Compliments of Honenu
CLINTON IN GENEVA:
“Mercenaries and thugs have been turned loose to attack demonstrators,” Clinton said, according to a prepared text of a speech today in Geneva. “As we move forward on these fronts, we will continue to explore all possible options for action -- as we have said, nothing is off the table so long as the Libyan government continues to threaten and kill Libyan citizens.”
...Oops, I thought she meant the Israeli government against Havat Gilad: I guess there is a double standard when you are dealing with Jews, isn't there... Maybe it is time to raise hell internationally: government-sponsored THUGS ARE THREATENING ( I wish that were all it is ) AND KILLING ( wounding for sure, we do not know the condition of the wounded) ISRAELI CITIZENS...
Police Shoot at Protestors in the Shomron
Shots Fired at Havat Gilad Protesters
Adar 24, 5771, 28 February 11 08:00
(Israelnationalnews.com) The Samaria Residents' Council reports that a number of protesters were wounded Monday morning, when security forces fired massive rounds of rubber bullets during the razing of a structure and a tent in the Samarian Jewish outpost community of Havat Gilad (Gilad's Farm). The condition of the victims was not immediately known.
The Women in Green and Judean Action Committees vehemently protested the use of rubber bullets against the Havat Gilad residents. In a statement to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, they said, "Bibi, the wounded are your responsibility! Stop hiding behind [Defense Minister Ehud] Barak. The end of regimes that fire on their citizens can be seen in the countries around us."

Clamor Increases to Investigate Police Violence at Gilad Farm

by Hillel FendelThe police denied using rubber bullets – and the residents confirmed. “They used pneumatic bullets, which are much worse,” said one resident; see photo (red background, below) showing samples of projectiles shot by the police.
The end of the video above [provided by the Shomron Residents Committee] shows a policeman shooting at a resident from “three meters away,” according to Ilana Shimon, Community Director and member of the town council. "My husband was protesting how they shoved me and tore off my sister-in-law's head kerchief, so they pushed him away and then shot him from short-range... There was tremendous violence of all kinds - violence, violence, violence. They took our adopted son and arrested him – and then, even after he was on the floor, they continued beating him!”
Destroyed were a home, the foundations of two homes, a tent above one of them, and the village gate.
Shimon said the residents of the farm – 28 families, most with young children – plan to immediately begin building three additional buildings as their response to today’s events. “Though we are short on funds, and we have had to raise funds for soler fuel just to heat our homes, we are embarking on this campaign because the only answer to these tribulations is to keep on building! For those who want to help, our bank account number is Mizrachi-Tefachot 483-188835.”
Yesha Council Chairman Danny Dayan has already written to IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz and Israel Police Chief David Cohen, demanding that they investigate the source of the orders to open fire at residents during the demolition operation.
"It is completely unthinkable,” Dayan wrotes, “that soldiers and police officers would point a weapon at the inhabitants, and it doesn't matter what kind of ammunition is being used."
Residents of Havat Gilad said that in addition to dye bullets, police also used gas grenades and stun grenades.
The Legal Forum for the Land of Israel called for the Police Investigation Unit to open an immediate inquiry into today’s events. Forum Director Nachi Eyal said that the 13 wounded and the level of violence shows that security forces acted savagely. “It must be ascertained who gave the orders to be overly violent,” he said, “and the Forum will do what it can to bring those responsible to trial… Any soldier or policeman who doesn't understand that enforcement of construction laws does not justify shooting at citizens should be banned from serving in the security services of the State of Israel."
MK Zevulun Orlev said he was “astounded” by the level of violence displayed by security forces. "We will demand a thorough investigation and prosecution of security forces," he said. Earlier, MK Uri Ariel (National Union) said he expected to see the violent police officers and those who gave them their orders brought to trial.
Complaint on Havat Gilad Filed with Police
Adar 24, 5771, 28 February 11 12:50
(Israelnationalnews.com) Manager Orit Strook of the Yesha Human Rights Organization filed a complaint Monday with the Police Investigation Unit, demanding an investigation of the use of rubber bullets - by those who fired and those who gave the orders - against people who protested the demolition of a building and a tent in the Samarian Jewish hilltop community of Havat Gilad (Gilad's Farm).
The complaint says that photographs and other evidence show that police used new weapons to fire ammunition directly - and at times at point-blank range - at Havat Gilad residents. Strook said an incident as serious as this demands that the field investigation be immediate, given the fact that civilians were targetted.

