Orlev: Media to Blame for Amir Interview
(IsraelNN.com) MK Zevulun Orlev (National Union-NRP) said Thursday night that interviews given by Yigal Amir, assassin of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, "broke the boycott and social ostracism with which he should be punished." Tuesday, November 4th is the 13th secular date of the anniversary of the assassination. Orlev added, "His punishment should be expressed not only by revoking his freedom of movement, but also by totally severing him from society. It is unfortunate that the competition for the golden calf of ratings is disrupting the media's discretion."
Amir was interviewed by two television channels on a cellular phone that he was given for communications with his wife. The Israel Prisons Service is punishing Amir by transferring him to another prison and depriving him of all telephone and visitation privileges.

1.. Application to Justice Souter for an Immediate Injunction to Stay the Presidential Election of November 4, 2008; and
2.. Writ of Certiorari.
Berg stated, "I am hopeful that the U.S. Supreme Court will grant the Injunction pending a review of this case to avoid a Constitutional Crisis by insisting that Obama produce certified documentation that he is or is not a "natural born" citizen and if he cannot produce documentation that Obama be removed from the ballot for President."
Berg's case, Berg vs. Obama was dismissed from the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Docket # 08-cv-4083 for lack of standing. This is a question of who has standing to uphold our Constitution. If I don't have standing, if you don't have standing, if your neighbor doesn't have standing to question the eligibility ofan individual to be President of the United States - the Commander-in-Chief, the most powerful person in the world - then who does?

Police Return to Destroy Federman's Home
(IsraelNN.com) Police returned to the rebuilt farm of Noam Federman late Thursday night and destroyed one rebuilt structure in a violent confrontation with nationalists. Five youth were injured, and police said two of their officers suffered injuries.
Last week the government sent the police to the property, located at Kiryat Arba, and destroyed the Federman family home, smashing windows and beating Federman's wife Elisheva as well as separating her from her baby and children. Youth who are supporting the Federmans have charged the police with using violence. The police said they can file complaints which the police will investigate.

I am sure you are aware of the tragic events that took place this past Sunday morning (actually, in the middle of the night) at the Federman and Tor homes – the smashing of their windows (reminiscent, dare I say it, of an event that took place 75 years ago) and forced entry by Israeli soldiers; the dragging of the startled, shocked children from their beds after being shaken awake; the beating of some children; the families' forceful expulsion from their own homes; and, finally, the crushing destruction of their homes, without them even having the opportunity to take any of their personal possessions! What type of state is it that treats its citizens in such an appalling, sickening fashion!
I am a secular Jew who has supported Israel my entire adult life. This support includes 25 years of volunteer service to my local Jewish Federation (Greater Clifton-Passaic, New Jersey) as a fundraiser, officer, and Board of Trustees and Executive Committee member, as well as numerous financial contributions to the Jewish State through Federation. IT IS OVER! Until the Israeli Government publicly apologizes to the Federman and Tor families and compensates them fully for their loss and suffering, including emotional trauma, and until Mr. Olmert and Mr. Barak are criminally charged for inciting and ordering the above inhuman behavior, I will not give one more cent to the State of Israel. And I will begin to suggest to others, some with substantial resources, to consider ceasing their Federation giving and, instead, contributing directly to specific pro-Jewish Israeli causes.

Dear Readers
I've talked to neighbors, friends, and acquaintances, who say they are going to vote for Obama. The reasons they give sum up to 'he is friendly and he seems one of us.' But some would frown thoughtfully as they said it.
I asked: do you know how his economic plan would affect you? Do you know about his very far left associates? Do you know his political views before he became a candidate? Do you know about ACORN? Answer: not really.
Thanks to the mainstream media, while most Americans can tell you all about Sarah Palin's clothes budget, they don't know much about Obama except in bits and pieces.
It may be late in the game, but one thing is becoming clear. He isn't just an empty suit. Obama does have a point a view. He is, to speak plainly, on the team that unites the Far Left, the Radical Left, Socialists, Marxists, Communists, Black Liberation theologists, Israel haters and resurgent Islamists. They all preach replacement theology, though they have different ideas of the replacement. But they all want to replace how America works and thinks. They want to replace Israel with a state to be called Palestine. With them in power, we Americans will be free to say anything we want -- providing it isn't hateful. And guess who will decide what is hateful?
Obama preaches openness but he hasn't been open about his intentions or his ideology. So we on the Think-Israel staff have composed several essays with information you should have to vote intelligently.

