PA Police May be Operating in Jerusalem

(IsraelNN.com) Jerusalem district police spokesman Shmulik Ben-rubi told Israel National News Tuesday that Palestinian Authority police sometimes operate in north Jerusalem in conjunction with the police and border police in order to settle tribal disputes. He later revised his position and said that the PA police do operate sometimes outside of the green line, but only in areas surrounding the Jerusalem municipality.

Aryeh King, head of the Israel Lands Fund, confirmed that he has frequently seen the PA police when he dealt with land he had purchased from Arabs outside of the green line. In addition, he confirmed that Ben-rubi had also told a foreign journalist previously that the PA police sometimes operate within the Jerusalem municipality.
