of increased international pressure, including from the Obama administration, for Israeli-Palestinian talks aimed at an eventual Israeli withdrawal from most of the West Bank. The determination also comes as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government has been enforcing a 10-month freeze on Jewish West Bank construction in line with U.S. demands.
The Palestinian and Jordanian sources told WND the decision empowers local leaders of PA President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah organization to lead what would be viewed as a "popular struggle" of Palestinians protesting as well as throwing stones, rocks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli soldiers and Jewish residents of the West Bank.
The "struggle" would be concentrated against Israeli West Bank communities, anti-terror checkpoints and an Israeli security fence that snakes alongside the West Bank.
According to the Palestinian and Jordanian sources, a PA committee has been studying how to best support and finance the "popular struggle." The sources said that for now the PA has decided against "higher-level" terrorist attacks, such as roadside shootings or suicide bombings.
Just yesterday, a young Israeli woman was moderately wounded when Palestinians hurled a firebomb at the bus in which she was riding south of the West Bank biblical city of Hebron.
Also yesterday, some 20 Palestinian demonstrators clashed with Israel Defense Forces soldiers stationed in Hebron, with one soldier lightly wounded after a Palestinian protestor bit him.
Last week, Rabbi Meir Avshalom Chai, a 40-year-old West Bank Jewish teacher and father of seven, was murdered in a shooting attack on a road near his home, in an area where Israel had recently lifted a roadblock restricting Palestinian movement.
According to sources inside the PA speaking to WND, the Palestinian Authority was against the shooting of Chai, which they said was financed by the Iranian-backed Hezb'Allah militia in Lebanon.
Indeed, according to Israeli security officials speaking to WND, Israel has specific information that Kais Obeid, a Hezb'Allah militant in Lebanon, directed and financed Chai's murder. Obeid was also responsible for the 2000 kidnaping of Israeli businessman Elhanan Tannenbaum, who was released by Hezb'Allah in a 2004 prisoner exchange. Obeid is an Israeli Arab who crossed the border into Lebanon and joined with Hezb'Allah in the 1990s.
Over the weekend, an Israeli raid killed three Fatah terrorists that Israel says were responsible for Rabbi Chai's murder and were, according to Israeli sources speaking to WND, directed by Obeid.
Emmanuel Winston comments:
This sounds like a planned re-play of the start-up of Yassir Arafat's first Intifada after the Oslo Accords were signed and 7 cities in Judea and Samaria were surrendered to Arafat. I always believed and I wrote that the First Intifada was a "Riot Trap" to advance the abandonment of Judea, Samaria, Gaza and the Golan Heights and most of Jerusalem. It was guided by Yitzhak Rabin, Shimon Peres, Arafat and the CIA as follows: Rabin went to Washington to meet then President George Herbert Walker Bush to plead for more American pressure on Israel to push for evacuation of Judea, Samaria and Gaza. Peres went to France to meet with the President of France and then on to England to meet then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher - to get both to pressure Israel for the ultimate surrenders - same agenda. Both Rabin and Peres needed a high profile action event to make their case and the "coincidental Riot Trap" that Arafat gave them was the First Intifada. It started in Rafah, a town half in Israel and half in the Sinai Desert, earlier surrendered to Egypt by PM Menachem Begin.
As the "First Intifada" built in violence, both Rabin and Peres refused to return to Israel, giving the uprising sufficient time to build - thereby assisting their mission to get America, France and England to force Israel to abandon more land in useless gestures of "withdrawal".
The idea was to demonstrate that outside foreign pressure was needed to bring peace to the Middle East by "pacifying" Arafat and the Muslim Arab nations. That Leftist trick has been repeated several times since then and now under Abbas, Netanyahu and Obama.
Since Arafat was in contact with Rabin, Peres and the U.S. Arabist State Department, no doubt with the deft hand of the CIA (which was excellent at starting insurrections anywhere in the world, the "Intifada" grew and grew - as planned.
Strangely, on the Egyptian side of the border in Rafah, the Muslim Arab Palestinians were also rioting. The Egyptians sent in several of their Army trucks. They dropped their tailgates and displayed 50 calibre machine guns. They raked the rioters with live ammunition. When the street was littered with dead Muslim Arab Palestinians, they closed up and drove away, leaving the dead right where they were. That ended the Intifada rioting on the Egyptian side of the border.
In the meantime, Rabin and Peres stayed on in America, France and England, refusing to return to stop the Intifada on the Israeli side of the border. If that was the plan they conspired by colluding with Arafat, with possible CIA overview, it worked. Of course, Rabin and Peres had crossed the line if they were knowing participants into the murky realm of "High Treason".
Since they controlled the Israeli Government as her leading officials, there was no follow-on investigation or questioning. The low-level start-up of an "Uprising" mentioned in the following Aaron Klein article is suspiciously like the earlier start-up of Arafat's first "Intifada".
Only, this time, we hear from the current Defense Minister Ehud Barak, stating that there is increased "Terror" in Judea and Samaria (pejoratively called the "West Bank") which is linked with the Netanyahu, Barak, Obama plan to drive the Jews out of Judea, Samaria, (Gaza is already gone), all of Jerusalem that Jordan occupied and desecrated for 19 years from 1948 to 1967, the Golan Heights and the Jordan Valley.
If the First Intifada plan worked once, why not try it again? Many of the same traitors are still around and in power. President Barack Hussein Obama has already given the "green light" to advance hostilities against Israel - so an Abu Mazen Intifada is to be expected.