As Election Day rapidly approaches, many Americans are wondering why so many of their countrymen reject a genuine war hero with decades of experience, one whose pro-life, limited-government values pretty much reflect those of Middle America. Instead, these same countrymen are enthralled with a man who not only has no experience or qualifications for the job, but who is, in fact, the most radically left-wing major-party presidential candidate of our lifetime, having been mentored and supported for decades by terrorists (Ayers), communists (Davis), America-hating racists (Wright) and criminals (Rezko).
Doesn't make much sense, does it?
After all, in past presidential contests, Americans have flatly rejected ultraliberal candidates like McGovern, Mondale and Dukakis – and those guys weren't nearly as radicalized as Obama, who the nonpartisan National Journal rates as having the most left-wing voting record in the entire U.S. Senate – even more so than socialist Bernie Sanders! Moreover, recently it's been proven, despite his campaign's denials, that Obama was indeed a member of the socialist "New Party." And Obama himself confesses that during his college days he intentionally sought out Marxists as friends.
So, how do we explain all this? Why are so many of us eager to turn our nation, the greatest and noblest on earth, over to an angry-at-America, hardcore left-wing "change agent" who will – with the help of a like-minded, Democrat-dominated Congress and a liberal-activist federal judiciary – bring about radical "change" to every area of our lives? Just consider:
- Obama is the most pro-abortion presidential candidate in history, having announced publicly: "The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act." This would remove all restrictions on abortion, including partial-birth abortion and parental notification laws, making America the abortion capital of the world. Of course, you know what kind of Supreme Court justices he would nominate, which as I have pointed out previously would end all hope of overturning Roe v. Wade in our lifetimes.
- He's hands-down the most pro-homosexual candidate in history, promising to back virtually the entire radical "gay rights" agenda, including the complete repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act, essentially throwing open the door to gay marriage in all 50 states. And, as he proclaims in his "open letter to the LGBT community": "I have also called for us to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell." That will allow and encourage overt homosexuality throughout the armed forces, something military experts have long maintained will destroy the very fabric of America's armed services.
- Sounds bad for Judeo-Christian values, you say? Dr. James Dobson's influential Focus on the Family organization analyzed issue after issue and predicts – are you ready for this? – "hardship," "persecution" and "suffering" as the fate of Christians if Obama becomes president.

