A7 Report: Bibi Willing to Cede Judea and Samaria

A senior political source claims Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is willing to uproot most of Yesha in exchange for Obama's backing.

Arutz Sheva has received an unconfirmed report that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu plans to announce a plan to uproot communities and carry out mass evictions in Judea and Samaria.
Due to the political impasse between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, Netanyahu is expected to propose a final status solution that would leave Israel with only the major settlement blocs and eastern Jerusalem.
All Jewish communities outside the major settlement blocs would reportedly face destruction under the plan.
The report follows a report Monday morning in the Hebrew-language Ma'ariv newspaper claiming that Netanyahu has agreed to relinquish sovereignty over the Jordan Valley.
A senior political source told Arutz Sheva that Netanyahu will present the plan to retreat from Judea and Samaria to U.S. President Barack Obama in exchange for the U.S. endorsing the principles Netanyahu laid out in his Bar Ilan speech.
Those principles are:

The Palestinians must recognize Israel as the Jewish nation’s state.
The treaty must be an end to the conflict.
The Arab refugee problem must be solved outside of Israel’s borders.
A Palestinian state will have to be demilitarized and a peace treaty must safeguard Israel’s security.
The settlement blocs will remain within the State of Israel and Jerusalem will remain its united capital.

While Netanyahu did not specifically mention the Jordan Valley in his Bar Ilan speech he did specify Israel would retain the strategically critical region "regardless of whatever final status agreements are made with the PA."
Netanyahu will reportedly return from his Washington visit and announce "painful concessions" whereby "Israel will implement a large retreat in many places in Judea and Samaria if the PA returns to the table and negotiations gain momentum."
According to the official the idea was initially floated during political talks between Netanyahu's envoy, attorney Yitzchak Molcho, and PLO chief negotiator Saeb Erekat.
It echoes an earlier report from PLO officials that Israel was willing to cede as much as 94% of Judea and Samaria in exchange for the major settlement blocs and eastern Jerusalem.
Earlier on Monday, Netanyahu's office dismissed the Ma'ariv report, calling it "a tendentious and distorted leak from the content of talks whose success depends on the discreetness that both sides committed to."

Massive US Troop Movements In California Raise Russian Concerns

A disturbing report prepared by the Ministry of Defense circulating in the Kremlin today states that Russian Military Officials were rebuffed by NATO yesterday after questions were raised regarding massive troop and war equipment movements in the United States region of California and said to involve over 78,000 soldiers from various countries.

Reports coming in from the United States verify these extraordinary troop movements are currently underway with videos showing massive amounts of tanks and other war equipment being brought into the California region by train near Santa Cruz [see video HERE] and Morgon Hill [see video HERE] along with reports detailing that areas of Los Angeles were cordoned off this week for secret military exercises.

Important to note, this report says, is that even though Russia had withdrawn in 2007 from the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE) it was still able to get explanations for the transferring and movement of Western European and American troops from the United Kingdom under a separate agreement, but which was suspended without notice or explanation by the British government this past 25 November 2011.

Concerns over the military movements of the Western Powers, this report continues, are due to the United States and its European allies accounting for nearly three-quarters of the entire amount spent on armed troops and equipment in the entire world and that over the past decade have unleashed wars in various parts of the globe which they show no signs of stopping.

Russian military intelligence analysis of the camouflage pattern indentified on the thousands of military vehicles and tanks flooding into the California region [see both videos linked above] note that it is a variant of the MARPAT woodland pattern designed for use by US Marine Forces intended for use in urban environments located in temperate zones or tropical areas, but most certainly is not one used in any of Americas current war theaters of operation.

Analysis as to why these troops are currently massing in California, this report says, could involve any number of scenarios including: 1.) A planned US-EU invasion of either Mexico or a South American nation. 2.) Preparations to put down large scale rioting erupting in the United States. 3.) Preparations to assist the civilian population in the aftermath of a catastrophe caused by war or natural disaster.

Russian military analysts in this report note that Mexico could be a “prime target” for US-European military action as its Drug War which began in 2006 has claimed nearly 48,000 lives and during this pivotal election year is now threatened with disintegration as its drug cartels now have more power than the government.

Another analysis in this report notes the United States growing anger at both oil rich Venezuela and Brazil whose left-leaning governments are becoming increasingly opposed to American-European domination and increasingly siding with China and Iran against the West. Important to note in this scenario are that war concerns in Brazil have increased to the point that many are now calling for Brazilians to begin preparing to crush an expected American invasion.

As to the likelihood that these forces massing in California will be used to put down internal dissent appears to have strong validity due to many experts analysis, including Obama regime backer and billionaire George Soros who this week warned that a violent class-war is about to erupt in the United States and stating, “The situation is about as serious and difficult as I've experienced in my career.” Important to note in this scenario is that United States crackdown on protesters has become so violent that the international association known as Reporters Without Borders downgraded press freedom in America to 47^th this week, an astounding fall of 27 places for a country that claims it has the most freedom in the world.

To if these troops massing in California are to be used in the event of a catastrophe we had noted in our previous report, Megaquake Warning Issued For US-Mexican Pacific Coast, that there is, indeed, a growing concern among Russian experts this region may be about to experience a devastating earthquake.

In our world today where the Obama regime has called for more of its troops to be deployed to the Philippines to counter China, has ordered 15,000 more of its troops to Kuwait in preparation for a war with an Iranian nation that is itself “preparing for Armageddon,” these strange and massive troop movements in California do raise a number of concerns, but which without the American people themselves demanding to know what is going on will, as always, leave these poor souls at the mercy of the tyrants who rule over them.

And to how truly barbaric the United States has become, one need look no further than Tariq Aziz, a 16-year-old Pakistani boy who offered to collect information on US drone strikes killing innocent civilians if it would help protect his family, but within 72 hours of making his offer was assassinated by the Americans along with his 12-year-old brother when the car he was travelling in was blown up by a missile fired by a drone.

If even children are now considered enemies by the new “god” Obama who now rules completely over “Battlefield Earth,” one must surely ask themselves what chances anyone has anymore…May the Lord have mercy upon us all.

And while the immediate application of this allegory is to explain events in Europe, it succeeds in capturing all the moving pieces of modern finance.

Helga is the proprietor of a bar.
She realizes that virtually all of her customers are unemployed alcoholics and, as such, can no longer afford to patronize her bar.
To solve this problem, she comes up with a new marketing plan that allows her customers to drink now, but pay later.
Helga keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the customers’ loans).
Word gets around about Helga’s “drink now, pay later” marketing strategy and, as a result, increasing numbers of customers flood into Helga’s bar. Soon she has the largest sales volume for any bar in town.
By providing her customers freedom from immediate payment demands, Helga gets no resistance when, at regular intervals, she substantially increases her prices for wine and beer, the most consumed beverages. Consequently, Helga’s gross sales volume increases massively.
A young and dynamic vice-president at the local bank recognizes that these customer debts constitute valuable future assets and increases Helga’s borrowing limit.
He sees no reason for any undue concern, since he has the debts of the unemployed alcoholics as collateral!!!
At the bank’s corporate headquarters, expert traders figure a way to make huge commissions, and transform these customer loans into DRINKBONDS.These “securities” then are bundled and traded on international securities markets.
Naive investors don’t really understand that the securities being sold to them as “AA” “Secured Bonds” really are debts of unemployed alcoholics.
Nevertheless, the bond prices continuously climb!!!, and the securities soon become the hottest-selling items for some of the nation’s leading brokerage houses.
One day, even though the bond prices still are climbing, a risk manager at the original local bank decides that the time has come to demand payment on the debts incurred by the drinkers at Helga’s bar.
He so informs Helga.
Helga then demands payment from her alcoholic patrons, but being unemployed alcoholics they cannot pay back their drinking debts.
Since Helga cannot fulfil her loan obligations she is forced into bankruptcy.
The bar closes and Helga’s 11 employees lose their jobs.
Overnight, DRINKBOND prices drop by 90%. The collapsed bond asset value destroys the bank’s liquidity and prevents it from issuing new loans, thus freezing credit and economic activity in the community.
The suppliers of Helga’s bar had granted her generous payment extensions and had invested their firms’ pension funds in the BOND securities. They find they are now faced with having to write off her bad debt and with losing over 90% of the presumed value of the bonds.
Her wine supplier also claims bankruptcy, closing the doors on a family business that had endured for three generations, her beer supplier is taken over by a competitor, who immediately closes the local plant and lays off 150 workers. Fortunately though, the bank, the brokerage houses and their respective executives are saved and bailed out by a multibillion dollar no-strings attached cash infusion from the government.
The funds required for this bailout are obtained by new taxes levied on employed, middle-class, non-drinkers who have never been in Helga’s bar.

Postponed Israel-U.S. Drill to be Held in October

The largest-ever anti-missile military exercise with the United States, which Israel postponed a week and a half ago, will be held in October, the Ma’ariv newspaper reported on Thursday.
The report said that the decision to hold the exercise in October was reached late on Thursday night, after lengthy discussions between defense officials.
The “Austere Challenge 12” drill, which is designed to improve defense systems and cooperation between the U.S. and Israeli forces, was postponed on January 15 for what Israel said was “technical” reasons.
Ma’ariv reporte that the postponement was initiated by Israel and was agreed upon by the Americans. After the drill was postponed, the report said, security officials denied that the postponement was linked to economic reasons and suggested that “at this time of year we should not attract attention and prepare for complex challenges” which lay ahead.
Ma’ariv also noted that in preparation for the drill, U.S. military officers will arrive in Israel next week. About 3,000 U.S. soldiers are expected to arrive in Israel to take part in the large-scale exercise, the report said, and they will be joined by about 2,000 IDF soldiers.

I am not a military person, so don't take my word for it: but nine months needed to prepare a drill planned for days ago? Something is not quite kosher here.

October is almost a year away. That means U.S. troops will be stationed on Israeli soil until then, will even add to their numbers, including officers arriving in the next few days, "to prepare for the drill".

Not to mention the contract for Triple Canopy which is going on till September 2012. Not to mention Dyncorp's steady presence too.

What this means is MASSIVE U.S. troops, both official and off the record, are here to stay through the fall.

So, what are they really here for? Good question, I would say.

If they are here because of Iran, then why wait till October for the 'largest-ever anti-missile exercise"? I thought the Iranian danger was imminent, at least as far as Israel is concerned. Obviously the U.S. and Israel will not do a joint drill against Iran until the fall, on the other hand Israel sees Iran as an imminent danger; and yet massive U.S. troops are here to stay. So why are they staying here, what is their purpose? Is this disinformation? Or are they here "just in case" because of the Strait of Hormuz? Deterrence only? But then why so many? Alternatively, against which other major enemy would they be needed here: for an invasion of Syria? Against Egypt? Or against Am Yisrael, against us???

