Regarding Rabbi Dov Lior: this outrage is reminiscent of the Romans and Rabbi Akiva, reminiscent of the Inquisition, of the Nazis, of the Soviets, etc; of course! It comes from the same source. And see what Shimon Peres has been busy with these days; any wonder, then?

  • Large Shows of Support for Rabbi Lior

(Israelnationalnews.com) Jewish groups and leaders in Israel expressed their outrage on Monday following the issuing of an arrest warrant by Israel Police against Rabbi Dov Lior.
Rabbi Lior is wanted for questioning for having given his approval to the book “Torat HaMelech.” The book, which was written by Rabbi Yitzchak Shapira, discusses the legal aspects of life-and-death issues between Jews and non-Jews, especially in times of war. It speaks of the importance of a Jewish soldier saving his life or the life of a fellow Jew, even if the consequence is killing those who threaten Jewish lives.
Rabbi Shapira, who heads the Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva in the Shomron town of Yitzhar, was himself arrested over the book in July. 30 copies of his book were confiscated by police at the time.
Rabbi Lior was summoned for questioning as well over the book, which police claim incites to violence against non-Jews. He has refused to appear for questioning, leading the police to issue the arrest warrant against him.
A show of support was expressed towards the rabbi on Monday evening. MK Yaakov “Ketzaleh” Katz, chairman of the National Union party, expressed his shock over the arrest warrant and said: “The people of Israel are ashamed of [Minister of Internal Security] Aharonovitch and the police leadership whose hatred of the Torah puts them out of their minds. They would not arrest any dean of a faculty or a Muslim or Christian cleric for writing an agreement to a book. The warrant is a reminder of dark regimes in the history of Israel.”
Katz added that should Rabbi Lior be imprisoned, “the entire party will join him in prison along with the public.”
MK Aryeh Eldad said that “the arrest warrant issued against Rabbi Lior is a step up in the fight of the prosecution against freedom of expression of rabbis and authorities. Vile racist expressions against Jews are tolerated and are considered ‘free speech’. But when rabbis and authorities write an approval for a book of halakha it is considered racist and justifies persecution.”
Eldad noted that when police summon for questioning professors who preach for an attack in Israel or against serving in the IDF, only then could the same be done to rabbis. “Until then, this is political persecution,” he said.
The Legal Forum for the Land of Israel also condemned the warrant. As Director Nachi Eyal said, those who issue an arrest warrant over a consent given by a rabbi to a book are lacking a basic understanding of Israeli society, and violate every basic rule of decency and freedom of expression.
Eyal added that the reality in which lecturers and academics boycotting Israel and those who call to harm Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria are not arrested, while an arrest warrant is issued against a rabbi, is a disastrous provision regarding public confidence in law enforcement.
The Mattot Arim organization reminded of an incident in which left-wing activists distributed stickers in which they called to shoot Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria in the head, since “a good settler is a dead settler,” as they said.
Mattot Arim pointed out that a criminal complaint against the sticker was ignored by the Israeli police, and as such “there is no possibility to all of a sudden arrest and prosecute Jewish residents (not to mention rabbis) who did not even do one hundredth of what it says on that sticker.”
Rabbi Lior’s supporters have announced a demonstration in support of him in his home on Tuesday. Leaflets which were distributed throughout Israel on Monday evening read:
“The rally will be for the purpose of strengthening the rabbi and protesting the disrespect shown for the Torah. We were shocked to hear the malicious intention to arrest Rabbi Dov Lior Shlita. This is the same pursuit of the Torah which in the past has been done by the enemies of Israel, now being conducted by the State Attorney's Office under the leadership of Deputy Attorney General Shai Nitzan.”
The flyers call for everyone – “Rabbis and their students, Beit Midrash goers, housewives, craftsmen and teachers of both young and old,” to gather on Tuesday morning outside Rabbi Lior’s home for a protest of support.
“We will tell Israeli rabbis say that arresting them is the same as hurting the entire public,” say the supporters. “We will not be silent in the face of the evil coming out of the State Attorney's Office, to destroy and corrupt the faith of Israel.”