- Obama "would be the most anti-gun president in American history," warns the National Rifle Association, which points out that he has supported a complete ban on handguns, voted to ban most rifle ammunition, and supported increasing the tax on guns by 500 percent.
- Obama would devastate an already deeply troubled U.S. economy. Jacking up taxes, as he promises to do, during the worst financial crisis and credit meltdown since the Great Depression is breathtakingly foolish. No wonder three out of four CEOs of American companies say Obama would be a disaster. Apparently Obama, who constantly badmouths "CEOs" and "corporations," doesn't realize it is these very companies that create over 120 million of America's 140 million jobs (the rest being created by government).
- In order to throttle the troublesome talk radio truth-tellers who caused him so much trouble during the election season, and to reward his cheerleaders in the elite press, Obama will attempt to muzzle conservative talk radio by resurrecting the horrendous "Fairness Doctrine."
- Obama alone will be able to snatch defeat from the jaws of certain victory in Iraq. He is so weak, inexperienced and narcissistic, he will reflexively appease our nation's enemies and thereby encourage the growth of evil the world over. Millions will suffer as a direct result.
Then there's the issue of Obama's truly disturbing past. It seems that no matter how stunning the revelations – some of which are finally emerging, no thanks to a shockingly irresponsible and infantile "mainstream press" – they don't penetrate the public mind. Regardless of the evidence against him, people remain entranced by Obama:
- Amidst ever-growing evidence of vote fraud in multiple states perpetrated by ACORN – the notorious left-wing group with which Obama, despite his public statements, has long and deep ties – the Obama campaign's lawyers are now arguing that the Justice Department should not investigate any vote fraud claims until after the election. Instead, say Obama's attorneys, Justice should investigate those citizens who have brought to light the evidence of voter fraud, for supposedly trying to intimidate poor people into not voting. And no wonder: Thirteen of Obama's own campaign workers in Ohio have confessed to have fraudulently voted in that crucial swing state.
- Despite repeated indignant denials by the candidate and his campaign, Barack Obama was once a Muslim. If you question that fact as just a nasty "Internet rumor," examine for yourself Obama's registration papers to the Catholic school he attended in Indonesia, reproduced here by the Associated Press, which clearly indicate his religion at the time as "Islam." Much more troubling are the radical Islamist ties he maintains today, as respected Islam expert Daniel Pipes documents. Even rabid anti-Semite and leader of the radical Nation of Islam group, Louis Farrakian, says "the Messiah is absolutely speaking" through Obama.
- Which brings us to his most troubling association of all: Obama sat in the church pews for 20 years listening to and absorbing the anti-American, racist, hate-filled sermons of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who claims, among his other lunatic rants, that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks and deliberately created AIDS in order to commit genocide against black people. Wright's rage-filled preaching of "black liberation theology" – an anti-American, anti-White, Marxist philosophy disguised as Christianity – filled Obama's mind and soul for two decades, and they have unquestionably influenced his worldview.
- Sitting at the feet of Jeremiah Wright for two decades and being filled each week with such venom against America and white people can fairly be called a form of brainwashing. If you doubt this statement, try spending 30-60 minutes on YouTube and just listen to random video clips of Wright's "sermons." Then, imagine swallowing this poisonous concoction, in person, every week for 20 years. It would be transformative.
- One can go on and on, it's dizzying: Obama worked closely – for years – with William Ayers, a criminal and domestic terrorist who once bombed the Pentagon and other government buildings; there's absolutely compelling evidence – including independent scientific forensic analysis – showing that Ayers wrote all or part of Obama's best selling book "Dreams from My Father"; Obama received crucial funding and other financial benefits from notorious convicted Chicago criminal Tony Rezko; the Obama campaign refuses to produce a simple birth certificate to dispel persistent claims in multiple lawsuits that question the candidate's constitutional qualifications to be U.S. president – it goes on and on, and yet inexplicably, none of it seems to penetrate the minds of those entranced with Obama.
So again, the question: Why, despite a mountain of evidence utterly proving his profound unworthiness to be president, do so many millions of Americans worship Barack Obama? Let's take a closer look.
The magic of envy
In recent decades, more and more Americans have been conditioned by politicians to depend on government to solve their problems. This is how demagogues have long operated. They demonize "the rich," implying they obtained their wealth by exploiting the downtrodden; they stir up racial hatreds at every opportunity; they endlessly bash business and CEOs as evil exploiters; they promise "social justice" and universal happiness if only we will elevate them to power over us.
They do all this by appealing to anger and envy. They know instinctively that if they can stir up and ignite these dark, addictive passions in all of us, they will create a large voting bloc of people dependent on them, and thus be rewarded with great power. In its purest form, this phenomenon is called Marxism, communism, socialism – the spiritual core of which is raw envy. This philosophy of cradle-to-grave security and "wealth redistribution" exerts a powerfully seductive grip on people who have not discovered true inner "government." As William Penn famously said, "Men must be governed by God or they will be ruled by tyrants."
Communism, of course, is atheistic – where the government is the only true god, the giver of blessings, the solver of problems, the dispenser of justice and mercy. This envy-based, class-warfare-fueled revolutionary system talks always of justice, fairness, progress – but the only progress it delivers is from freedom to slavery.
This is the appeal more and more Americans have been conditioned over the years to respond to, as we have progressively fallen away from the Judeo-Christian values that once animated our culture and institutions. The envy-based system Marx unleashed on the world is alive and well, and in different forms it still dominates large parts of the world. In America, it has taken root in the Democrat Party. Ronald Reagan may have destroyed the "evil empire" of the Soviet Union, but you cannot destroy evil itself. Evil remains, and continues to do its job of tempting and, if possible, corrupting the souls of men.
Even the encouragement of immorality – free sex, abortion, homosexuality, easy divorce and so on – is all part and parcel of the socialist modus operandi, because immoral, dysfunctional people who have crossed the moral line and thus become estranged from God now need the "god" of socialist government.
All of this, my friends, is what we're poised to elect as president in the person of Barack Obama.
This has been coming for quite awhile. Americans, many of us anyway, have become increasingly corrupted over the years. We've been conditioned by our leaders into voting for lying, unprincipled, seductive candidates. We almost elected certified wacko Al Gore as president – someone who seriously wants to outlaw the internal combustion engine. Then we almost elected John Kerry – a super-ambitious, unprincipled and thoroughly unlikable man who first achieved notoriety by betraying his Vietnam soldier colleagues, scandalously maligning them as baby-killers before Congress and the nation.
Now, we're very close to electing an even worse candidate – and the reasons for this tell us much about ourselves.
The power of guilt
If you've ever studied disasters like the explosion of the Challenger Space Shuttle or the sinking of the Titanic, you'll find there was not just one reason, but a whole series of factors that seemingly conspired to cause the catastrophe.
One of the "aiding and abetting" factors in the current election is the fact that Obama is black. Let's talk about race.
Americans – even though slavery and segregation are long gone from the national scene – still have a large and understandable reservoir of collective guilt over its past exploitation and mistreatment of blacks.
Guilt is a fantastically powerful factor in all of our lives. It is a very uncomfortable, nagging pain in our conscience, this thing we call guilt. When we're guilty we try to relieve this inner conflict, and this is often a good thing. If we're guilty toward God, for instance, then we naturally want to make up for that guilt by finding reconciliation and obedience to Him. If we've wronged our neighbor and our conscience bothers us, that guilt is the valuable, redeeming factor that prods us to apologize and make restitution if appropriate. Without being able to experience a guilty conscience, we'd all be amoral psychopaths – literally oblivious to whether or not we had done anything wrong.
However, there's another side to guilt. Manipulative and unprincipled humans soon discover how to use our guilt to get their way. They can even make us feel guilty when we haven't done anything wrong – for instance, by way of false accusation, a tactic the left has perfected.
Now, Barack Obama obviously is not to blame for being black – or more to the point, for how people feel about him because of his race. But the fact is, his being black pushes the guilt button in most of us and we simply see him differently than we would if he were white. (Imagine voting for a white guy with such flimsy credentials and ominous associations.) With white voters in particular, there is a strong urge to finally move beyond our collective guilt over slavery and to prove, once and for all, that we're not a nation beset by racism – by electing a black president.
It's not an exaggeration to call this guilt-induced way of looking at Obama, this conditioned attitude, a type of trance. We hold him to a different standard, we see and feel differently about him, than we would if he were white. We have a kindliness, a desire for his success, a form of love and admiration and well-wishing toward Obama, all based on guilt. But love based on guilt is not real love. It's just an unconscious attempt to rid ourselves of guilt. Shelby Steele, author of "White Guilt: How Blacks and Whites Together Destroyed the Promise of the Civil Rights Era," puts it this way: "[Americans] struggle, above all else, to dissociate themselves from the past sins they are stigmatized with."
Yet this guilt phenomenon is also why craven race-baiters like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton still command media respect as "black leaders." We see them through the "white guilt trance," part of which means we're really afraid of being regarded as racists, so we don't criticize these men for their blatant serial demagoguery. Likewise with Obama, there is a great deal of hesitancy to criticize him out of fear of being thought a racist.
You might respond to this by saying: But I don't have any guilt over slavery or segregation. Fine, but it gets much subtler than that.
Did you ever get angry at your kids – and then find yourself "being nice" to them to make up for the guilt of having been impatient? With that in mind, consider just one of many ways guilt (in this case, racial guilt) can find its way into you: Let's say you're walking down the street and a group of black men are walking toward you, and you become fearful (very similar to the story Obama famously told about his white grandmother). That fear has a little resentment attached to it, for that's the nature of fear. But when you become resentful for any reason at all, you automatically incur guilt, because resentment is a wrong, failing way for mature human beings to respond to the stresses of life. Now, saddled with this new guilt associated with black people, a compulsion rises up from within you to make up for that guilt – which you do by discovering a mysterious affinity for black people that wasn't there before. But that "love" isn't real love – it's all rooted in guilt and resentment (just like when you got impatient with your kids, then suddenly became "nice" to them to compensate for your anger). Although my example here centers on race, this guilt principle is universal. Indeed, guilt-based false love is the basis of the ubiquitous "love-hate relationship" that so vexes the human race; hate easily turns into false love, to make up for the guilt of hating. Do you get it?
It's subtle, but this is exactly the kind of dynamic that leads to self-destructive relationships – from personal relationships to electing tyrants.