Venezuela Prepares as Chavez's Health Deteriorates

According to a report published by Spanish newspaper ABC on Monday and Tuesday, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez may only have 9-12 months to live as a result of his decision to prioritize presidential duties over personal health. Chavez's prostate cancer was reportedly discovered in January of 2011, at which point his prognosis was five years. Since that initial diagnosis, Chavez has repeatedly postponed treatments or skipped them altogether in the interests of concealing his illness and protecting his political position.
The leaked report, which ABC says was given to the paper by "intelligence services" (much like a November leak to The Wall Street Journal), is dated Jan. 12 and reviews a medical examination Chavez underwent Dec. 30. According to the report, the South American president needs to undergo a painful, debilitating treatment that, while preventing him from working for more than a month, could extend his lifespan. If he defers the treatment, he will likely to die within the year. According to ABC, when presented with a similar conundrum in November, Chavez chose to stay in Caracas rather than travel to Russia for treatment -- out of fear that the political situation in Venezuela was not secure. We have no way to be completely certain that the report accurately represents Chavez's medical condition, but the tenor of the report matches a series of accounts given to Stratfor and other open sources.
Competition within the Chavista inner circle dominated 2011, as each of Chavez's closest associates sought to take best advantage of the turmoil that ensued when Chavez's bout of illness became public in June. The upcoming October elections have added urgency to this struggle. There is no clear successor to Chavez among the Chavista elite. However, Chavez in recent weeks appointed Diosdado Cabello as first vice president of the Venezuelan United Socialist Party and later named him President of the National Assembly. Clearly, a single faction has taken the lead. Cabello represents the pragmatic, militaristic wing of the Chavista elite. However, although powerful, Cabello is not particularly popular, and he is not likely to be a suitable replacement for Chavez in October.
The most believable political alternative to Chavez may actually come from the Venezuelan opposition. After years of disunity and infighting, the opposition is presenting its most credible challenge to Chavez since he came to office in 1999. Miranda Governor Henrique Capriles Radonski appears most likely to secure the backing of the opposition parties in the Feb. 12 primaries. Capriles has positioned himself as a man of the people, claiming he is the natural heir to Chavismo, but with a pro-business twist.
The most important thing to remember amid all this uncertainty is that the underlying processes driving Venezuela are not as dependent on Chavez as they might appear. The kind of change that truly shifts the nature of a country comes slowly. The attributes of Chavez's regime that are so criticized by opponents -- the networks of corruption, economic inefficiencies and low levels of international investment – are merely contemporary expressions of Venezuela's timeless patterns of patronage and influence.
Even if a prudent leader takes power in Chavez's wake, he will not likely make immediate changes to the system because the risk of destabilization is high. Capriles has made clear that he would make few major changes -- even saying he would maintain the controversial oil shipments to Cuba.
Assuming Chavez is as ill as this week's reports suggest, the next six months will likely be tumultuous. Nonetheless, there remains a good deal of room for compromise among Venezuela's power players, and a power transition over the next year will not necessarily translate to a severe destabilization of the country.

Interesting: just last year we visited Curacao, and absolutely loved that magnetic island practically built by Jews, which harbors the oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. I also bought a book there and read it cover to cover, quite an unusual feat for me, about the history of the Jews of the Caribbean*. The Capriles were prominently featured, a large and prestigious family who migrated around the Caribbean and the northern part of South America. Venezuela, only a boat trip away from Curacao, was a natural choice. A lot of "diaspora" Curacao Jews intermarried with Catholics, though; the book even spoke of "Catholic Jews": what happened is Jewish men who married Catholic women would not convert, while Jewish women who married Catholic men did convert, as this was the Catholic Church's requirements. So we find some very interesting family structures among them.

Wouldn't it be interesting if a Jew, or at least a non-Jew with strong Jewish family ties, were to replace deeply antisemitic Chavez? I am waiting for the day. A Jew can always return to the fold sooner or later.

BOTTOM LINE, AND VERY SAD TO SAY:

It appears to me that Israel's mercenaries, Israel 's "special unit" to deal with the settlers, is bought, paid for, and manned by the U.S. of A., Barak's bravado notwithstanding. That is the conclusion I am drawing from the evidence presented below: the timeline is just too close to be coincidental. Barak's boasting of his "special unit' was made possible by a "special grant" from Obama: how else to interpret the uncanny and tight correlation?

Those cracked skulls; those freezing babies taken away from their warm homes in the freezing rain; the looted jewelry; the abused girls: it appears that we have to directly thank America, and thank Obama, "Israel's best friend" of the "only democracy in the Middle East."

Can you honestly find another explanation? A priori this seems the most logical explanation to me, but it would have to be confirmed of course. Frankly it saddens me to think I might be right, and I would be happy to hear other interpretations. It is clear that Dyncorp is here to assist the PA security forces; but what else are they here for, is the question. Ditto for Triple Canopy: U.S. citizens themselves are asking the same question, they would like to know where their money is going.

I am only mentioning Blackwater as a background, so you will understand the nature of such organizations. Blackwater is NOT involved in Israel. If they were in Israel, they would be on our side, and that is why they will never be hired by Obama to do their dirty work here! Despite being an outspoken critic of private contractors during her 2008 campaign for president, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will soon preside over a private army in Iraq that dwarfs that of the Bush era. Here is a look at the current Obama administration’s security plans for Iraq.
7,000 HIRED GUNS
On August 2, 2010, President Obama announced: “Our commitment in Iraq is changing from a military effort led by our troops to a civilian effort led by our diplomats.” To keep those diplomats safe, however, the State Department plans on doubling — to roughly 7,000 — the number of private security guards and low-paid foreign mercenaries assigned to U.S. personnel and locations.
WORLD’s LARGEST EMBASSY
Approximately the size of Vatican City and costing $592 million, the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad is among the largest and most expensive in the world, even though it was built with cheap, imported labor. A bunkerlike complex of 21 buildings, it spreads over 104 acres and houses 835 employees. Private guards maintain the complex and other facilities in Basra, Erbil, Hillah, Kirkuk, and Tallil.
2,500 ARMORED SUVs and 50 MRAPS
To enable our diplomats and nation-builders to move safely around Iraq, the U.S. Embassy has ordered up a fleet of between 2,500 and 3,200 armored sport utility vehicles at a cost of approximately $150,000 each and has asked the departing U.S. military forces to leave it 50 MRAPs — 28,000- to 42,000-pound trucks built to withstand massive roadside IED explosions.
PRIVATE AIR FORCE
Twenty-five Black Hawk helicopters and a small number of fixed-wing aircraft and air-support crews will also be used to transport embassy staff between locations. Blackwater pioneered the concept of using “Little Birds” with two snipers to protect SUV convoys (and as rescue or escape vehicles). DynCorp International will replace Blackwater in providing this air support.

Logistics and Maintenance Coordinator- Palestine ( PASST) Job Code: 311958 Job Summary: The Logistics and Maintenance Coordinator will provide (OCONUS) operational support, assist, and advise INL and USSC in all matters relating to Logistics enhancement programs in West Bank. Assists with the planning and supervises maintenance training curriculum for the PASF. Conducts follow ups in the West bank after training to develop and improve future training and logistics initiatives. Residents of the outpost of Mitzpe Avichai near Kiryat Arba, who were evicted from their homes in the middle of the night last week, are reporting that the Arab workers who came to clear the rubble that was left of their homes stole jewelry and other valuables.
Rabbi Shimon Ben-Zion, a former member of the Kiryat Arba local council, told Arutz Sheva that residents of the outpost told him that when they returned to the ruins of their homes to take some belongings that survived the demolition, they found that the Arabs had stolen valuables.

He stressed that the thieves were not residents of nearby Arab villages, but rather the employees of the company that had been contracted by the Civil Administration to destroy the outpost.

Witnesses told Rabbi Ben-Zion that they spotted bags on the tractors used during the demolition, which they believe contained the stolen valuables. They added that the more expensive belongings were stolen, while the simpler and inexpensive belongings were left behind.
Meanwhile the Civil Administration, which was responsible for carrying out the demolition, rejected the allegations and told Arutz Sheva that the residents’ claims were investigated and nothing was found that would confirm that any thefts took place.

The Civil Administration noted, however, that the demolition was carried out by a contractor, a fact which limited the Administration’s ability to thoroughly investigate the claims.

Rabbi Ben-Zion rejected the Civil Administration’s response and said that one of the residents told him he had seen the Arab looters stealing heavy equipment from the homes but when they saw they had been spotted, left the heavier equipment and took the smaller items.
Rabbi Ben-Zion added that when the residents began chasing the looters and sought the help of policemen who were on the scene, the officers responded by saying, “Who told you it’s yours?”

Police early Thursday morning evicted five families from the new community (“outpost”) of Yissa Beracha, a new neighborhood of the town of Mitspe Yericho, located between Jerusalem and the Jordan Valley. Police violently removed the families and beat protesters who had come to demonstrate against the eviction. Nine protesters were injured in the police violence.

The operation, for all practical purposes, constituted a classic “invasion” of the neighborhood, with police sealing off the neighborhood for three hours before the eviction, while others blocked off access roads, preventing protesters from reaching the site, and beating with with clubs and sticks when they tried to reach the site. Police said that three officers were injured, after they fell off a roof they had climbed on in order to remove a resident.

Three of the protesters sustained injuries to the head, and were taken to Hadassah Ein-Kerem Hospital for treatment. Protesters said that one woman was injured when she was run down by a security vehicle; another protester who was hit on the head by police was refused medical treatment, witnesses said, with police preventing doctors from treating him until the evictions and demolition of the structures in the neighborhood were finished. Protesters said that, as has been the case in recent outpost demolitions, police used Arab contractors who gleefully ripped down the structures, cursing and laughing at the Jews while they did their work.

MK Michael Ben-Ari said that “the time has come for the national religious public to understand that the government of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is bad for the Jews. The obsessive and ongoing demolition of Jewish homes has reached the levels of the eviction of Jews from their homes in Gush Katif and northern Samaria. Tzvi Yitzchak Cohen told Arutz Sheva in an interview on Thursday about the terrible violence used by police against local residents during the eviction and demolition.
“Yissa Beracha is a new neighborhood which was established about a year and a half ago following the murders of Yitzchak and Talya Imas, Avishai Shindler and Kochava Even Chaim who were murdered in a terror attack near Hevron,” Cohen said. “Until two months ago, when we received notices that we were outside the boundaries of the community, we had no problems.”
Cohen, who lived in a trailer until the wedding, when he and his new wife moved into their permanent home, said, “After the engagement and before the wedding we built the house and entered it immediately after the ceremony. Since then we’ve dedicated more houses and a synagogue in the community, but last night everything was destroyed.”
“They behaved brutally, they sprayed pepper gas at dozens of guys, threw one of them from the roof of a home,” he added. “They used Arabs to remove our belongings and then demolished the houses. They took us out of our home while beating us.”
Cohen said, “They want to break us but they will not succeed. We will build everything again and anyone who can contribute – a blessing will come upon him.”

Thanks to "Anonymous", everything is clear now; without "Anonymous" I would never have read Stratfor's normally restricted articles; a friend far away would not have sent me a link to their temporarily free publication! The article that caught my attention is not the article that was sent to me, incidentally; it was another one, which I included below.

You see, after doing quite a bit of research earlier, I came to the conclusion that NATO and their members, which include the U.S. and Israel ( actually, Israel is not strictly speaking a member, although for all practical purposes it acts as one, totally cooperating with the organization), OFFICIALLY use Arabs to do their dirty work against Israel and the Jews, - which Europe has done for the longest time. You can go back to Tarpat, the massacres of Jews in Jerusalem and Hevron in 1929, and you will find the same thing: Arabs were used to chase the Jews away, murder and kill them, but in the end their bosses benefited just as much. This is institutionalized criminality, but it has been kept under wraps and secret for a long time: you see, those outwardly honorable governments would not want to be caught with their pants down, so to speak: openly declaring that they are using criminal thugs to do their dirty work does not sound too good; this is not something that a self-respecting Western government would want to go around proudly shouting on the rooftops. After all, "Noblesse oblige"; they are so much better than the common dictators they mercilessly destroy and preach to, right?!

