Re: the gay parade in Jerusalem; so , besides a prayer, are we dead?

B"H

Shavuah Tov to all, including RABBIS,

THEY are actively organizing for their DEATH EVENT. Are WE organizing for our LIFE event, or are we going to let them bring us DEATH TO JERUSALEM AND ISRAEL?

Is PRAYER the only tool we have, really? Or is this simply laziness, fear, lack of imagination and weariness?

PS: I am NOT knocking prayer, but there is a time and place for everything. Prayer is very nice, AND WHAT ABOUT ACTION? Zero? Gur nicht? Nada? Niente? Shum klum??

1. The PROPAGANDA:

About Jerusalem Open House

From the windows of the JOH, we observe the Jerusalem LGBTQ community every day: a community that is growing more sure of itself, a city that is learning to recognize the legitimacy of our presence – and much work that remains to be done.
Flag.jpg
The Jerusalem Open House (JOH) is a grassroots, activist organization of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people, and allies.

Since 1997, we have worked to make our city a place where all people are free to seek self-fulfillment. Our greatest challenge is a tradition of conformist heterosexism that continues to be enforced by almost all social institutions in Israel, including the family, the school, the state, and the religious establishment. This challenge is especially formidable in Jerusalem, a city of traditional values and deeply rooted religious commitments.

When the JOH was founded in 1997, few even knew there were LGBTQ people in Jerusalem; almost no one believed we could create and sustain a vibrant communal institution. Eight years later, as the rainbow flag dances over our downtown headquarters on HaSoreg Street, and we are building on a remarkable record of achievement.

Through all our trials, we continue to raise our voices together, so that our message echoes across the ancient hills: tolerance has a home in Jerusalem.

Stairway Exhibit

LGBT issues are continuously present in Jerusalem.  Every day gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals, and queers take part in the same daily activities as everyone else.  We walk in the streets, meet with friends, and make art. Leading toward the pride parade, we intend to show the art, in a variety of media, of the LGBT community and let the life and artistic achievements of the community rise above the surface.

In addition to the Pride Parade, during the pride month in Jerusalem there will be another event  which will express the everyday life of the gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals, and queers who are living in Jerusalem.  This "parade" will be in different public spaces on specific dates.
