Regarding the Pope's visit: some reactions, articles, and comments

1.Received a copy of a heartfelt and forceful letter written to the Chief Rabbis, ( something to emulate!) , by Yonatan David:

To the Honorable Chief Rabbinate and Rabbis of the Rabbanut of the State of Israel,

 

As a simple Jew I would like to express my deep personal sense of anguish at the

Jewish People's apparent loss of self respect, and the awesome Chilul Hashem of

the pope's visit. It appears as though unscrupulous officials have been determined

to sell our heritage and nachala to the very worst of Tzorerei Yisrael over the centuries,

to Edom, "Rome ha rishaa". It is well documented, in spite of the Vatican's efforts

to create a false impression through sophisticated public relations campaigns, that this

pope was himself a Nazi during the WWII and the Holocaust. And here we have the

Jewish state extending every honor to this hater of Israel and lover of our enemies.

Here we have the institutions and facilities of the state of Israel turned over for the

express purpose of glorifying the wicked Church of Rome, responsible for countless

pogroms, persecutions, and, yes, the Holocaust itself. Why send our high school children

on a so-called "March of the Living" when a mockery of everything the Jewish People

stand for is made right here in Eretz haKodesh?

 

I implore you, esteemed rabbis of Israel, take stock of your actions, for the very fate of

all of Am Yisrael rests with you, and upon your heads, that our blood and the blood of

our precious post-Holocaust children not be upon your hands!

 

1) Do NOT honor Rome and the pope!!

 

2) Do NOT grant the slightest foothold to the Vatican upon Admat Kodesh!! Not upon Har Tzion,

and not upon their so-called "holy" places that they stole from us long ago, beginning with the

very destruction of Jerusalem and the Holy Temple!!

 

3) Do NOT conduct yourselves with the faintest hint of hypocrisy and flattery with regard to this matter,

for the Almighty G-d of Israel is watching us!!

 

I have done what I can to restore the sanity of our people, and prevent terrible suffering from befalling

us, here in Israel, and throughout the world, as a result of this shameful Chilul Hashem that endangers

us all, G-d forbid!! Should the State of Israel act as the agent of Wicked Rome, and with the participation,

and LACK OF FIGHT, and LACK OF SERIOUS PROTEST from our rabbis, from the sages entrusted with

guarding our Holy Torah, and the holy souls of our people? That they should, rather, make themselves

available as accomplices to this evil effort to MISSIONIZE our people into the utter SHMAD of avoda zara,

chalila? Is this possible? Am I dreaming? This is a NIGHTMARE!!! The VERY WORST DESECRATION of

the Holy Name of Hashem!!

But [this is what the text intended] to tell you, that whoever lives outside the Land may be regarded as one who worships idols. Similarly it was said in Scripture in [the story of] David, For they have driven me out this day that I should not cleave to the inheritance of the Lord, saying: Go, serve other gods. Now, whoever said to David, 'Serve other gods'? (1Sam 26:19) But [the text intended] to tell you that whoever lives outside the Land may be regarded as one who worships idols"

And today we see, to our great sorrow, that BECAUSE OF THE JEWS WHO PREFERRED THE FLESHPOTS OF EGYPT TO ERETZ YISRAEL, ERETZ YISRAEL TODAY HAS TO COMPROMISE WITH ADOVA ZARA, with the worship of idols .

The chief rabbis have to choose between the lives of the Jews of the Galut, and the officially sanctioned worship of idols in Eretz Yisrael!

IS THIS A SUFFICIENT MOTIVATION FOR THE JEWS OF THE GALUT TO RUSH HOME IMMEDIATELY, SO THEIR VERY PRESENCE IN THE GOLAH WON'T LEAD US TO BE PARTNERS IN AVODA ZARA IN ISRAEL?

TO BE NOTED THAT A PHILANTHROPIST IS PAYING FOR A PORTION OF THE PLANE TICKETS OF JEWS WHO WANT TO COME HERE FOR LAG BAOMER from the US. MAYBE THIS IS THE OCCASION TO JUST PICK UP, AND LEAVE? SO YOU WON'T BE THE CAUSE OF THIS ENORMOUS CHILLUL HASHEM???

Subsidized Plane Tickets for Jewish Pilgrims

(IsraelNN.com) A wealthy American benefactor has subsidized flights to Israel for the Lag B'Omer festival, the anniversary of the passing of the Mishnaic Sage, Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. Starting Friday, dozens of American residents began to arrive on a pilgrimage to Meron, Rabbi Shimon's burial place.

The high price of USD 900 for a ticket from New York to Israel prompted a philanthropist to subsidize the price to Jewish pilgrims for USD 499, LaDaat.net reports.