But God is great: thanks to a passing remark by one of our friends today, who called those Muslim thugs mercenaries,... and then seeing the title on Stratfor's website: "The Use of Mercenaries in Syria's Crackdown", a light went on in my brain, and everything all of a sudden made sense to me:

Israel and the U.S. are using the exact same methods as Bashar al-Assad! This would explain, very clearly, why all of the sudden the IDF Chief of Staff volunteered to let Bashar al-Assad's men "take refuge" in the Golan: here is a ready-made army of the very same mercenaries they have been using to remove the Jews from Mitzpe Avichai! And they ARE called mercenaries in Syria, without any shame. They even have a name: the Shabiha.

(Here is an INN article excerpt quoting the IDF Chief of Staff speaking on January 10, 2012, - only two days before this article about Syrian mercenaries appeared on Stratfor's website; I find the timing quite remarkable: who informed whom? Who decided this and when? Why now? What is the connection with this Stratfor intelligence information? Who got this intelligence before the article was written?

"...IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz said Tuesday that he expects Syrian President Bashar Assad to lose power and that the IDF is planning to absorb a large influx of Alawite Muslim refugees in the Golan Heights....")

Considering that the IDF intends to soon destroy Migron - see below - in the most cruel manner,

Considering that the government understands that using Jewish IDF soldiers just won't cut it this time,

And considering the special unit that Ehud Barak created a while ago to deal with 'settlers' only , that is us,

It all makes sense now. The special unit is a UNIT OF MERCENARIES, A UNIT OF PLAIN CRIMINAL THUGS, just like Bashar Al-Assad's thugs, only WITH NATO'S BLESSINGS, SUPERVISION, AND COMPLICITY.

What should the response of us Jews be in such a case? I don't have the slightest doubt that our response has to be the strongest so far. We do not have an obligation to submit to those criminals; submitting to POGROMS is not being a good citizen, it is being a fool!

First of all, EXPOSE this story far and wide. The average Jew in Israel doesn't have the faintest idea about the truth. EXPOSE the fact that these so-called legitimate governments are using common criminals and thugs to do their dirty work against us.

Second, EXPOSE the role of the US army on Israeli soil. This "joint exercise" is a sham. There is no joint exercise, as you have seen. What there is is a force of 9,000 heavily trained mercenaries, ready to do NATO's dirty work in Israel - with the willing cooperation of Ehud Barak and of Benny Gantz, who just flew to Brussels today to take his orders from his masters, who follow the orders of Germany, AKA the EU, AKA Rome, AKA AMALEK.

Aren't you going to finally open your eyes, Jews? What are you waiting for? Don't you see what these traitors are preparing for you? Won't you deal with these murderers the way murderers should be dealt with?

And what happened to you, Bibi? You, whose brother gave his life for his people: don't you have an ounce of shame, using criminal mercenaries against your own people? You are going to have to pay a very, very heavy price for your crimes, just as Sharon is paying right now, don't doubt that for an instant.

As for you, U.S. troops, we have you figured out. You can't pretend to be the righteous army you so hypocritically claim to be: you too, here in Israel, are nothing but an army of thugs, ready to pounce like a bull in a china shop, upon orders, against the Jews of Israel.

Better think before you act; otherwise God has a very good plan for you: read Ezekiel, chapters 38 and 39: keep at it and you will all die a miserable death here - and we won't even have to do it to you: GOD will see to it, as Ezekiel prophecized over 2,000 years ago. And whoever joins you in a violent action against us, the Jews of Israel, whom God Himself gave this Land to, will suffer the same horrible fate. So, think very seriously before you act; you have been warned.

The Shabiha: Origin and Expansion

The Shabiha, which means "phantom-like," first appeared in 1976 when the Syrian army entered Lebanon during the Lebanese civil war. The group consisted of young, mostly Alawite men from the coastal Syrian cities of Latakia, Tartus and Banias, which have high concentrations of Alawites. Operating along the Syrian coast and across the Syrian-Lebanese borderland, the Shabiha were mostly involved in the smuggling and sale of stolen goods between Syria and Lebanon, while many also robbed households and warehouses.
The Shabiha grew in number in the 1980s after an unsuccessful 1983 coup attempt by Rifaat al Assad, the brother of late former Syrian President Hafez al Assad. In the wake of the failed coup, Rifaat's Defense Companies, an elite Alawite force of roughly 55,000 soldiers that led the 1982 massacre of Sunni protesters in Hama, and intelligence units loyal to him were dismantled, and Rifaat was stripped of power and later forced into exile. Many of the fighters from the defunct Defense Companies eventually joined the ranks of the Shabiha.
Currently the Shabiha have around 20,000 members, who are paid on average about $40 per day, according to Stratfor sources. Many of the Shabiha the Syrian regime has recruited to deal with the unrest were uneducated, unemployed youths or criminals released from prison on the condition that they would go to extreme lengths to demonstrate their loyalty to the regime, and most work for the regime on a part-time basis while working other menial jobs. However, some have also reportedly made their way into the Sunni business community in Damascus and Aleppo, where they perform a range of bureaucratic functions. Not all Shabiha are involved in security operations; a significant portion is involved in media operations to help the regime disseminate messages that portray the opposition fighting the army as militant jihadists.
According to accounts by opposition activists, journalists and human rights monitors, the Syrian regime will typically bus Shabiha in to the more restive urban areas of the country, such as Homs and Hama, the outskirts of Damascus and Aleppo, and the border cities of Daraa and Talkalakh. Once there, the Shabiha will go door to door assaulting, jailing or killing suspected opposition members -- and their families, in some cases.
Most Shabiha operate in plainclothes, but more recently opposition members have described them as wearing newly manufactured police or black uniforms and carrying what appear to be new AK-47 assault rifles. These reports could not be confirmed, but it would not be surprising if the Syrian regime were investing extra money to formalize the Shabiha as one of its main lines of defense.

Iran and the Syrian Strategy

The al Assad regime's heavy reliance on the Shabiha is not a strategy that appears to have the full endorsement of Syria's main ally, Iran. According to a Stratfor source, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) helped train the Shabiha beginning in mid-March, when the first significant demonstrations broke out in Syria. Unlike Iran, which relied on young Basij militiamen -- who had been strongly indoctrinated in religion and integrated into the formal security apparatus -- to put down the so-called Green Revolution after the 2009 Iranian election controversy, Syria does not have well-trained militiamen at its disposal.
Iranian officials privately describe the Shabiha as unruly and grossly undisciplined. One Stratfor Iranian source labeled the Shabiha's use of violence as misguided and explained how the IRGC unsuccessfully attempted to convey to the Syrian militiamen that violence must be employed strategically so as to suppress and not proliferate unrest. The source's information suggests that the IRGC has concluded that the Shabiha could be doing more damage than good for the al Assad regime. For this reason, the source claims that the IRGC has given up on training the Shabiha and has instead deployed Hezbollah members to work with them and in some cases even defend Shabiha who have more recently become targets of attacks by the rebel Free Syrian Army.
Despite Iran's objections, the Syrian regime is unlikely to lessen its reliance on the Shabiha, primarily because of the sectarian environment in which the regime operates. Alawite officers, who are outnumbered by mostly low-to-mid-ranking Sunni conscript soldiers, dominate the Syrian military. Unwilling to fight against their coreligionists, many of the Sunni conscripts have deserted or defected to the Free Syrian Army. The regime crackdown has therefore been mostly led by all-Alawite forces, including the Republican Guard, Fourth Armored Division, the 14th and 15th Special Forces Divisions, riot police, Military Intelligence, Air Force Intelligence, the General Intelligence Directorate, the National Security Bureau, Baath Party security, the Political Security Directorate and, of course, the Shabiha. The regime has meanwhile been extremely hesitant to deploy more demographically mixed army divisions, which would be more prone to splitting along sectarian lines and undermining the unity of the army overall. The regime's reluctance to fully employ its armed forces means it will continue to rely on mercenaries for reinforcement in the crackdowns.
The heavy use of Shabiha could also help the al Assad regime moderate its rapidly growing dependence on Iran, which has taken advantage of the political crisis to expand the IRGC's presence in Syria. Al Assad's strategy concerning the Shabiha may be far from perfect, but, given the constraints he faces, it is one that appears to be helping the regime hold the line against Syria's still-fractured opposition and maintain cohesion in the army overall.

Top Officer: Migron Expulsion to Resemble Disengagement

The eviction of residents and demolition of Migron will resemble the Disengagement, a senior IDF officer in Central Command told reporters Tuesday.
"This is not another outpost eviction," he said. "Migron is a community. This is an unprecedented eviction compared to everything we have done until now."
The officer further estimated that unlike outpost evictions, the destruction of Migron will not be over in one night. "I think the reaction of the settlers will also be more meaningful," he said. He added: "This step will also hurt the security aspect" – possibly meaning that IDF forces will have to be set aside to deal with Jews, thus compromising the anti-terror effort.
The officer admitted that the press coverage of the Jewish riot at the Ephraim Brigade Base had been disproportional. "The subject received greater attention because of the spotlight that was pointed at the area that night. Events like this have happened in the past."
The officer said that the IDF is worried about the rise in terror attacks on motorists in Judea and Samaria. Both rock attacks and firebomb attacks are increasing, he said.
The technique of throwing rocks from inside a passing car at another car is relatively new, he said. "The phenomenon started last August. There appears to be a cell in Gush Etzion, and another one in Binyamin, that we have not yet put our hands on. The murder of Asher Palmer and his son gave terror groups a boost."
Another dangerous and new terrorist technique, he said, is that of terrorists disguised as Israeli police who put up roadblocks and use a police strobe light to complete the illusion. The purpose seems to be abduction of Jews.

The Obama administration is sending the head of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey to Israel this Thursday to try to change what it sees as Israel’s increasing readiness to attack Iran.
Both Israel and the United States have stated they would not rule out a military strike on Tehran to prevent the Islamic Republic from reaching the capability of attacking Israel, or elsewhere, with a nuclear weapon. However, American officials are worried that Israel is closer to concluding that the “point of no return” is at hand, after which it may be too late to stop Iran.
With 15,000 soldiers, diplomats and contractors in Iraq, Iran’s neighbor, Washington is worried that an Israeli strike would place them in danger, The Wall Street Journal reported. Israel is concerned that Iranian nuclear capability would give it leverage to achieve its dream of dominating the Muslim world and “wiping Israel off the map” in the words of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Dempsey will meet his counterpart in Israel, IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz, as well as Defense Minister Ehud Barak and possibly Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. President Barack Obama telephoned the Prime Minister last Thursday and expressed his “unshakeable” commitment to Israel’s security, but the White House declined to describe the content of the conversation.
The head of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, on his first official visit to Israel, will try to convince Israel that new sanctions on Iran and the deployment of thousands of U.S. soldiers in Kuwait demonstrate its intention to deter Iran. The United States also has sent a second aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf and underscored its vow to prevent Iran from holding the Western world hostage by closing the passage of oil tankers.
The nervousness in Washington is aggravated by its officials not really knowing what are the intentions of Israel. "It's hard to know what's bluster and what's not with the Israelis," a former U.S. official to the Journal.
The Obama administration now is in a position of slapping harsher sanctions on Iran as a response to Israeli threats.
The war of words between Israel and Iran escalated last week following the assassination of a top nuclear scientist in Iran, which accused “the Zionist regime” of carrying out the operation with approval of the United States.
George Mitchell, whose efforts to advance the “peace process” between the Palestinian Authority and Israel were a total failure, has joined the American chorus of advising Israel that it would be unwise to attack Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran claimed last week that an underground nuclear facility now is producing 20 percent enriched uranium, a key ingredient for a nuclear weapon.