A third factor, shaped powerfully by both the secular love of government and the white guilt factor just discussed, is the incomprehensibly unprofessional way the news media have behaved during the 2008 election.
In my estimation, we basically don't have a free press in America any more, other than the "New Media" – that is, talk radio, the Internet and some cable TV. Most of the rest of the establishment media have pretty much committed suicide this year.
Just imagine that radical activist groups like the ACLU or the strident abortion outfit NARAL decided to start up their own "news organizations," complete with broadcast "anchor people," "reporters" and "correspondents," as well as newspapers and news websites and so on – and with a straight face they called their output "news." Everybody would laugh. Why? Because, while it would have the familiar form of news, it would of course just have the substance of their radical propaganda. No one would take it seriously.
This is exactly what we have in the so-called "mainstream press" today. The New York Times and NBC News, for example, are not true news organizations any more. They've become political and cultural activist organizations pretending to do news. And after having dropped all pretense at fairness this year, everyone knows it. This is why they're more concerned about Joe the plumber's tax bill than about the election being stolen by ACORN – because the elite media have become nothing more nor less than the propaganda ministry and attack dogs for Barack Obama.
Obama, the Manchurian candidate
In the classic 1962 movie thriller "The Manchurian Candidate," a man was programmed by communist handlers, and then emerged into the public arena as a hero, with a largely manufactured history, large parts of which were either obscured or changed. Then he was planted into a position of great influence, having been programmed to usher in tremendous change at the appointed time.
Barack Obama was programmed for years by his atheist, Muslim father, by the communist sex pervert Frank Marshall Davis, by con man Tony Rezko, by domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and others – most of all by black liberation theology screamer Jeremiah Wright. Obama's resume is largely manufactured. There is a total blackout on his college years. His campaign obscures what he did as a "community organizer." All his radical associations are denied or minimized. His miserable legislative record (voting "present" over 100 times to avoid taking a stand), his lack of achievement, his radical views and so on – all have been laundered through the magic of public relations into the near-sacred saga of "The One" who has been sent to serve, and to save, America.
Yet, as I have documented previously, John McCain rendered more genuine service to his country each and every day of those five-and-a-half years he endured in a North Vietnamese prison than Barack Obama has in his entire life.
In "The Manchurian Candidate," several war heroes came back to America from abroad. But one of them harbored a dark agenda, lying in wait, secretly, until it could emerge and transform America.
America has a choice Tuesday between a genuine war hero and a genuine Manchurian candidate.
Choose well.