Am Yisrael wants the Temple rebuilt!
A survey conducted by the Panels Insitute revealed that 64 % of the Israeli public , and half of secular Israelis, want the Temple rebuilt. 97% of respondents know that the Temple was destroyed on Tisha B'Av ( Ninth of Av).
The survey's second question queried the public’s desire to rebuild the Temple. Sixty-four percent responded favorably and 36 percent said no. Analysis of the answers revealed that not only hareidi-religious and other religious Jews want to rebuild the Temple, (100 percent and 97 percent respectively), but also the traditional public (91 percent) and many secular Jews (47 percent) do as well.
Just a reminder to our many enemies, specially 'you know who' (below ), from Isaiah the Prophet:
Isaiah 49:24-26
"Can prey be taken back from a strong one; can the righteous captive escape?
But thus said Hashem: Even the captive of the strong can be taken back, and the prey of the mighty can escape; I, Myself, will take up your cause, and I, MYSELF, WILL SAVE YOUR CHILDREN.
And I will feed your oppressors their own flesh, and as with sweet wine shall they become drunk; then all flesh shall know that I am Hashem, your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Israel."

THE STATE IS THE ENEMY!
"You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple. They were supposed to force these people, the ... public, to turn to the state to ask for greater security.
This is the political logic which remains behind all the massacres and the bombings which remain unpunished, because the state cannot convict itself or declare itself responsible for what happened."

THE DARK SIDE OF THE U.S.A.: AS IN SERBIA, SO IN YESHA...
... in 1998, the US State Department and intelligence agencies decided to use the Kosovo Liberation Army to get rid of Slobodan Miloševic. "The US agenda was clear. When the time was right they were going to use the KLA to provide the solution to the political problem" – the "problem" being, as Marshall explains earlier, Miloševic’s continued political survival. This meant supporting the KLA’s terrorist secessionism, and later fighting a war against Yugoslavia on its side. Marshall quotes Mark Kirk, a US naval intelligence officer, saying that, "Eventually we opened up a huge operation against Miloševic, both secret and open." The secret part of the operation involved not only things like stuffing the various observer missions which were sent into Kosovo with officers from the British and American intelligence services, but also – crucially – giving military, technical, financial, logistical and political support to the KLA, which, as Marshall himself admits, "smuggled drugs, ran prostitution rackets and murdered civilians." "Bags of money had been brought in for years.... Organisations controlled by George Soros also played a crucial role, as they were later to do, in 2003–4, in Georgia.... The so-called "democrats" were, in reality, nothing but foreign agents."