Russia: Attack on Tehran is Attack on Moscow

Russia has given Iran its bear hug and warns Israel and the West that an attack on Tehran would be considered an attack on Moscow. The threat heightens the prospect of World War III in the event of a military strike on Iran.

“Iran is our neighbor,” Russia's outgoing ambassador to NATO, Dmitry Rogozin, told reporters in Brussels. “And if Iran is involved in any military action, it’s a direct threat to our security.”

Kremlin Security Council head Nikolai Patrushev accused Israel of provoking the United States towards war against Iran, the Russian Interfax news agency reported Friday. “But at the same time, we believe that any country has the right to have what it needs to feel comfortable, including Iran," he added.

Rogozin warned on Friday that more attacks on Iran could cause "a scorching Arab Summer."

Russia also has come to the defense of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, warning Western nations not to intervene in Syria with military forces. Russia is a major arms supplier to Syria and has a heavy investment in Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Japan also is drifting towards Iran, backtracking from its promise last week to back American sanctions aimed at persuading Iran to halt its unsupervised nuclear development.

Last week’s assassination of an Iranian nuclear scientist has aroused more “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” protest rallies in Iran, where the scientist was buried on Friday.

Iranian state radio said the 32-year-old scientist was involved with enriched uranium, a key ingredient for a nuclear weapon.

"For the first time, I see Iran wobble under the sanctions that have been adopted and especially under the threat of strong sanctions on their central bank," Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu says in an interview published this weekend in The Australian.

He explained, "If these sanctions are coupled with a clear statement from the international community led by the US to act militarily to stop Iran if the sanctions fail, Iran may consider not going through the pain. There's no point in gritting your teeth if you're going to be stopped anyway. In any case, the Iranian economy is showing signs of strain."

The US has warned Iran that by blocking the Strait of Hormuz will be crossing a "red line."

Netanyahu told his interviewer Greg Sheridan that he does not feel Israel is as isolated internationally as some may think. "I just had breakfast with the Indian foreign minister. We talked about great projects of co-operation. It was a very positive conversation. We have similar experiences with China, which we feel has a desire for greater co-operation with Israel. Both countries express a real appreciation for Israeli technology. Israel has become a world power in technology, in agriculture, in medicine, in irrigation, in telecommunications, in IT, in cyber and in many other areas.

"The same thing is happening in Africa. I'm going there soon, but I just had visits from the leaders of Uganda, Kenya and South Sudan. They're concerned with the Islamist tide above them.

"We have excellent relations with many countries of central Europe. They're concerned with the Islamist tide to the south. Canada is like the other Australia, or Australia is like the other Canada, an extraordinary country."

IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz said Tuesday that he expects Syrian President Bashar Assad to lose power and that the IDF is planning to absorb a large influx of Alawite Muslim refugees in the Golan Heights.
The Alawites are a minority in Syria but rule the country under Assad, and a full-scale presence in the Golan Heights would threaten the bare Jewish majority in the area. The Druze comprise almost 50 percent of the Golan population, and a larger non-Jewish population could re-ignite attempts by the United States and other Western countries to pressure Israel to give up the strategic area to Syria in return for a peace treaty.
"The day the Assad regime falls, this is expected to hurt the Alawite sect. We are getting ready to take in Alawite refugees in the Golan Heights,” Lt. Gen. Gantz told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Committee.
The Golan was occupied by Syria until the Six-Day War in 1967, and Israel officially took sovereignty in 1981, although it is not recognized by the international community. Despite the presence of 40,000 Jews and a large industrial complex, including an internationally-acclaimed winery, foreign media usually dateline stories from the area as the “Occupied Golan Heights.”
Several center-left political leaders in Israel, including Likud Knesset Member Dan Meridor, have backed giving up the Golan Heights for a peace pact. The area has large water resources and is eagerly sought by Assad, whose country has the same water shortage problem as does Israel.

Let's try to analyze the various possibilities:

Did the New Israel Fund website make a mistake in its caption?

Did Dorit Beinisch see the check at all?

Was she only the conduit for the check?

Did she accept the check for herself and the NIF?

( I am playing the devil's advocate here, since some people blindly assume that the $20 million went straight into her pockets. So let's assume a best case scenario).

Either way, she was somehow involved in that momentous grant from the Ford Foundation to the NIF, or her picture would not have appeared in this context, with all the specific people mentioned here. One way or another, she KNOWS that the Ford Foundation is funding the NIF and all its subsidiaries, and every time a court case involving one of those said NGO's is taking place, she knows exactly who is buttering that bread, she knows who is watching, she knows who her friends are, and where the money is coming from. She knows that in a court case involving one of those NGO's, one of the litigants is none other than the Ford Foundation; with other words, the CFR, the most important behind-the- scenes political force of the U.S.A., since the Ford Foundation, by definition, is one of the main pillars of the CFR, the Council on Foreign Relations, where the initials sometimes stand for Carnegie- Ford- Rockefeller. Court Ombudsman: Beinisch-NIF-Ford Foundation Meeting Just Fine

Judicial system's ombudsman says there was no ethical problem with Supreme Court President hosting NIF heads.

Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch did not receive a contribution from the Ford Foundation on behalf of the New Israel Fund, Court System Ombudsman Judge (ret.) Eliezer Goldberg determined last week. News site News1 reported that Goldberg based his "findings" on Beinisch's version and nothing else.

The Ombudsman received three complaints in late November, based upon a photograph that appeared in the NIF website. According to the complainants, the text under the photograph said that Beinsich had received $20 million on behalf of the NIF from the Ford Foundation. The photograph was taken on September 17, 2007, on the 15th anniversary of Shatil, the NIF's operational arm.

The picture shows a beaming Beinisch with Susan Berresford, then-President of the Ford Foundation. Behind them, according to MyRightWord's Yisrael Meidad, are Israel Executive Director of the New Israel Fund, Eliezer Yaari; NIF Board VP in Israel Neta Ziv; Ford Foundation Deputy Vice President, Program Management David Chiel; Ford Israel Fund Director Aaron Back; and NIF CEO Larry Garber.

The complainants noted that the NIF website has blocked access to the photograph.

Goldberg called the complaints "baseless" and said there was "no connection between them and the true facts."

Beinisch told him that she regularly meets representatives of different organizations, from all parts of the political spectrum. She said that the NIF asked to coordinate a visit in the Supreme Court for the Ford Foundation's president and that "I met them briefly in the oval room in my bureau… The complaints that I received a $20 million donation on behalf of the New Israel Fund are a false, malicious and baseless libel…"

News1 reports that Goldberg accepted Beinisch's version of events unquestioningly and determined that the picture documented "a short courtesy meeting" and nothing more.

NIF-supported organizations such as the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, Adala, the Women's Lobby and Itach (which is headed by Neta Ziv, among others) regularly petition the High Court and appear before Beinisch as litigants.

Finally:

Here are Dorit Beinisch's friends - the Ford Foundation is mentioned by name ( at 10:19). So please tell me, are the Chassidim right, or wrong, to wear a yellow star as a sign of protest against the rule she enforces?

Even though the video is in Greek, you get a feel for the place; at any rate, the language is so beautiful, it is a pleasure to listen to it, even if you don't understand. I was hesitating to post a video of this nature, but without seeing the images, one wouldn't understand....I only watched a few minutes of it, anyway - I guess you will too.

"Every night besides the town hall of Athens, next to Omonia square, where the narrow streets of the popular entertainment hub district Psirris begin, black girls from Nigeria gather to work.

Dressed provocatively, they approach people who pass by and offer their services. "Come on baby I know you want me", you hear one say playfully with a big smile on her face. Or is it a mask she wears?

The beautiful young Nigerians, between 20 and 25 years old, are victims of trafficking, forced to prostitute themselves for little money.

"Everyone knows that. The young Athenians who gather in Psirris to have fun; the policemen who casually drive through the area to keep an eye on things; the mayor of Athens; most of all the 'customers'," says resident Miltiadis Papathomopoulos, as he stares at the girls, and the people walking by.

Nigerian girls appeared on the steers of Athens during the Olympic Games. They never left. Nobody knew where they came from, and no one particularly wanted to. Until Dina Daskalopoulou, a journalist working on social issues, thought that this could not go on.

"I did it for two reasons," she told IPS, talking of her decision to start investigating the issue. "First, because everybody, citizens and officials, had an attitude that 'these things happen, nobody can stop them'. And then because anyone I talked with insisted that no one can really go out there and tell this story."

Her story, put together after six months work, circulated Mar. 24 in Eleftherotipia, a big national daily. She found that the girls come from Edo region in Nigeria, a place which regularly provides people to global slave labour networks.

The girls are sold for a couple of thousand euros by their families, or they are lured by traffickers with promise of a better life. There are an estimated 50,000 girls from there being sexually exploited around Europe.

Most transit through Italy. They are charged up to 40,000 euros for the trip, and they are then forced into prostitution to pay their debt. Several of the women have said that traffickers, most often Nigerians, use tribal voodoo superstition to persuade the girls that if they escape or speak up, they and their families will suffer."

I visited Greece years ago: a beautiful, clean, gorgeous country, such a delightful place. When I was there there were no prostitutes at all. Only families, clean life - except for a few wretched Moroccans. I remember one Moroccan in particular, his name was Capitano, who was hanging around at the Parthenon. I know because he tried to get me into a conversation. At that time I was young and naive and had no idea who that wretched character was. I found out soon enough: he was wanted by the police for a double rape of Belgian tourists at the Parthenon, and I was lucky he didn't get me!

But the Greeks themselves were peaceful, clean, hard working; just nice, decent people. You never heard of a Greek raping anybody, there was no crime to speak of. I guess that is something the NWO cannot and could not tolerate - specially considering that the Greek Orthodox religion is anathema to Rome, as they don't accept the Vatican's authority.

...I am looking at this video now and I am shocked: devastation, filth, graffitis everywhere, prostitutes, pimps, Arabs in burkas; none of that was there then. It is not welfare for the Greek people that destroyed the country: the Greeks didn't need welfare, they lived a simple but dignified life. THEY are the ones who destroyed the country. It is all those illegal foreigners that Caritas, the Catholic organization, encouraged to come, and diverted there from LIBYA. Libya was a very important station in the scheme, necessary to bring all the destitute and parasitic Africans and Muslims there. Once the damage was done, Libya could - or HAD TO - be destroyed. No use for Libya any more. Greece was already done for. And Italy. And.....

Frankly, I had hoped I wouldn't have to tackle this issue again; it was a tremendous amount of work last time, and created a lot of enemies for me: believe me if I tell you it wasn't fun at all. But unfortunately they are back, and a lot stronger this time, what with martial law in place in so many countries, and with their viruses that they have had time to perfect, while spreading the formula for every criminal to get their hands on. Of course when some terrorist uses that said formula, they will be guilt-free in their own eyes, but we know better.

