(IsraelNN.com) A delegation from the Vatican met with President Shimon Peres Wednesday at his Jerusalem residence in order to plan Pope Benedict XVI's intended visit to Israel next year.

Earlier this year, Jewish groups expressed their dismay at the Pope's desire to canonize Pope Pius XII, who was silent in condemning Nazi leaders during the Holocaust.