KFAR SABA -- An Israeli court ordered a Jewish 'dissident', charged with assaulting a police officer, to be held under community arrest and post a bond of $1,145 until the start of her trial, as part of a government crackdown on Jewish settlement in the West Bank.
Kfar Saba Magistrate David Gadol rejected the demand by the police prosecution that Daniella Weiss, former mayor of the Jewish community of Kedumim, be remanded in custody until the end of judicial proceedings. [OUTRAGEOUS in this writer's opinion.EW]
"You have until Oct. 12 to investigate her," Gadol admonished police prosecutor Shir Laufer, who said she would appeal the decision. "After Oct. 12 [the start of the trial], she [Weiss] will be free on bail."
Weiss was arrested outside her home in Kedumim on Oct. 2, following the destruction of the nearby Jewish outpost of Shvut Ami. The police prosecutor's office rushed through an indictment on charges of assaulting a police officer and interfering with the police.
"In the passed few weeks I have noticed that the attitude of the police and the army towards the settlers became much tougher, even brutal," Weiss said. "As far as my arrest was concerned, I noticed a very aggressive approach [on the part of the police]. While I was being interrogated, Samaria Police Commander Albert Ohayun flung open the door and aggressively threatened me. 'Don't worry. It's not just you we are going to take care of. We are going to arrest your husband as well.'"
The arrests of Weiss, 62, her 57 year-old former aide Shoshana Shilo and six others, followed the evacuation and destruction by security forces of the two temporary structures at Shvut Ami outpost, established last year by the Land of Israel Faithful group. After the evacuation, police said settlers torched fields near the Palestinian village of Kadum. Police said they saw a car driving away from the blaze, which they then found parked near Weiss's home. According to police, when officers approached the home, Weiss and Shilo came out of the house and attempted to stop police from coming inside. Police then raided the Weiss home and arrested two suspects inside as well as Weiss's husband, Amnon, who was later released.
Shilo, who said she had worked with Weiss for 11 years when Weiss was mayor, said she heard about the destruction of Shvut Ami and came to help.
"They [police] were dragging her [Weiss] on the ground," Shilo said. "They pushed her and pulled off her head covering and pulled up her shirt. I asked for female police officers but they just mocked me."
Weiss said that at least 10 policemen raided her home on Oct. 2 without a search warrant and arrested two suspects.
"They burst into my home, flying passed my daughter who just gave birth two weeks ago and arrested my husband," Weiss said. "I understand that if they had pursued the suspects from the scene, then they could enter my home without a search warrant but this was not the case. They entered illegally."
Weiss said that Samaria Police Chief Detective Gil Desher, who was dressed in civilian clothes, flashed his identification tag in front of her face and asked for permission to search the house when he was interrogating her after her arrest but when she refused, he told her that they had arrested people in her home.
"It's so aggressive," Weiss said. "Last night police raided a Yeshiva high school [Yeshivat Dorshei Yechudecha] in the Jewish community of Yitzhar, known for its dissident community. They came in the middle of the night, turned everything upside down and made 15 year-olds stand with their faces towards the wall."
Over the passed few months, the Israel Army has launched an offensive against Jewish dissidents in the West Bank. Military sources said the army's Central Command has been ordered to dismantle unauthorized Jewish outposts and arrest organizers in the West Bank. The sources said the military has assessed that Jewish opponents of the government would try to accelerate construction and settlement amid the expected departure of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
"They [the police] have a license to act above the law," Weiss said. "The general atmosphere from the government and the ministry of defense is to go ahead with putting an end to the settlers' activities, especially to crush their spirit, especially with the new outposts."

A friend in deed

A few weeks ago, the Associated Press reported that newly released tapes
from US president Lyndon Johnson's White House office showed LBJ's "personal
and often emotional connection to Israel ." The news agency pointed out that
during the Johnson presidency (1963-1969), "the United States became
Israel 's chief diplomatic ally and primary arms supplier."
But the news report does little to reveal the full historical extent of
Johnson's actions on behalf of the Jewish people and the State of Israel.
Most students of the Arab-Israeli conflict can identify Johnson as the
president during the 1967 war. But few know about LBJ's actions to rescue
hundreds of endangered Jews during the Holocaust - actions that could have
thrown him out of Congress and into jail. Indeed, the title of "Righteous
Gentile" is certainly appropriate in the case of the Texan, whose centennial
year is being commemorated this year.
Appropriately enough, the annual Jerusalem Conference announced this week
that it will honor Johnson in February 2009
Historians have revealed that Johnson, while serving as a young congressman
in 1938 and 1939, arranged for visas to be supplied to Jews in Warsaw , and
oversaw the apparently illegal immigration of hundreds of Jews through the
port of Galveston , Texas .
A key resource for uncovering LBJ's pro-Jewish activity is the unpublished
1989 doctoral thesis by University of Texas student Louis Gomolak,
"Prologue: LBJ's Foreign Affairs Background, 1908-1948." Johnson's
activities were confirmed by other historians in interviews with his wife,
family members and political associates.
Research into Johnson's personal history indicates that he inherited his
concern for the Jewish people from his family. His aunt Jessie Johnson
Hatcher, a major influence on LBJ, was a member of the Zionist Organization
of America. According to Gomolak, Aunt Jessie had nurtured LBJ's commitment
to befriending Jews for 50 years. As a young boy, Lyndon watched his
politically active grandfather "Big Sam" and father "Little Sam" seek
clemency for Leo Frank, the Jewish victim of a blood libel in Atlanta . Frank
was lynched by a mob in 1915, and the Ku Klux Klan in Texas threatened to
kill the Johnsons. The Johnsons later told friends that Lyndon's family hid
in their cellar while his father and uncles stood guard with shotguns on
their porch in case of KKK attacks. Johnson's speechwriter later stated,
"Johnson often cited Leo Frank's lynching as the source of his opposition to
both anti-Semitism and isolationism."
Already in 1934 - four years before Chamberlain's Munich sellout to Hitler -
Johnson was keenly alert to the dangers of Nazism and presented a book of
essays, Nazism: An Assault on Civilization, to the 21-year-old woman he was
courting, Claudia Taylor - later known as "Lady Bird" Johnson. It was an
incredible engagement present.
FIVE DAYS after taking office in 1937, LBJ broke with the "Dixiecrats" and
supported an immigration bill that would naturalize illegal aliens, mostly
Jews from Lithuania and Poland . In 1938, Johnson was told of a young
Austrian Jewish musician who was about to be deported from the United
States . With an element of subterfuge, LBJ sent him to the US Consulate in
Havana to obtain a residency permit. Erich Leinsdorf, the world famous
musician and conductor, credited LBJ for saving his live.
That same year, LBJ warned a Jewish friend, Jim Novy, that European Jews
faced annihilation. "Get as many Jewish people as possible out [of Germany
and Poland ]," were Johnson's instructions. Somehow, Johnson provided him
with a pile of signed immigration papers that were used to get 42 Jews out
of Warsaw .
But that wasn't enough. According to historian James M. Smallwood,
Congressman Johnson used legal and sometimes illegal methods to smuggle
"hundreds of Jews into Texas , using Galveston as the entry port. Enough
money could buy false passports and fake visas in Cuba , Mexico and other
Latin American countries.... Johnson smuggled boatloads and planeloads of
Jews into Texas . He hid them in the Texas National Youth Administration...
Johnson saved at least four or five hundred Jews, possibly more."
During World War II Johnson joined Novy at a small Austin gathering to sell
$65,000 in war bonds. According to Gomolak, Novy and Johnson then raised a
very "substantial sum for arms for Jewish underground fighters in
Palestine ." One source cited by the historian reports that "Novy and Johnson
had been secretly shipping heavy crates labeled 'Texas Grapefruit' - but
containing arms - to Jewish underground 'freedom fighters' in Palestine."
ON JUNE 4, 1945, Johnson visited Dachau . According to Smallwood, Lady Bird
later recalled that when her husband returned home, "he was still shaken,
stunned, terrorized and bursting with an overpowering revulsion and
incredulous horror at what he had seen."
A decade later while serving in the Senate, Johnson blocked the Eisenhower
administration's attempts to apply sanctions against Israel following the
1956 Sinai Campaign. "The indefatigable Johnson had never ceased pressure on
the administration," wrote I.L. "Si" Kenen, the head of AIPAC at the time.
As Senate majority leader, Johnson consistently blocked the anti-Israel
initiatives of his fellow Democrat, William Fulbright, the chairman of the
Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Among Johnson's closest advisers during
this period were several strong pro-Israel advocates, including Benjamin
Cohen (who 30 years earlier was the liaison between Supreme Court justice
Louis Brandeis and Chaim Weizmann) and Abe Fortas, the legendary Washington
"insider."
Johnson's concern for the Jewish people continued through his presidency.
Soon after taking office in the aftermath of John F. Kennedy's assassination
in 1963, Johnson told an Israeli diplomat, "You have lost a very great
friend, but you have found a better one."
Just one month after succeeding Kennedy, LBJ attended the December 1963
dedication of the Agudas Achim Synagogue in Austin . Novy opened the ceremony
by saying to Johnson, "We can't thank him enough for all those Jews he got
out of Germany during the days of Hitler."
Lady Bird would later describe the day, according to Gomolak: "Person after
person plucked at my sleeve and said, 'I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't
for him. He helped me get out.'" Lady Bird elaborated, "Jews had been woven
into the warp and woof of all [Lyndon's] years."
THE PRELUDE to the 1967 war was a terrifying period for Israel , with the US
State Department led by the historically unfriendly Dean Rusk urging an
evenhanded policy despite Arab threats and acts of aggression. Johnson held
no such illusions. After the war he placed the blame firmly on Egypt : "If a
single act of folly was more responsible for this explosion than any other,
it was the arbitrary and dangerous announced decision [by Egypt ] that the
Strait of Tiran would be closed [to Israeli ships and Israeli-bound cargo]."
Kennedy was the first president to approve the sale of defensive US weapons
to Israel , specifically Hawk anti-aircraft missiles. But Johnson approved

