Emergency Situation at the Electric Company
The Israel Electric Company declared an emergency situation, Sunday evening, after the fall of two production units in Alon Tabor and Gezer. Following the malfunction, the utility's reserves fell from 11,800 megawatts to 11,200 MW. Demand on Sunday was recorded as high as 11,000 MW.
It's the second time in a week that an emergency has been declared at the electric company.

" As the forerunner solar wind protons continue a steady increase, indicators that the CME is on the way, the wait continues for it to impact the Earth's magnetic field," center officials wrote in an update. "Look for that in the next few hours."

Forty American Jewish leaders sent a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday, expressing concerns about the findings of the Levy Committee regarding the legality of Jewish settlements in the West Bank. The letter was initiated and organized by the Israel Policy Forum. "As strong advocates for Israel’s security and well-being as a Jewish and democratic state, we are deeply concerned about the recent findings of the government commission led by [retired Supreme Court Justice] Edmund Levy. We fear that if approved, this report will place the two-state solution, and the prestige of Israel as a democratic member of the international community, in peril," the letter read. Signatories to the letter include philanthropists Charles Bronfman and Lester Crown; Marvin Lender Former National Chairman of UJA; Deborah Lipstadt, Dorot Professor of Modern Jewish History and Holocaust Studies at Emory University; Bernard Nussbaum, former White House Counsel; Richard Pearlstone, former chairman of the Jewish Agency; and Rabbi David Saperstein, director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism. The Levy Committee, which was formed by Netanyahu and headed by former Supreme Court Justice Edmond Levy, said in its 89-page report released last week that “Israel does not meet the criteria of ‘military occupation’ as defined under international law” in the West Bank, and that therefore settlements and West Bank outposts are legal. The report recommends changing the legal regulations concerning Jewish settlement in the West Bank in the areas of zoning, demolitions and building. The findings of the committee are subject to the review and approval of Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein. "Securing Israel’s future as a Jewish and democratic state requires diplomatic and political leadership, not legal maneuverings," the US Jewish leaders continued. "We recognize and regret that the Palestinian Authority has abdicated leadership by not returning to the negotiating table. Nonetheless, our great fear is that the Levy Report will not strengthen Israel's position in this conflict, but rather add fuel to those who seek to delegitimize Israel’s right to exist." "At this moment, it is more critical than ever that Israel strengthen its claim in the international community that it is committed to a two-state vision, which is, in turn, central to Israel’s future as a Jewish and democratic state," the letter concluded.
And just as a reminder: read here about the role of Edgar Bronfman, the brother of Charles Bronfman mentioned here, in the Bilateral Agreement with the Vatican: he was neck deep in doodoo, i.e. in double -dealing for Rome. A Bronfman should be the last person to be trusted when it comes to Israel! Charles Bronfman himself is a CFR member. The other '"leaders" are made of the same mold, maybe not as obvious.

The problem is Bibi. He will get scared and back off. He is also a CFR member, Barry just sent out a post to remind us all of Bibi's deep connections to ROMNEY via the CFR. I am afraid Bibi will bury the report, or at least refuse to act upon it. Those guys are just messengers, both for Rome, for Washington, and for themselves, "their own Tuchesses", as somebody aptly put it. They know the fix is in, if this passes they are toast. And Clinton here for damage control - no friendly visit I am sure - they want this report like a hole in the head: Barak to Meet Clinton in Jerusalem
Defense Minister Ehud Barak will meet on Monday with U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, at the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem.
Clinton, who is currently in the region, met over the weekend with Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi. While in Israel, she also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres. Finally, from Jack:
Israel is obligated to facilitate America's relations with Israel's
enemies, even to the extent of taking casualties without fighting back. It is
not acceptable for Jews to fight back. We are supposed to run to a powerful
non-Jewish protector to defend us. To ensure that our protector will in fact
protect us in the hour of need, we have to constantly suck up to our protector
and make sure that we are so useful and so valuable to him that he will reckon
it in his interest to do so. That has been the only acceptable strategy of
Jewish “self defense” most of the time for the last 2,700 years. Jews are
always allowed to grovel in self defense.
What
if our enemies are more useful and more valuable to our protectors than we?
What if President Bush has finally grasped the fact that the Jews don't have
any oil and the Arabs do? Contrary to what the whole world believes, the Arabs
also have a lot more money. That’s not
all. In the memorable words of Billy Carter, "There's a lot more Arabs
than there is Jews". What if Bush, our protector, has grasped all that?
Well, then we Jews are supposed to wring our hands and cry "Oy veh!"
And die, of course. But on no account are we to fight back. That is anathema to
Moslems. In Islamic law, it is forbidden for a Jew (or a Christian, by the way)
to strike a Moslem for any reason whatsoever. The Christians might as well have
had such a law because it is similarly utterly repugnant and unacceptable to
the Christian world for Jews to defend themselves.
So,
when rioters attack Israeli military positions with stones and fire bombs and
with gunmen among the rioters with AK-47 assault rifles, Israel may not
fire on them. That's "excessive force". But UN
"peacekeepers" in Sierra
Leone fired on rioters throwing stones,
ABSENT the gunmen with sub-machine guns. So did police in Goteborg,
Genoa and Cincinnati,
likewise in the absence of gunmen. No one condemned them for "excessive
force" because they have the right of self-defense. They aren't Jews.
No one picked up on it. Not even the Jewish papers or the
Israeli media. Did no one notice? Or would it just not be smart to say such a
thing where your protector can hear? “Shah! Stille! [Sh! Be quiet!]
You’ll get us in trouble.”