So now we need to take a very deep look at the situation, and try to understand exactly what they are up to, and frankly I am totally burned out. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that swine flu is back, with 12 cases reported by Friday. The most recent case was a child infected with the H3N2 virus in West Virginia, according to the national U.S. health agency.
So far cases have been reported in five states -- Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Pennyslvania and West Virginia. Eleven of those affected were children, and one was an adult. The man reported that he had direct contact with a pig in the course of his work, but that the animal had appeared "perfectly healthy."
Half of all the reported cases, in fact, had no exposure whatsoever to animals. Three were admitted to hospital. All have since made full recoveries from the virus.
Dr. Joe Bresee, chief of the influenza epidemiology team in the CDC influenza unit, said it is "not yet clear that these viruses have acquired the ability to circulate in humans in a sustained way." No other country has reported any cases of the virus, he said.
Israel's Health Ministry has recommended that every person in the Jewish State older than age six months be innoculated against the flu. Influenza can be quite dangerous, which is why Israeli health professionals are so adamant about their patients and healthy families being innoculated.
Last winter there was a spate of hospitalizations due to complications suffered by patients who had contracted H1N1 strain of swine flu -- and several of them died.
This year's strains to be covered by the vaccine include protection against this particular strain of the swine flu -- they are Types A(H1N1), A(H3N2) and Type B.
According to Dr. Yuval Rabinovich, medical director of the Leumit health maintenance organization (HMO) clinic in the northern Negev resort town of Arad, some cases of the virus had already reached Israel. "We don't usually test for individual strains of a virus, though, unless the case is very severe or cannot be treated by standard means," he told Arutz Sheva in a telephone interview Sunday morning.
Rabinovich also confirmed a statement by CDC physicians that national statistics probably did not reflect the reality in the field. "Usually, influenza travels in the world from east to west, and reaches us here in Israel before arriving in the United States. What happened two years ago in the pandemic was an exception to that rule," he said. "This year's strain of the virus is a more mild form, and because of that it may not be reported as often, so the statistics in the U.S. may only be the tip of the iceberg," Rabinovich said.
He added that as long as one takes the standard precautions -- getting a flu shot, going to the doctor if symptoms appear, following medical instructions and resting until the illness has passed -- this form of the virus is usually not dangerous.

And honestly, listening to their sales pitch I am reminded of a sales course I had attended not long ago, which used exactly the same techniques as the ones promoted in that video, such as "overcoming objections". The naive physicians, who believe they are being taught medicine, are in effect been sold vaccines and brainwashed to becoming good little salesmen themselves, with a subtle subliminal touch of coercion added.

Really despicable: what has become of medicine these days? I do have a transcript of the interview, but for the time being I will not post its full text.

Take this, combine it with the spreading martial law you have been repeatedly alerted to, and we have a potentially deadly combination; deadly lab-created viruses, easily enforced coerced vaccinations...

A decade of billions in spending in the name of homeland security has armed local police departments with military-style equipment and a new commando mentality. But has it gone too far? Andrew Becker and G.W. Schulz of the Center for Investigative Reporting report.

Nestled amid plains so flat the locals joke you can watch your dog run away for miles, Fargo treasures its placid lifestyle, seldom pierced by the mayhem and violence common in other urban communities. North Dakota’s largest city has averaged fewer than two homicides a year since 2005, and there’s not been a single international terrorism prosecution in the last decade.

But that hasn’t stopped authorities in Fargo and its surrounding county from going on an $8 million buying spree to arm police officers with the sort of gear once reserved only for soldiers fighting foreign wars.

Every city squad car is equipped today with a military-style assault rifle, and officers can don Kevlar helmets able to withstand incoming fire from battlefield-grade ammunition. And for that epic confrontation—if it ever occurs—officers can now summon a new $256,643 armored truck, complete with a rotating turret. For now, though, the menacing truck is used mostly for training and appearances at the annual city picnic, where it’s been parked near the children’s bounce house.

“Most people are so fascinated by it, because nothing happens here,” says Carol Archbold, a Fargo resident and criminal justice professor at North Dakota State University. “There’s no terrorism here.”

Like Fargo, thousands of other local police departments nationwide have been amassing stockpiles of military-style equipment in the name of homeland security, aided by more than $34 billion in federal grants since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, a Daily Beast investigation conducted by the Center for Investigative Reporting has found.

The buying spree has transformed local police departments into small, army-like forces, and put intimidating equipment into the hands of civilian officers. And that is raising questions about whether the strategy has gone too far, creating a culture and capability that jeopardizes public safety and civil rights while creating an expensive false sense of security.

“The argument for up-armoring is always based on the least likely of terrorist scenarios,” says Mark Randol, a former terrorism expert at the Congressional Research Service, the nonpartisan research arm of Congress. “Anyone can get a gun and shoot up stuff. No amount of SWAT equipment can stop that.”

Local police bristle at the suggestion that they’ve become “militarized,” arguing the upgrade in firepower and other equipment is necessary to combat criminals with more lethal capabilities. They point to the 1997 Los Angeles-area bank robbers who pinned police for hours with assault weapons, the gun-wielding student who perpetrated the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007, and the terrorists who waged a bloody rampage in Mumbai, India, that left 164 people dead and 300 wounded in 2008.

The new weaponry and battle gear, they insist, helps save lives in the face of such threats. “I don’t see us as militarizing police; I see us as keeping abreast with society,” former Los Angeles Police chief William Bratton says. “And we are a gun-crazy society.”

Adds Fargo Police Lt. Ross Renner, who commands the regional SWAT team: “It’s foolish to not be cognizant of the threats out there, whether it’s New York, Los Angeles, or Fargo. Our residents have the right to be protected. We don’t have everyday threats here when it comes to terrorism, but we are asked to be prepared.”

The skepticism about the Homeland spending spree is less severe for Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and New York, which are presumed to be likelier targets. But questions persist about whether money was handed out elsewhere with any regard for risk assessment or need. And the gap in accounting for the decade-long spending spree is undeniable. The U.S. Homeland Security Department says it doesn’t closely track what’s been bought with its tax dollars or how the equipment is used. State and local governments don’t maintain uniform records either.

To assess the changes in law enforcement for The Daily Beast, the Center for Investigative Reporting conducted interviews and reviewed grant spending records obtained through open records requests in 41 states. The probe found stockpiles of weaponry and military-style protective equipment worthy of a defense contractor’s sales catalog.

In Montgomery County, Texas, the sheriff’s department owns a $300,000 pilotless surveillance drone, like those used to hunt down al Qaeda terrorists in the remote tribal regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan. In Augusta, Maine, with fewer than 20,000 people and where an officer hasn’t died from gunfire in the line of duty in more than 125 years, police bought eight $1,500 tactical vests. Police in Des Moines, Iowa, bought two $180,000 bomb-disarming robots, while an Arizona sheriff is now the proud owner of a surplus Army tank.

The flood of money opened to local police after 9/11, but slowed slightly in recent years. Still, the Department of Homeland Security awarded more than $2 billion in grants to local police in 2011, and President Obama’s 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act contributed an additional half-billion dollars.

Law enforcement officials say the armored vehicles, assault weapons, and combat uniforms used by their officers provide a public safety benefit beyond their advertised capabilities, creating a sort of “shock and awe” experience they hope will encourage suspects to surrender more quickly.

“The only time I hear the complaint of ‘God, you guys look scary’ is if the incident turns out to be nothing,” says West Hartford, Conn., Police Lt. Jeremy Clark, who organizes an annual SWAT competition.

A grainy YouTube video from one of Clark’s recent competitions shows just how far the police transformation has come, displaying officers in battle fatigues, helmets, and multi-pocketed vests storming a hostile scene. One with a pistol strapped to his hip swings a battering ram into a door. A colleague lobs a flash-bang grenade into a field. Another officer, holding a pistol and wearing a rifle strapped to his back, peeks cautiously inside a bus.

The images unfold to the pulsing, ominous soundtrack of a popular videogame, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Though resembling soldiers in a far-flung war zone, the stars of this video are Massachusetts State Police troopers.

The number of SWAT teams participating in Clark’s event doubled to 40 between 2004 and 2009 as Homeland’s police funding swelled. The competition provides real-life scenarios for training, and Clark believes it is essential, because he fears many SWAT teams are falling below the 16 hours of minimum monthly training recommended by the National Tactical Officers Association.

“Luck is not for cops. Luck is for drunks and fools,” Clark said, explaining his devotion to training.

One beneficiary of Homeland’s largesse are military contractors, who have found a new market for their wares and sponsor training events like the one Clark oversees in Connecticut or a similar Urban Shield event held in California.

Special ops supplier Blackhawk Industries, founded by a former Navy SEAL, was among several Urban Shield sponsors this year. Other sponsors for such training peddle wares like ThunderSledge breaching tools for smashing open locked or chained doors, Lenco Armored Vehicles bulletproof box trucks, and KDH Defense Systems’s body armor.

“As criminal organizations are increasingly armed with military-style weapons, law enforcement operations require the same level of field-tested and combat-proven protection used by soldiers and Marines in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other high-risk locations,” boasts an Oshkosh Corp. brochure at a recent police seminar, where the company pitched its “tactical protector vehicle.”

The trend shows no sign of abating. The homeland security market for state and local agencies is projected to reach $19.2 billion by 2014, up from an estimated $15.8 billion in fiscal 2009, according to the Homeland Security Research Corp.

The rise of equipment purchases has paralleled an apparent increase in local SWAT teams, but reliable numbers are hard to come by. The National Tactical Officers Association, which provides training and develops SWAT standards, says it currently has about 1,650 team memberships, up from 1,026 in 2000.

Many of America’s newly armed officers are ex-military veterans from the front lines of Iraq and Afghanistan. Charles Ramsey, who was police chief in Washington, D.C., on 9/11, upgraded the weaponry when he moved to Philadelphia in 2008. Today, some 1,500 Philly beat cops are trained to use AR-15 assault rifles.

“We have a lot of people here, like most departments, who are ex-military,” Ramsey says. “Some people are very much into guns and so forth. So it wasn’t hard to find volunteers.”

Some real-life episodes, however, are sparking a debate about whether all that gear also creates a more militarized mind-set for local police that exceeds their mission or risks public safety.

In one case, dozens of officers in combat-style gear raided a youth rave in Utah as a police helicopter buzzed overhead. An online video shows the battle-ready team wearing masks and brandishing rifles as they holler for the music to be shut off and pin partygoers to the ground.

And Arizona tactical officers this year sprayed the home of ex-Marine Jose Guerena with gunfire as he stood in a hallway with a rifle that he did not fire. He was hit 22 times and died. Police had targeted the man’s older brother in a narcotics-trafficking probe, but nothing illegal was found in the younger Guerena’s home, and no related arrests had been made months after the raid.

In Maryland, officials finally began collecting data on tactical raids after police in 2008 burst into the home of a local mayor and killed his two dogs in a case in which the mayor’s home was used as a dropoff for drug deal. The mayor’s family had nothing to do with criminal activity.

Such episodes and the sheer magnitude of the expenditures over the last decade raise legitimate questions about whether taxpayers have gotten their money’s worth and whether police might have assumed more might and capability than is necessary for civilian forces.

“With local law enforcement, their mission is to solve crimes after they’ve happened, and to ensure that people’s constitutional rights are protected in the process,” says Jesselyn McCurdy, senior legislative counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union. “The military obviously has a mission where they are fighting an enemy. When you use military tactics in the context of law enforcement, the missions don’t match, and that’s when you see trouble with the overmilitarization of police.”

The upgrading of local police nonetheless continues. Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio now claims to operate his own air armada of private pilots—dubbed Operation Desert Sky—to monitor illegal border crossings, and he recently added a full-size surplus Army tank. New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly boasted this fall he had a secret capability to shoot down an airliner if one threatened the city again. And the city of Ogden, Utah, is launching a 54-foot, remote-controlled “crime-fighting blimp” with a powerful surveillance camera.

Back in Fargo, nearby corn and soybean farmer Tim Kozojed supports the local police but questions whether the Homeland grants have been spent wisely. ”I’m very reluctant to get anxious about a terrorist attack in North Dakota,” Kozojed, 31, said. “Why would they bother?”