freeze on sales to Israel . Yehuda Avner recently described on these pages
prime minister Levi Eshkol's successful appeal for these weapons on a visit
to the LBJ ranch.
Israel won the 1967 war, and Johnson worked to make sure it also won the
peace. "I sure as hell want to be careful and not run out on little Israel,"
Johnson said in a March 1968 conversation with his ambassador to the United
Nations, Arthur Goldberg, according to White House tapes recently released.
Soon after the 1967 war, Soviet premier Aleksei Kosygin asked Johnson at the
Glassboro Summit why the US supported Israel when there were 80 million
Arabs and only three million Israelis. "Because it is right," responded the
straight-shooting Texan.
The crafting of UN Resolution 242 in November 1967 was done under Johnson's
scrutiny. The call for "secure and recognized boundaries" was critical. The
American and British drafters of the resolution opposed Israel returning all
the territories captured in the war. In September 1968, Johnson explained,
"We are not the ones to say where other nations should draw lines between
them that will assure each the greatest security. It is clear, however, that
a return to the situation of 4 June 1967 will not bring peace. There must be
secure and there must be recognized borders. Some such lines must be agreed
to by the neighbors involved."
Goldberg later noted, "Resolution 242 in no way refers to Jerusalem , and
this omission was deliberate." This historic diplomacy was conducted under
Johnson's stewardship, as Goldberg related in oral history to the Johnson
Library. "I must say for Johnson," Goldberg stated. "He gave me great
personal support."
Robert David Johnson, a professor of history at Brooklyn College , recently
wrote in The New York Sun, "Johnson's policies stemmed more from personal
concerns - his friendship with leading Zionists, his belief that America had
a moral obligation to bolster Israeli security and his conception of Israel
as a frontier land much like his home state of Texas . His personal concerns
led him to intervene when he felt that the State or Defense departments had
insufficiently appreciated Israel 's diplomatic or military needs."
President Johnson firmly pointed American policy in a pro-Israel direction.
In a historical context, the American emergency airlift to Israel in 1973,
the constant diplomatic support, the economic and military assistance and
the strategic bonds between the two countries can all be credited to the
seeds planted by LBJ.