  • Rabbi Lior: "Gov't Clerks Can't Tell Rabbis what to Say'

About 1,000 people congregated outside Rabbi Dov Lior's home in Kiryat Arba Tuesday morning in a show of support for the venerated rabbi, against whom police have issued an arrest warrant. Numerous bodies and personages have come out in support of the rabbi since news od the arrest warrant was published Monday.
Rabbi Lior addressed the crowd and said: "If a rabbi is asked on a Torah matter, he is bound to answer, even if it involves a risk. I have no doubt that those who care about the dignity of the nation and the Land of Israel will give voice to Torah opinion even if they are threatened with all kinds of threats. That is why they were chosen - it is not like the politicians."
"Unless the state declares that the Rabbis may not voice opinions on politics, sort of like what happened under the Bolsheviks, who dictated what to say and what to think," the Rabbi said, "it is inconceivable that some little clerk in a government office will dictate to rabbis what to say."
"We call upon the Prime Minister, who is responsible for everything, to give  clear instructions  to stop stop all these stupid persecutions," the rabbi told the throng. "I did not hear that they interrogated professors or 'cultural luminaries.'  and academics from southern Israel who are in league with the haters of Israel - we did not hear that they were questioned. But rabbis who express Torah opinion - they come and investigate them. This needs to be stopped! No threat will deter us from saying the truth and the Word of G-d."
The state of Israel is a Divine creation, said Rabbi Lior, in keeping with the basic tenet of religious Zionism. There is "a problem in the way [the state] is being run," he explained. He expressed hope that the state would soon be run in accordance with the Torah of Israel.
MK Yaakov Katz (National Union) called the Minister of Public Security Monday evening to express his outrage over the arrest warrant. Minister Yitzchak Aharonovich admitted there had been an "error of judgement" by the Hevron police but would not promise to rescind the warrant.

... And this, at a time when Rome is actively meddling in Hevron affairs, as usual - see my many articles about the Catholic Church's direct meddling in the life of Hevron Jews; I have a strong feeling that both events, the persecution of Rav Lior, and the establishment of a terror city right in our midst,  are related, and come from the exact same source:

So the pope wants to send terrorists right to our doorstep, "better to eat you with, my dear" ? So what if on the surface it looks like Spain is doing it? We know full well that Spain is a proxy for the Vatican: if Spain is encouraging and funding this project, you can be 100%  sure that Benedikt is behind it!

We are not scared of you, Benedikt! You are just one sick, devious, murderous, hypocritical practitioner of the black arts; there is a Higher Authority than you running the show, watching over us every minute of every day!

And as for you, Shimon Peres, you are barely recovering from losing your wife, and here you are again, already running all over Spain, promoting your goal of expelling Jews from the Land of Israel, helping Benedikt in all his murderous plans. You will meet your Judge soon "derech Hatevah" , according to the natural order of things; at your age you should be VERY careful: you will have a very heavy price to pay for everything you did to the Jewish People,  for all the Jews who got savagely murdered because of you and your 'peace' process. And now you want to add even more crimes to your long list???

From Anonymous:
I know your site made note of the article where Spain recently created an ambassador position for a non-existent PA State.
Shortly after this the Spanish King went to the Ibero-America summit in Argentina (in Dec/2010) and within days of this summit one after another Spanish speaking countries have been coming out calling for a PA State. There was to be an Arab League/S. America summit in mid-Feb which most likely will be cancelled due to the unrest in Egypt....it looked promising there would be a special announcement at that summit if it were to take place.
Peres has always been supporting the creation of a PA State. The outcome of his 5-day visit to Spain in a couple of weeks may be worth watching. I know the Spanish FM is presently in Israel and caused much concern for the settlers.
Take care and may God bless you in all that you do.