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. (JTA) – Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak will meet with President Obama on Friday morning, acording to sources.
The meeting will come shortly before President Obama's address Friday afternoon to the biennial conference of the Union for Reform Judaism, which is being held in nearby National Harbor, Md.
In an address Thursday night to the organization, Barak said it’s important not to remove any option from the table when it comes to Iran. Barak also praised Obama for opposing Iran’s quest for nuclear capability and said U.S.-Israel defense cooperation is stronger than ever.
"The unshakable bonds between Israel and America and their respective defense establishments under the guiding hand of President Barack Obama are stronger and deeper than ever and we are very thankful and appreciative of that," he said.
Barak also alluded to the controversy over proposed Knesset bills that critics say would undermine Israeli democracy by targeting certain NGOs and minority groups.
“Homefront peace includes the maintenance of our liberal democracy where the rule of the majority will never be at the expense of the rights of the minority,” Barak said.
“I will stand rock solid against any attempt to curb freedoms or undermine our democracy,” he said. “The only Jewish democratic state in the world must remain exactly that, a Jewish and a democratic state.”
He also said American Jews should not shy away from expressing their opinions about internal Israeli matters. “Your presence and voice is essential to our decision-making. It gives us all one more perspective,” Barak said. “We welcome the debate and highly value your input in our internal debate in Israel.”

Netanyahu: "We Won't Accept Casualties"

Prime Minister Netanyahu played to the cameras at the Ephraim Brigade headquarters, where he took a hard line on "Israeli outlaws."

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barack on Teusday visited the Ephraim Brigade headquarters in Samaria to light the first Hannukah candle this year.
During the visit Barak and Netanyahu were accompanied by Judea and Samaria Battalion commander Shai Avital and Ephraim Brigade commander Colonel Ron Kahane.
The event – staged for the media – comes after last Monday's riot at the base in which angry Jewish youths clashed with soldiers after hearing reports the brigade had been ordered to demolish Jewish in Ramat Gilad during the night - which later proved accurate. According to security officials the youth threw stones and Molotov cocktails at IDF vehicles.
A report in the Hebrew Makor Rishon on Friday, Minister Benny Begin had worked out the deal to avoid the demolitions, but Barak had decided to reject it – and raced to demolish the site.
After last week’s tensions the deal – which would move the disputed structures several dozen meters in exchange for government recognition as a new neighborhood of Karnei Shomron - is reportedly once again in the works.
Before meeting with the brigade’s soldiers for the lighting ceremony Netanyahu was briefed on several incidents in which sector commanders and soldiers have allegedly been attacked by – in the words of senior officers and security officials – “Israeli outlaws.”
Netanyahu told the officers present he was trying to make it easier for them to cope with disturbances in Judea and Samaria and reiterated he approved a series of security protocols targeting nationalist protesters in the region.
He also repeated his now honed mantra, "unless we stop it now, it will spread."
"Even a small spot can stain a white shirt," Netanyahu said. "This was a stain on democracy and the rule of law. But it was also a stain on a great public - the residents here - who are hurt by this lawlessness."
"I am glad to oppose this lawlessness," he added.
Meeting with the soldiers of the brigade Netanyahu said, "we can not accept casualties - not among the IDF, border police, Arabs, or Jews."
A senior official in Samaria who asked to remain anonymous expressed concern over Netanyahu's remarks to Arutz Sheva.
"Netanyahu and Barak are joining the festival of incitement against the entire settlement community, as was done recently by the leftists and the media," he said. "It only makes matters worse."
Netanyahu previously stated he did not believe the riot at the Ephraim Brigade headquarters was representative of the Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria, saying those behind it represented "an extremist fringe."
Community leaders and rabbis in Judea and Samaria broadly condemned the incident calling it "shameful and disgraceful," but some say the residents of Judea and Samaria were not responsible and have nothing to apologize - and are falling into a media trap by doing so.
A delegation of rabbis from the Samaria Rabbinical Council led by Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar last week issued a statement that harming IDF soldiers was "a grave sin." They also called on the government to stop using the IDF - the people's army - to settle domestic political disputes where no national consensus exists.
However, while the incident itself has been almost universally condemned by leaders in Judea and Samaria, there have also been accusations security officials have blown the incident out of proportion for cynical ends.

Stability Mechanism or ESM, reveals that in preparing the terms and conditions of the ESM, Europe may have laid precisely the same Easter Egg that Paulson did with TARP, but failed. Because at its core, the ESM is like a TARP... on steroids. It is a potentially unlimited liquidity conduit (only contingent on how much cash Germany wants to allocate to it - which in turn means how much cash Germany is willing to let the ECB print), with no supervisory checks and balances embedded, and even worse with no explicit or implicit liability clauses - in essence it is a carte blanche for its owners to do as they see fit without any form of regulation. As the following brief but must watch video explains, the ESM "is an organization that can sue us, but is immune from any forms of prosecution and whose managers enjoy the same immunity; there are no independent reviewers and no existing laws apply; governments can not take action against it? Europe's national budgets in the hands of one single unelected intergovernmental organization? Is that the future of Europe? Is that the new EU? A Europe devoid of sovereign democracies?" Ironically even America's feeble and corrupt Congress stopped a version of TARP that demanded far less from the taxpaying citizens. Yet somehow, Europe has completely let this one slip by. Is it simply to continue the illusion of the insolvent Walfare State for a continent habituated by zombifying socialism, or is Europe by now just too afraid and too tired to say anything against its eurocrat class? While European banks may or may not succeed in delaying the inevitable unwind of the Eurozone by a month or two, the European credit catastrophe is taking on a grotesque form, first in Greece, where following news that the budget deficit will soar past an unprecedented 10% of GDP, the Greek government has halted virtually all cash outflows. Ekathimerini reports that "The government has decided to stop tax returns and other obligation payments to enterprises, salary workers and pensioners." In other words, the entire government has now virtually halted one half of its operations - the outlays - as the country reverts even more to its status as European bank debt slave, in perpetuity, or until the country breaks away from the Eurozone and reinstitutes the Drachma (which as Zero Hedge pointed out first in August, continues to trade When Issued at various desks) whichever comes first.

The Finance Ministry is desperately seeking ways to contain the fiscal deficit that has swollen due to additional grants to social security funds totaling 0.5-0.9 percent of GDP and due to the lagging of public revenues in the year’s first 11 months.

Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos and his alternate, Filippos Sachinidis, met on Monday with the other high-level ministry officials and agreed to issue an order to the country’s tax authorities to immediately stop paying tax returns to taxpayers, companies and state suppliers.

They also decided to promote a new regulation at the start of 2012 allowing for old debts to be paid in 60 installments, at a minimum sum of 300 euros each, in an effort to bring more revenues into the state coffers.

Provisional figures for the first 10 days of December showed that public revenues remained at low levels, although a pleasant surprise came in the form of the special property tax paid through electricity bills. This revenue has exceeded expectations, although a share of that will have to be returned owing to errors made in calculating the tax for certain property owners.

As a result we are about to get, you guessed it, another downward growth revision. We have lost count how many there have been in the past year alone.

Under these circumstances, state revenues are expected to lag the
revised target for 2011 by a considerable 1.5 billion euros at least,
while the excess on the expenditure side will be calculated after the
amount granted to the social security funds is established.

In conclusion, even Greece now admits terminal failure:

The only way to reduce the damage done to the 2011 budget by
insufficient revenues is through further cuts to the Public Investment
Program, but even then the deficit will be impossible to bring below 10
percent of GDP.

Sachinidis admitted in Parliament yesterday that
both the government and its creditors have failed in their estimates for
Greece’s macroeconomics this year, saying that this was also down to
the financial program followed.

And while the next depoit update from the Bank of Greece will confirm the domestic bank run is soaring, and the country's financial system is a hollow shell, none of this matters any more: Greece is now officially bankrupt in all but name. At this point the best the banking cartel is to hope to bleed the country dry for a few more months before the people finally revolt at which point all bets are off.

Note: This article was written after a government attempt to destroy the Ramat Gilad neighborhood and the violence that ensued.

It is wrong to throw rocks at IDF soldiers. We must do all that we can to uproot this phenomenon. But the mad witch hunt that has raged this week has nothing to do with concern for and loyalty to the IDF.

Every Friday for years, leftist demonstrators would gather near the Arab village of Bil'ain. They would routinely throw rocks at the soldiers there.

One Border Policeman lost his eye as a result. Other soldiers were seriously injured.

But it did not interest the media. Nobody stuck a microphone into the face of Amos Oz or any other leftist High Priest to ask how those weeds had grown up in their garden. The wife of the Border Policeman who lost his eye didn't get any air time, the general did not pontificate about hatred the likes of which he had never seen, the Chief of Staff did not give interviews, Fuad did not call upon the IDF to shoot Jewish protesters, nobody declared that the anarchists are a terror organization and the Prime Minister did not convene an emergency Knesset committee meeting. None of that at all.

Why not? Because the protesters in Bil'ain come from the same social and ideological milieu as the media. Why create a scandal against themselves? Why make people feel disgust for your own ideology?

In other words, the mad witch hunt raging now in Israel has nothing to do with honesty. The hands holding the microphones are truly not clean, and those who have rushed to condemn the rock throwing at IDF soldiers played into the media's hands and fanned the flames. We are experiencing untamed political incitement under the guise of patriotism.

I am willing to bet that the settlers have a much higher percentage of sons in the army than Israel's broadcasters and they surely are as concerned for their welfare as are the talking heads.

This is the reality of our 14 year olds. What is Israeli society so surprised about?

We must keep in mind that the rock attack on the soldiers took place on the backdrop of the bulldozers on their way to destroy Ramat Gilad, a neighborhood built on private Jewish property, authorized by former PM Sharon as part of a master plan to build 185 housing units there. The agricultural lands in the neighborhood have been worked for 29 years.

No Arab has ever challenged Jewish ownership of the lands. According to the Ottoman law, which still applies today in Judea and Samaria, everything about the neighborhood is strictly kosher. Nevertheless, new bylaws have been put into place, relevant only to Jews to make the neighborhood "illegal". Barak wasted no time and sent in the bulldozers.

It is a crime to throw rocks at soldiers. But it is even worse to destroy Jewish homes in the Land of Israel, to drive families out of their homes and to decimate synagogues.

A small time criminal works against the law. But a big-time criminal works within the law. Usually, he wears a uniform.

The government can quickly enact the legislation necessary to legalize the outposts and to restore the political commissars of the "justice system" to their natural size. If no major crimes will be perpetrated in the name of the law, there won't be any small crimes either, and peace and truth will reign once more.

More on the bill passed by the US Senate last week that would authorize the military to arrest and detain indefinitely any person anywhere in the world, with no charges and no trial with only one military hearing to determine that they suspect that person of being a terrorist, which the bill does not define.

People have characterized this as a "police state." Not precisely. It makes the US a military dictatorship. The military would define "terrorist" and "terrorism." The military would decide who is probably a terrorist and would be the one to conclude that the person is a terrorist in fact. The military would be, not only judge, jury and jailer. It would also be the legislator who defines the crime. If you want to see who Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, thinks might be a terrorist, look at this and this which includes groups opposed to abortion and immigration, as well as returning soldiers from combat overseas. The State Department lists as a foreign terrorist organization at least one organization (Kahane Chai) which is so classified solely for what it has said and not for what it has done.

That is not all. If the President were to call a judge and tell him that the President wants a person convicted, the judge can tell him that he, the judge, is in charge of the trial and does not answer to the President. But the President is Commander in Chief of the military. If he calls a military tribunal and orders it to convict, it is an order from their Commander in Chief.

