Freeze News: Jewish Mayor Beaten in Clashes with Inspectors
Kislev 19, 5770, 06 December 09 10:57
by Hillel Fendel(Israelnationalnews.com) After a Sabbath break, the anti-freeze battles continue – and another mayor has been physically beaten. Residents of Kedumim, one of the most veteran communities in Samaria, came out in droves on Sunday morning to block Civil Administration officials from distributing stop-work orders on building projects in the town.
The inspectors were accompanied by special Yassam unit police officers, who reportedly used strong violence to disperse the protestors. The Yassamnikim hit the town’s mayor, Chananel Durani, and his deputy, eyewitnesses say, and threw young girls on the street.
The inspectors ultimately succeeded in entering the town, where they placed the stop-work orders and quickly left. Their cars were pelted with eggs and other objects, courtesy of the residents.
The Shomron Residents Committee reports that on their way to Kedumim, the forces drove through three nearby Arab villages – Funduk, Haja, and Kadoum – places that the army generally considers too dangerous to enter in order to apprehend terrorists or confiscate weapons.
To the Jewish residents’ horror, they learned that the Arab residents applauded as the convoy of forces drove through.
A ministerial committee has been formed to deal with enforcement of the 10-month construction freeze. Headed by Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Minister Benny Begin, the committee is scheduled to convene on Sunday afternoon to discuss ways to ease some of the decrees of the freeze.
UPDATE 12/7:
(Israelnationalnews.com) Dozens of girls succeeded early Monday afternoon in preventing building freeze inspectors from entering the community of Maaleh Levonah in Samaria while a second group of girls surrounded inspectors in Revava until special Yassam policemen arrived and pushed the youth out of the way, allowing the inspectors to make a quick getaway. Police remained and punched Deputy Regional Council Chairman Reuven Ben Aryeh, who required hospitalization.
In Maaleh Levonah, Border Police eventually managed to enter the community but quickly left, apparently wanting to avoid a confrontation.
Border Police and special ”Yassam” police units were caught on video on Sunday manhandling girls in non-violent protests in Kedumim, in violation of standard operating procedures.
One 11th grade girl from Kedumim told Arutz 7, “I told the police they have not right to touch me. What can they do to me? Arrest me? They won’t put me in jail, but I am prepared to sit in prison for the sake of the Land of Israel. The government is shooting itself in the foot. Netanyahu does what the Americans tell him to do.
“What are we? Ragdolls of the Americans? We are fed up.”
UPDATE 12/9:
(Israelnationalnews.com) A large demonstration is taking place at this hour in Paris Square against the government freeze on Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria.
At the demonstration large forces of police have been stationed as well as mounted police and water hoses.

Revava: Yassam Police Injure Deputy Head of Shomron
Kislev 20, 5770, 07 December 09 02:00
(Israelnationalnews.com) Yassam special enforcement police severely injured the deputy head of the Shomron council, Reuben Gur Ariyeh, during clashes with troops who came to enforce the freeze orders in the Samarian town of Revava. Gur Ariyeh was injured and taken to hospital with a possible concussion.
Head of the Samaria Regional Council, Gershon Mesika, said in response, "I'm shocked by the police brutality and violence of the last week and a half, and convinced that the violence is being directed from above in order to suppress the settlement enterprise, but we will not break."
... And brutal Yassam forces were caught on tape abusing girls; the tape promptly censured: they can perpetrate crimes, but don't want to be found out! Cowardly, brutal, subhuman beasts who learned so well from the Nazis! They will get their own sooner or later, just as Barak will too.Head of the Samaria Regional Council, Gershon Mesika, said in response, "I'm shocked by the police brutality and violence of the last week and a half, and convinced that the violence is being directed from above in order to suppress the settlement enterprise, but we will not break."
Meanwhile, brutal, cowardly and corrupt snake of a general Ehud Barak, who deserves to be prosecuted in an international court for war crimes - against his own people - said this:
State will Enforce Its 'Mastery' over Citizens
Kislev 20, 5770, 07 December 09 05:17
by Gil Ronen(Israelnationalnews.com) Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Monday that the orders to freeze construction in Judea and Samaria “are under the government's sponsorship, they need to be enforced and they will be enforced.” He said the enforcement would be carried out “in a way that is attentive to the nuances of the reality on the ground, but they will be enforced and we will make sure that the State will enforce its mastery over its citizens.”
Barak used the Hebrew word “marut,” which can be translated as "authority" but has overtones of forcefulness and control, and also means “mastery” or “overlordship.” He chose the word over the much more common “samchut,” which means “authority.”
Barak's words were an indirect response to statements by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu who hinted that inspectors had gone too far, told the Knesset that the freeze “has nothing to do with building that has already started” and that “there must be coordination between the decision and its implementation.”
Speaking at the start of a gathering of the Labor Knesset faction, Barak said: "The freeze was carried out in order to exhaust all means of renewing the negotiations in order to kick-start an arrangement with the goal of ending the conflict and a reality of two states for two nations – a Palestinian state that lives beside Israel and whose existence ends the occupation and our control over another nation. This goal is still distant, however, and there are negotiations.”
Eyal Gabbai, Director of the Prime Minister's Office, was also present at the Labor meeting.