Settler who threatened IDF apologizes

A settler who apparently made comments calling to kill soldiers distributed an apology letter Monday, saying he was "in a stormy mood" when he made the comments on Sunday.
"I didn't speak generally against IDF soldiers," said Kiryat Arba resident Shmuel Ben Yishai in the letter, having been quoted in the media as saying, "God damn the IDF forces. We wish they would be destroyed by their enemies, that all of them would be Gilad Schalit, that they would all be killed and slaughtered, because that's what they deserve."
In Ben Yishai's letter, he apologized for his words, but said the he "hopes that the Holy One, blessed be he, will avenge those who are involved in evacuation [of settlements]"
The Attorney-General's Office on Sunday, meanwhile, ordered a criminal investigation into the extremist settlers' comments.
The settlers spoke to Army Radio in the aftermath of an IDF evacuation, shortly after midnight, of a small unauthorized outpost tucked into a back corner of the West Bank town of Kiryat Arba.
"This is an army that protects Hamas and Palestine. It is the army that established Palestine, the army that hands over weapons to Palestine, that sacrifices Jewish blood to establish Palestine, and this is what ought to happen," one unnamed settler said.
A second settler said, "We ought to carry out an attack of revenge against the IDF."
Outraged by the comments, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert called for the settlers who made these comments to be punished with the full severity of the law.
"Whoever speaks out against IDF soldiers belongs in jail and in judicial proceedings. We will show no tolerance toward such expressions and actions," said Olmert.
"We are sick of this verbal violence, which either leads to or affects other violence. We know this from the past. In no way will I allow this to continue in the future, and we will see to it that it stops forthwith."
He added that he had instructed Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann and Public Security Minister Avi Dichter to act immediately to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The IDF also weighed in on the matter and asked Shai Nitzan, who heads the Special Tasks Division of the State Attorney's Office, to press charges.
An IDF officer said that the army viewed the comments gravely and was "concerned that without legal action, violence and incitement will continue."
Shortly afterward, Nitzan ordered the police to open a criminal investigation against those settlers who spoke out, on suspicion of incitement to violence.
This is a very serious matter, said Raz Nazri, a senior aide to Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz, in a letter he wrote to Meretz MK Avshalom Vilan.
These statements, Nazri wrote, "crossed a red line and could not be considered to be protected by the principle of freedom of expression, even if this protection is extremely broad."
Nazri told Vilan these statements "were exceptional in their gravity, and therefore we decided to deviate from our usual policy and order police to open a criminal investigation against those who made them."
Judea and Samaria Police spokesman Ch.-Supt. Danny Poleg told The Jerusalem Post, "It's too early to talk about arrests. The journalists who interviewed the settlers know who the suspects are, but they enjoy journalistic immunity. The comments are on the Internet, and the question of who made them is not a state secret. It's a matter of time before we apprehend the right person."
While there were some angry settlers in Hebron and Kiryat Arba who agreed with the statements, the settler leadership was quick to denounce them.
Those who spoke on the radio are "hooligans who do not represent Kiryat Arba and the settlements in Judea and Samaria," said Dani Dayan, who heads the Council of Jewish Communities of Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip. "We condemn them without reservation."
But, he said, there was also "no justification" for the way the army entered two family homes located at the outpost and destroyed them in the middle of the night.
Orit Struck, a spokeswoman for the Hebron Jewish community, attacked the media and the politicians for focusing too much on the comments of a few isolated individuals, when the real crime that occurred was the destruction of the two homes.
"The real serious action is what the IDF did, and not the statement of some person who does not represent anyone," said Struck.
But a number of parliamentarians from the Left disagreed.
"The extreme Right's horrifying statements against the IDF testify to [their] loss of any connection with reality and the state," said MK Ophir Paz-Pines (Labor).
"We will not allow the extreme Right to dictate reality for the entire nation. These threats will not deter us from acting with determination against all illegal outposts," he said.
"The outposts on the hills of Judea and Samaria are creating a poisonous hotbed for groups of dangerous and uninhibited [people] who are trying to obliterate all human quality from the Jewish people in the State of Israel," MK Rabbi Michael Melchior (Labor) added.
"I support the security forces and call for them to continue their struggle against this wild malignancy sprouting in the hills."

Itzik: Opening Session Seems 17th Knesset's Swan Song
(IsraelNN.com) Knesset speaker Dalia Itzik opened the winter session of the Knesset by saying "The opening session is apparently it's last." She had just been informed by President Shimon Peres, during a meeting also attended by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Opposition Leader Binyamin Netanyahu, that he could not find a way to assemble a new government.
Itzik said she had prepared three speeches: A festive one to open the session, another one for swearing in a new government, and the statement that she ended up making. She repeated her previous calls for a national unity government, especially because of the world economic crisis. She said, "It's the will of the people, which wants to give the power to govern in place of a fragile administration."
She called on her fellow Members of Knesset not to "let us deteriorate to wild tongue lashing and incitement against each other. Let us not tie the hands of the next Knesse and the next government by starting irresponsible investigations, even if they earn us immediate applause."