Sadly, this bill has already been passed in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives with nary a whimper by a 322-96 vote.
Only six Republicans voted No. Like I have pointed out, electing Republicans is not enough. The established leadership of both parties has to be thrown out and the parties reconstituted in the Constitutional mold. No other has ever been agreed upon. It has been distorted and perverted, it is true, but only by stealth, taking advantage of people's ignorance. No other mold has ever been consciously agreed upon.

This measure unites Americans of [almost] all political stripes. It puts the ACLU and the John Birch Society on the same side of the issue. That's pretty impressive. As someone said, this is not a liberal thing or a conservative thing. This is an American thing.

Do Republicans who voted for this bill really trust Obama with that kind of power? Would Democrats who voted for the bill trust George Bush with that power? Do they know who the President will be in five years? Ten years? Thirty years? Why did they enact it?

There is not much time, citizens. Both houses of Congress agree with the thrust of the bill. They only need to conform their two drafts and enact the exact same bill. Pressure has to be brought immediately or America will become a military dictatorship. It will still have a very convincing democratic facade but it will be just that, a facade. Here is something to urge your Congressional representatives to do. And if they won't do it, they are derelict in their duty to defend the Constitution of the United States and their defeat for reelection should be a foregone conclusion. In fact, anyone who voted for this blatantly fascistic measure should be recalled at once...in my onionion, of course.

PM Approves New Security Measures in Judea and Samaria

Prime Minister Netanyahu approved new security measures for dealing with disturbances in Judea and Samaria.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday accepted the recommendations of Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch and Justice Minister Yaakov Neeman for dealing with disturbances in Judea and Samaria.
The ministers formulated the recommendations after meeting with ISA, IDF, Israel Police and State Attorney's Office teams, which were:

The immediate issuing of administrative detention orders against rioters;
Immediately increasing the number of those barred from various areas;
Trying rioters in military courts;
Giving IDF soldiers the authority to detain people; and
Increasing both the number of special ISA, Israel Police, IDF and State Attorney's Office investigation teams and the resources for investigations.

However, Netanyahu rejected the recommendation that 'rioters' be classified as terrorists.
The recommendations come one day after an emergency cabinet meeting was convened to discuss a riot by some 50 angry Jewish youth at the Ephraim Brigade headquarters late Monday, during which the rioters clashed with soldiers and hurled Molotov cocktails and stones at IDF vehicles.
In a separate incident on Monday the commander of the Ephraim Brigade, Col. Ron Kahane, was injured when stones were thrown at his vehicle. Netanyahu vowed to stop violence directed at the IDF.
Prime Minister Netanyahu told reporters, "Those who raise a hand against IDF soldiers or Israel Police personnel will be punished severely. Those who rioted at the IDF Ephraim Brigade base are like those who riot in Bilin."
"It is important to me to emphasize that this is a small group that does not represent the public that lives in Judea and Samaria, who are loyal to the state and its laws and who condemn the rioting," Netanyahu added.
The incident has been overwhelmingly condemned by community leaders and rabbis in Judea and Samaria who described the riot as "shameful and disgraceful."
Also on Wednesday a delegation of Rabbis from Samaria led by Sephardic Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar met with Kahane and his officers to express their solidarity with the IDF. During the meeting they unequivocally stated attacks on IDF personnel were a grave sin proscribed by the Torah.
However, they also criticized Israel's political echelon for using the IDF – the army of the people – to settle internal political disputes.
During 2005 disengagement from Gaza observers predicted that using the IDF to destroy Jewish communities would estrange idealistic young people from the IDF due to shock at seeing soldiers execute orders that destroyed their lives and ran counter to national interests.
Many of the young people became convinced that the peaceful, quiet protests that preceded the disengagement were a tactical mistake, because the government ignored them, although hundreds of thousands of Israelis took to the streets against the disastrous move.
Despite this, youth in Judea and Samaria continue to enlist in the IDF at a disproportionately high rate compared to their peers in other segments of society.

How the Catholic Church Sheltered Nazi War Criminals

SHORTLY AFTER THE END of the Second World War, an Austrian, Franz Stangl wandered into Rome looking for a Catholic prelate. He needed the help of a bishop he thought was named Hudal. After a short walk, the Austrian arrived at the episcopal residence he was seeking. “You must be Franz Stangl” the bishop said, warmly holding out both his hands. “I was expecting you.”
Stangl had been commandant of the Sobibor and Treblinka concentration camps. Wanted for the murder of nearly a million Jews, he was desperately seeking to escape the clutches of Allied forces justice. He had come to the right man. Bishop Alois Hudal (1885-1963) was rector of a college in Rome known as the “Anima,” a seminary for German-speaking priests. He was also a profound sympathizer with National Socialism and dedicated to extending papal charity to Nazi war criminals. After finding Stangl a job at the German College, the bishop eventually supplied him with travel documents, a steamer ticket, and a factory job in Syria. Later, Stangl was extradicted to Brazil, where he would bring his wife and family.
While it would be consoling to suppose this act of benevolence was an isolated incident, in the deliverance of ex-Nazis, SS men, and known criminals, it was repeated hundreds of times by prelates and priests. Their actions were not only known to diplomats in the highest echelons of the Catholic hierarchy, they were morally and financially supported by them—and, horrifyingly, supported by unknowing American Catholics and some of their all-to-knowing leaders.
With so much attention given to the conduct during the Shoah of the Catholic Church, the Vatican, and Pius XII, there has been little attention paid to the social role played by men like Hudal in the immediate aftermath of the war. As it happens, a recently published book by another Austrian, the brilliant young scholar Gerald Steinacher, lays out in powerful detail, how and why the Catholic church, through its personnel, financing, and aid from institutions, committees, and priests, protected Nazi war criminals.
The Catholic priests and prelates who helped spring the Nazis were part of an organization called the Vatican Relief Commission (Pontificia Commissione di Assistenza, or PCA). They supplied invaluable, indeed, crucial aid in sheltering Nazi war criminals, SS men, and ordinary Nazis. Steinacher tells us that the PCA viewed itself as a sort of papal mercy program for National Socialists and Fascists. The most stunning, and well-supported, claim in Steinacher’s book is that enthusiasm for the general mission of the PCA went to the very top of the Vatican hierarchy. “Pope Pius XII supported this aid organization whole-heartedly,”
By far the most influential figure of the National Welfare Conference that supplied the major portion of funds was the redoubtable archbishop of New York, Cardinal Francis Spellman. Spellman was a close confidant of the pope and owed the pontiff for a major boost up the ecclesiastical career ladder. This debt he paid back with munificent contributions to the organization that would free the Pontif’s beloved Germans. Spellman directed the flow of money from the United States into the Vatican coffers.
Among the men aided by Catholic prelates, diplomats, and priests, and supported by papal funding, was not only Stangl but Auschwitz “doctor” Josef Mengele, who was already wanted (according to a contemporary warrant) for “mass murder and other crimes.” Also supported was Adolf Eichmann, the SS lieutenant colonel and the principal organizer of the Holocaust.
Authors Gerald Steinacher and David Cymet emphasize that not only Germans and Austrians were aided by the Catholic organizers of the so-called rat-line. Cymet estimates that some 30,000 Croatian Ustashis and roughly a similar number of Slovak Hlinkas, nominal Catholics, all were hurried along the rat-line with the help of Catholic clerics.
STEINACHER is not much interested in the controversial issues surrounding Pius XII, but Cymet emphatically is. He is also quite angry with Pius’s defenders. Indeed, the title of his book, History vs. Apologetics, says it all. What Pius’s defenders are doing, in Cymet’s view, can be classified as apologetics, in the cruder sense of the word. But Cymet goes much further in his criticism of the untruths and deception expressed in the writings of those who would vindicate Pius XII. Cymet finds it reprehensible, first of all, that Pius, who acted neutrally during the war and never intervened vigorously on behalf of victims of the Shoah, actually sought leniency after the war for Einsatzgruppen and death-camp commanders. According to the private diaries of Muench, who was his personal representative in occupied Germany, Pius sought pardons for Einsatzkommando Otto Ohiendor, a close associate of Hummer. Cymet rightly calls this “one of the saddest chapters of his postwar activities.”
The second issue was Pius’s heartless intransigence in preventing Jewish war orphans, many of whom had been baptized for protection (and many, less nobly, for the purpose of being saved in a religious sense), from being released from Catholic institutions and individuals after the war’s end. In stories that appallingly resemble the heartbreaking case from the 19th century of Edgardo Mortara,* we hear, to our amazement, Pius’s refusing to allow any child who had been baptized to return to his Jewish parents or to parties who “had no right to them”—that is, to Jewish organizations requesting the care of these children.
We are indebted to Steinacher and Cymet for bringing this shameful record to the light of day. As is now painfully obvious, the very top of the Catholic Church, in the postwar years, cared more about the perpetrators of the atrocity than thir countlesss victims. Hardly a priest can be identified in the PCA who was his Jewish Brother’s keeper. For the mortal sins of its priests, for the monstrous evil of which they were guilty in collaborating with Nazi male factors, the church wll bear an ugly blemish, one that no amount of extenuation or special pleading can erase.

But even if you are the most skeptical, unbelieving person in the world, you cannot avoid facing reality. And reality, in Europe, is: SH.T IS HITTING THE FAN. The first European Conference on the New European Policy for Health is being hosted by Israel Monday and Tuesday in Jerusalem, which infuriated the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR).

"By conducting a conference hosted by Israel in the city of Jerusalem, the U.N. agency WHO sends an implicit recognition of Israel's annexation of the city and gives implied legitimization to Israel's illegal actions in Jerusalem over the past decades," the PCHR charged in a statement sent to media.

The conference is "an important milestone in the development of the Health 2020 policy that the European Region plans to endorse formally in September 2012," said the WHO in a statement on its website. "One of the core aims of the new European policy for health -- Health 2020 -- is to promote and strengthen innovative ways of working across sector and agency boundaries for health and wellbeing."

The conference aims to identify ways to establish and consolidate dialogue with critical stakeholders and all levels of government across the spectrum, essential for meeting most of the major public health challenges facing the world today.

The last several years' pandemics, first with bird flu and then with H1N1 influenza, should be enough to convince most officials that regional cooperation is essential in developing a uniform strategy to prevent future tragedy.

But the PCHR instead used the conference as a political soapbox to launch a harangue against the Jewish state, claiming "Judaization" of Jerusalem, human rights abuses of PA Arabs and "destruction of Palestinian heritage sites" in the city.

Among other charges trotted out by the PCHR were the "regime of apartheid" accusation and the "mistreatment of Palestinian by Israeli occupation forces," in addition to the insistence that the WHO cancel its conference in deference to "East Jerusalem as Palestinian territory and the rightful capital of a Palestinian state."

The conference venue, incidentally, was not located in any of the eastern neighborhoods of the Israeli capital.

Come on, now: we know perfectly well what those 'price tag' operations are: Shabak inventions, created for the sole purpose of inflaming public opinion against religious Jews of Yesha, also known as settlers. Dear Clients, Industry Colleagues and Friends of Barnhardt Capital Management,

It is with regret and unflinching moral certainty that I announce that Barnhardt Capital Management has ceased operations. After six years of operating as an independent introducing brokerage, and eight years of employment as a broker before that, I found myself, this morning, for the first time since I was 20 years old, watching the futures and options markets open not as a participant, but as a mere spectator.

The reason for my decision to pull the plug was excruciatingly simple: I could no longer tell my clients that their monies and positions were safe in the futures and options markets – because they are not. And this goes not just for my clients, but for every futures and options account in the United States. The entire system has been utterly destroyed by the MF Global collapse. Given this sad reality, I could not in good conscience take one more step as a commodity broker, soliciting trades that I knew were unsafe or holding funds that I knew to be in jeopardy.