Adar 24, 5771, 28 February 11 12:15
(Israelnationalnews.com) Chairman Danny Dayan sent letters Monday to Chief of Staff Benny Gantz of the Israel Defense Forces and Police Chief David Cohen with a demand that they investigate who gave the order to use serious weapons fire during the demolition of a building, a tent and the gate to the Samarian Jewish outpost community of Havat Gilad (Gilad's Farm) during the early-morning hours.
Dayan wrote, "It's completely unthinkable that soldiers and police officers would point a weapon at inhabitants [of the area], and it doesn't matter what kind of ammunition is being used." Police denied anti-demolition protesters' charges that rubber bullets were used, but said dye bullets were used.

ReplyDeleteI GOT THIS PULLED DOWN, THIS IS A SHAME.. BUT WHEN YOU HAVE THESE MASKS ON COPS YOU NEVER KNOW WHO IS SHOOTING .
I SAW POLISH TROOPS (WITHOUT GUNS) IN THE OLD CITY!!! WHEN I WAS THERE IN 2007 OR 2008. THESE THUGS HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING IN UNIFORM IN THE OLD CITY OR ANYWHERE IN JERUSALEM OR ISRAEL FOR ANY REASON. THEY DON’T EVEN BELONG THERE AS MILITARY PEOPLE, IN CIVILIAN CLOTHES. FOREIGN TROOPS FROM OLD RUSSIAN WARSAW PACT COUNTRIES SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED IN ISRAEL.
ONE DAY IN BEN YEHUDA I SAW A YOUNG GUY IN CIVILIAN CLOTHES BUYING AN ISRAELI (IDF) PARATROOP UNIFORM (CAPTAIN’S INSIGNIA WITH ALL THE PATCHES AND UNIT CRESTS, ETC, OF AN ISRAELI AIRBORNE CAPTAIN) IN A MILITARY SHOP ON “UPPER BEN YEHUDA”. HE WAS NOT A JEW AS HE WAS SPEAKING TO THE CLERK IN ENGLISH. BUT WHEN HE MADE A CELL CALL I HEARD HIM SAY BAL SHOYO SPECIBO IN ACCENTED “RUSSIAN”
I SPOKE TO HIM. HE WAS A “LATVIAN PARATROOP CAPTAIN” BUT BUYING AN ISRAELI UNIFORM… THIS IS OMINOUS!!!T THIS IS A NO NO. AND SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED.
WE HAVE COPS HERE WHO ARE FOREIGNERS BY THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS, THAT AMERICANS DON’T KNOW ARE HERE. THEY WEAR MASKS AND HAVE BEATEN PEOPLE AT DEMONSTRRATIONS LIKE IN Seattle. THEY WERE NOT US COPS AND THE POLICE CHIEF DIDN’T KNOW THEY WERE NOT HIS OFFICERS. THEY JUST SHOW UP AND DO “THEIR THING”. THE POLICE CHIEF RESIGNED BECAUSE HE COULD “MAKE ANYBODY IN HIS FORCE CONFESS TO DOING IT”. THEY DIDN’T DO IT. IT WAS THE UN COPS WHO “CAME ON THE SCENE” IN BLACK MASKS AND , AS I SAID THEY DID THEIR THING.. I HAVE FIGURED THIS OUT.. THE NEW WORLD ORDER IS VERY CLEVER, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE POPULACE IS TV-DUMBED DOWN BY PROPAGANDA.