  • Peres meets with Spanish FM ahead of visit to Spain

Trinidad Jimenez, Spain’s newly appointed foreign minister, arrived in Israel on Monday for a three-day visit to mark the beginning of 25th anniversary celebrations of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Jimenez met with President Shimon Peres on Monday evening. She told Peres that Spain – especially former prime minister Filipe Gonzalez , with whom the president maintained close ties in the Socialist International – was looking forward to his arrival. Peres is scheduled to begin a five-day visit on February 21.

The two countries forged diplomatic ties on January 17, 1986, despite the unhealed, centuries-old scars of the Spanish Inquisition, which drove Jews out.

In March 1992, then-president Chaim Herzog travelled to Spain to mark the nullification of the edict of expulsion signed on March 31, 1492, by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. On the 500th anniversary of the edict, Herzog and King Juan Carlos attended prayers at a Madrid synagogue.

“We still have many things to do together,” she said.
Jimenez, who was in Washington two weeks ago discussing developments in the Middle East with Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, was particularly keen to hear Peres’s views on what he anticipated would happen in the region.

She did not want to limit the discussion to peace endeavors between Israel and the Palestinians, but was much more interested in the wider picture.

She will discuss the same issues with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Education Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Opposition leader Tzipi Livni, whose last ministerial post was that of foreign minister.
  • Hevron Jews Furious at Spanish FM's Visit

(Israelnationalnews.com) Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Trinidad Jiménez, visited Hevron Tuesday morning, in order to view a construction project in an Arab neighborhood that her country is partially underwriting.
The area lies between Kiryat Arba and Ma'arat Ha'Machpela (the Tomb of the Patriarchs) and is to house the families of terrorists.
Jiménez did not coordinate her visit to the so-called “Eastern Casbah” neighborhood with Israeli officials, a detail that raised the ire of the Jewish community. Jewish officials said the visit was not coordinated with Israel's Foreign Ministry.
When Kiryat Arba - Hevron officials got wind of the impending visit, however, they promptly fired off a protest letter to Jiménez, in which they said the construction was neither "humanitarian nor cultural," but rather aimed at creating “a hostile demographic buffer, with a potential for terrorism, which could erupt at any moment, at the heart of the tiny Jewish area, near the holy site - the Tomb of the Patriarchs."
Recalling Spain's expulsion of it's Jewish population 519 years ago, the letter chided Jiménez, saying “Spain is remembered in Jewish history as a country that brought about a great national disaster, betrayed its Jewish citizens and expelled them. A small number of those expelled reached Hevron, where they found refuge and built a Jewish community."
“Does the government of Spain intend to bring about yet another expulsion of Hevron's Jews – the City of the Patriarchs of the Jewish People?” the letter read.
Hevron spokesman David Wilder told Israel National News that community leaders, including Noam Arnon, held a brief meeting  with Jiménez in Beit Hadassah.
“She said she was familiar with Jewish history and said she was only visiting to try to help so all can live here peacefully,” Wilder said.
“We are, of course, upset that she met with us for five minutes, and didn't visit the museum," Wilder said, adding that the Jews of Hevron would “appreciate a public declaration of support for the Jewish community.”
Wilder added, though, that “Jiménez did say specifically that the Spanish government does not support expelling Jews from their homes in Hevron.” Wilder added that “It's very unfortunate that Spain sees fit to participate in such activities and, and the same time – essentially, to ignore us.”

Check into the matter of Sonya Peres. She became a בעלת תשובה long ago. Many years ago it was already known to every journalist in the country that she had not lived with him for years. He lived with a פילגש whose name you will also easily discover. She became a prominent, high ranking figure in the Labor Party. That is how women rise to power and authority in the Israeli system. In general, the way to power is by attaching oneself to one of the powerful leaders and serving that leader with utter devotion. Beilin was “Peres’ poodle” but no matter. It’s taken for granted. That’s how it works. For women, it tends to involve service of a “special” kind. I don’t know if she still lives with him or when she had acquired enough power to declare her independence of him. She probably followed him to Kadima.

  5. And here is another one, from the same source: shocking! For English speakers: it discusses the interference ( by X...) into the judges' decisions. Unbelievable, so against Torah, and so against the justice system, period!