The futures markets are very highly-leveraged and thus require an exceptionally firm base upon which to function. That base was the sacrosanct segregation of customer funds from clearing firm capital, with additional emergency financial backing provided by the exchanges themselves. Up until a few weeks ago, that base existed, and had worked flawlessly. Firms came and went, with some imploding in spectacular fashion. Whenever a firm failure happened, the customer funds were intact and the exchanges would step in to backstop everything and keep customers 100% liquid – even as their clearing firm collapsed and was quickly replaced by another firm within the system.

Everything changed just a few short weeks ago. A firm, led by a crony of the Obama regime, stole all of the non-margined cash held by customers of his firm. Let’s not sugar-coat this or make this crime seem “complex” and “abstract” by drowning ourselves in six-dollar words and uber-technical jargon. Jon Corzine STOLE the customer cash at MF Global. Knowing Jon Corzine, and knowing the abject lawlessness and contempt for humanity of the Marxist Obama regime and its cronies, this is not really a surprise. What was a surprise was the reaction of the exchanges and regulators. Their reaction has been to take a bad situation and make it orders of magnitude worse. Specifically, they froze customers out of their accounts WHILE THE MARKETS CONTINUED TO TRADE, refusing to even allow them to liquidate. This is unfathomable. The risk exposure precedent that has been set is completely intolerable and has destroyed the entire industry paradigm. No informed person can continue to engage these markets, and no moral person can continue to broker or facilitate customer engagement in what is now a massive game of Russian Roulette.

I have learned over the last week that MF Global is almost certainly the mere tip of the iceberg. There is massive industry-wide exposure to European sovereign junk debt. While other firms may not be as heavily leveraged as Corzine had MFG leveraged, and it is now thought that MFG’s leverage may have been in excess of 100:1, they are still suicidally leveraged and will likely stand massive, unmeetable collateral calls in the coming days and weeks as Europe inevitably collapses. I now suspect that the reason the Chicago Mercantile Exchange did not immediately step in to backstop the MFG implosion was because they knew and know that if they backstopped MFG, they would then be expected to backstop all of the other firms in the system when the failures began to cascade – and there simply isn’t that much money in the entire system. In short, the problem is a SYSTEMIC problem, not merely isolated to one firm.

Perhaps the most ominous dynamic that I have yet heard of in regards to this mess is that of the risk of potential CLAWBACK actions. For those who do not know, “clawback” is the process by which a bankruptcy trustee is legally permitted to re-seize assets that left a bankrupt entity in the time period immediately preceding the entity’s collapse. So, using the MF Global customers as an example, any funds that were withdrawn from MFG accounts in the run-up to the collapse, either because of suspicions the customer may have had about MFG from, say, watching the company’s bond yields rise sharply, or from purely organic day-to-day withdrawls, the bankruptcy trustee COULD initiate action to “clawback” those funds. As a hedge broker, this makes my blood run cold. Generally, as the markets move in favor of a hedge position and equity builds in a client’s account, that excess equity is sent back to the customer who then uses that equity to offset cash market transactions OR to pay down a revolving line of credit. Even the possibility that a customer could be penalized and additionally raped AGAIN via a clawback action after already having their customer funds stolen is simply villainous. While there has been no open indication of clawback actions being initiated by the MF Global trustee, I have been told that it is a possibility.

And so, to the very unpleasant crux of the matter. The futures and options markets are no longer viable. It is my recommendation that ALL customers withdraw from all of the markets as soon as possible so that they have the best chance of protecting themselves and their equity. The system is no longer functioning with integrity and is suicidally risk-laden. The rule of law is non-existent, instead replaced with godless, criminal political cronyism.

Remember, derivatives contracts are NOT NECESSARY in the commodities markets. The cash commodity itself is the underlying reality and is not dependent on the futures or options markets. Many people seem to have gotten that backwards over the past decades. From Abel the animal husbandman up until the year 1964, there were no cattle futures contracts at all, and no options contracts until 1984, and yet the cash cattle markets got along just fine.

Finally, I will not, under any circumstance, consider reforming and re-opening Barnhardt Capital Management, or any other iteration of a brokerage business, until Barack Obama has been removed from office AND the government of the United States has been sufficiently reformed and repopulated so as to engender my total and complete confidence in the government, its adherence to and enforcement of the rule of law, and in its competent and just regulatory oversight of any commodities markets that may reform. So long as the government remains criminal, it would serve no purpose whatsoever to attempt to rebuild the futures industry or my firm, because in a lawless environment, the same thievery and fraud would simply happen again, and the criminals would go unpunished, sheltered by the criminal oligarchy.

To my clients, who literally TO THE MAN agreed with my assessment of the situation, and were relieved to be exiting the markets, and many whom I now suspect stayed in the markets as long as they did only out of personal loyalty to me, I can only say thank you for the honor and pleasure of serving you over these last years, with some of my clients having been with me for over twelve years. I will continue to blog at Barnhardt.biz, which will be subtly re-skinned soon, and will continue my cattle marketing consultation business. I will still be here in the office, answering my phones, with the same phone numbers. Alas, my retirement came a few years earlier than I had anticipated, but there was no possible way to continue given the inevitability of the collapse of the global financial markets, the overthrow of our government, and the resulting collapse in the rule of law.

As for me, I can only echo the words of David:

MF Global: Was It A Hit?

Imagine you are Ben Bernanke, or on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve. The time frame is July and August of 2011 and the price of gold is on a tear. Commodities inflation has been persistent and is breaking out everywhere. Your prediction that inflation “is contained” and is a “temporary phenomena” are beginning to look absurd. What do you do?

Simple. Hint that QE3, the primary drive of inflation, is coming and then fail to deliver at the September FOMC meeting. That takes care of the price of gold and the gold stocks. Ah, but those pesky commodities speculators keep making money and trading against what you want the markets to do. So what is to be done there? Hey Jon Corzine, how about you tank the largest broker for the small commodities punters in the world, and we let them twist in the wind? That will serve them right. Teach them to bet against the government approved scenario.

Think it did not happen? Well think again. All of the pieces fit. It sure is convenient that all those commodities speculators are now out of the box. Also, who will want to speculate on commodities in the future given customer funds are no longer protected. Furthermore, commodities speculators are not a very “All American” group. From the authorities point of view they can say: screw them, who will feel sympathy? Hell, James Bullard, Fed Governor, in an interview on CNBC yesterday said the MF Global collapse proves that the system works. Yes it does Jim, for you. Personally, I have $90,000 at MF Global and I would like to have my honestly earned money returned. Unfortunately, the odds of that happening any time soon seem slim. In part because when MF Global entered bankruptcy the judge appointed a Trustee whose law firm has done substantial work for JP Morgan, a deeply interested party. We will probably never find out what happened here. But for those of us whose eyes are open the results speak for themselves.

This whole mess stinks to high heaven. I am with Gerald Celente, if the largest commodity broker in America can go bankrupt and nothing is done, then where can you put your money and expect it to be safe? I, for one, do not accept that Jon Corzine is stupid enough to lever up MF Global 40:1 and use the proceeds and customer money to bet on European sovereign debt. This was a hit, pure and simple. That is why there is no resolution to the problem, and it is just another example of the deeply corrupt US political/financial axis. It may take money away from a bunch of commodities speculators, and it may cool down the perceived inflation, but it is just another hole in the dike which is The US Financial System. A dike whose life can probably now be measured in months, not years.

This deal indeed raises questions, knowing Obama and Clinton's proclivities.... However, remember this, just in case WE are the reason for the armament - best video in a long time.

Notice also Clinton's body language as she explains the reason for the arms build-up in the Gulf, and Iran's place in this scenario: she spews a very bizarre and convoluted sentence which is beneath her intellectual level and doesn't mean much. So, unless she is becoming senile, which I seriously doubt, or is exhausted, which she doesn't appear to be, my conclusion is that she is obfuscating facts, and is getting bogged down by her own misstatements. Notice the averted gaze as she states things that appear unrelated and untrue. She doesn't know what she is saying exactly - I think she is trying really hard not to reveal the true facts - and this weird statement is the result of her conflicting thoughts and emotions. At least that is how I interpret what I see and hear.

Kiryat Motzkin Rabbi Questioned by Police

Rabbi David Druckman of Kiryat Motzkin was questioned by police over a letter he signed more than three years ago. "This is unreal."

Rabbi David Druckman, Chief Rabbi of the city of Kiryat Motzkin north of Haifa, was questioned on Sunday by police about his signing of a rabbis’ letter against employing Arabs.
The letter was written following the 2008 massacre in the Mercaz HaRav yeshiva in Jerusalem, when an Arab terrorist infiltrated the yeshiva and murdered eight Jews.
Rabbi Druckman, who refused to cooperate with the interrogators, told Arutz Sheva that he called on the police to also question former Mossad chief Ephraim Halevy. Halevy recently said that Israel’s hareidi-religious Jews are “a bigger existential threat to Israel than Iran and Ahmadinejad.”
“I told them that as a matter of principle I am not willing to cooperate in the investigation so long as they don’t question Ephraim Halevy for inciting against hareidim and as long as they don’t question those academics who incite against the State of Israel and against the Jews,” Rabbi Druckman said.
He added that the interrogators kept trying to ask him additional questions, but his response was that he is a law-abiding citizen and is convinced that his actions were consistent with the law.
Rabbi Druckman said that he does not know if the police now intend to question all the rabbis who signed the letter, but said that questioning a rabbi for signing a letter is “unreal.”
“Twice daily we hear inciting statements made by public officials and no one does anything about it, but in this case they are still talking about a three-year-old issue,” he said. “This is horrifying, especially if you recall that the letter was signed after a terrible massacre of yeshiva students.”

Y, a citizen of Jerusalem, responded to a leftist on Facebook. Several days later he was arrested by police.

The police recently arrested a citizen of Jerusalem simply for responding to a Facebook status written by an extreme leftist.
The incident occurred this past week when Y (whose full name cannot be revealed for reasons of confidentiality) was surfing on Facebook. He came across a post by extreme leftist Dorit Eldar (a lecturer at Tel Aviv University), who was calling on Israelis to come and protest on Friday against the Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria.
Y told Arutz Sheva that Eldar was complaining in her post that several weeks ago as she and her friends were protesting and blocking the entrance to the Jewish village of Anatot next to Jerusalem, IDF soldiers in the area conducted a “pogrom”, as she put it, against her.
“When I saw this post, I replied to her in a polite manner and told her that it’s inappropriate and illegal to prevent people from entering their home,” Y said.
“Two days later I was in my car,” he continued, “when suddenly I got a call from the police asking me to come for questioning. I said I was on my way, and I never even thought it had anything to do with what I wrote on Facebook. Seconds after I got off the phone with them I was blocked by a police car that stopped me for questioning. They interrogated me for two hours.”
He added, “They asked me what organizations I was a member of. I told them I was a member of Yisrael Sheliand of Im Tirtzu. They found in my car a spray for the wheels and accused me of using it to spray-paint graffiti (of the kind used in so-called "price tag" operations -ed.). They picked me up like a criminal with several illegal Arabs and only let me go home late at night.”
Y said that while he was being interrogated at the police station, detectives came to his home and confiscated his personal computer and cellular phone. He has yet to get them back.
Y, who served in the IDF for three years as every citizen is required by law, said that he does not understand why he was arrested while extreme leftists, such as the one he responded to on Facebook, who speak against IDF soldiers and incite against Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria, are not detained.
“I am deeply hurt that the State of Israel is acting against people who truly love the country,” he said. “It’s a disgrace.”