PA Special Force Carries Out First Hevron Night Raid
(IsraelNN.com) The newly-deployed Palestinian Authority Special Force in Hevron carried out its first raid in the wee hours of Monday morning and rounded up approximately 20 "fugitives," according to Hevron PA police chief Ramadan Awad.
No specific details as to the identity of the detainees were made available, other than the information that they were "criminals and Hamas loyalists," according to the Associated Press.
The overnight raid was conducted in the nearby town of Samoa by PA police and intelligence units who "smashed down doors," reported the AP.
More to the point, however, is the fact that this is the first time that the U.S.-trained and equipped special force in any city have operated during the night hours, at least to the public's knowledge.
A small initial unit of the Special Force was first deployed in Shechem last May, followed by a larger contingent that was stationed in Jenin in July.
But until now, it has been the IDF that has conducted all the counterterrorism operations in all the PA areas, since even the U.S.-trained PA Special Forces have limited their activities to maintaining law and order and fighting crime, rather than fighting terrorists.
The Hevron contingent of 550 troops was deployed over the weekend, freeing the IDF and Border Police units in the area to carry out other activities, including the demolition of the Federman family home.

On Yom Kippur, the former Nazi, Pope Benedict XVI, announced that he would approve Pope Pius XII as a saint. Pius, the Holocaust Holy See, could have done much to stop the slaughter of the Jews if at one Sunday sermon, he had warned the murderers that they would face an eternity in Hell. But he would no more do that than the popes would have warned their monasteries that enslaving and working to death millions of American Indians was a crime against his God.
His apologists insist that a fascist gun was put to his head during the war, so somehow, he was innocent of the charges of aiding genocide. These same apologists have no answer to the post-war Vatican ratlines, which saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of Nazis by hiding them in Vatican monasteries, providing them with fake passports, and liberating them worldwide. Yes, Pius knew and approved.
Everyone, but one in Israel, objected to Benedict's plans to raise the butcher pope to sainthood. Unfortunately, the one who did not object was Pres. Shimon Peres. He was too busy planning the pope's visit to Israel for that.

The Queen should know, as if her intelligence services hadn't already told her, the Israeli public is well aware that Peres knocked off Rabin. November 4 is fast approaching and two phone calls from Israel this week tells the public's story.
Caller one had just watched Israel's most popular reality show, Big Brother. A favored contestant spelled out Rabin's murder in great detail down to the one bullet too many and the murder of Rabin's bodyguard in his limousine. Another contestant broke down in tears hearing it. "It was your book exactly," the caller excitedly said.
The next caller was just as thrilled by a two page report in Makor Rishon 17/10/08. The paper interviewed Ami Meshulum, whose father Rabbi Uzi Meshulum worked to bring Peres to trial for his role in kidnapping 4500 Yemenite babies and toddlers to America, to die in ghastly atomic experiments in the 1950s when Sir Shimon was head of the Israeli Atomic Energy Commission. Ami, who I had met at age 11, ran to Canada recently because of threats to his life by the secret services, the Shabak. "They showed me a film of them with Adir Zik, warning him to stop the Rabin research. Then they showed me him getting injected with cancer because he wouldn't shut up. That was my message to escape Israel or I'd be next."

Peres to be knighted
Israeli president to be awarded United Kingdom's highest honor, hailed as one of Queen Elizabeth's knights. Official presidential tour of kingdom to include meeting with British premier, address at Oxford University
IQueen Elizabeth II is expected to bestow an unusual honor on President Shimon Peres in a few weeks, and name him a knight in her order.
Peres is to be awarded the title, regarded as the United Kingdom's highest honor, for his contribution to world peace and the relationship between Israel and the UK.
Peres is expected to leave for an official presidential visit in Britain on November 18. When in London, he is slated to meet with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Foreign Secretary David Miliband.
The highlight of Peres' visit will be a speech before both houses of the British Parliament – the House of Lords and the House of Commons.

Efforts to have President Shimon Peres "knighted" during a visit to London next month may have been set back by premature publication of the move, Foreign Ministry sources said Thursday.
Yediot Aharonot, under a headline "Sir Peres," reported Wednesday that Peres was expected to be appointed an honorary knight by Queen Elizabeth II in appreciation of his contribution to peace efforts in the Middle East and to furthering Israeli-British ties. While admitting that the embassy in London was working on the issue, the sources said that revealing these efforts prematurely could lead anti-Israeli forces in Britain to try to scuttle the idea.
Queen: For thy boundless energy in assassinating cruel enemies like Rabin, Sharon and Zeevi, for working tirelessly to divide Jerusalem, and for subjecting a generation of your Sephardic subjects to humanistic atomic experiments, I do proclaim thee, Sir Shimon, Knight of the Royal Bounds.

Dear Senator McCain and Governor Palin
Contrary to what appears, you can turn the state of the economy to your advantage and win.
It is true, of course, that whatever happens to the economy is taken by the voters to be the doing of the incumbent party in office. Rightly or wrongly, the incumbent party takes the credit or the blame. The financial and economic collapse has stampeded voters to Obama's side because President Bush is a Republican and so is Senator McCain. The fact that the Democratic Party is the incumbent in both houses of Congress is not as obvious. So, even though the Congress has an approval rating far worse than the President, the Republican Party's candidates have gotten the blame for the economic collapse.
Nevertheless, you can turn the financial collapse to your advantage and win the twenty percent or more who are still undecided.
Here is a well known economic phenomenon that is being stood on its head in this crisis. When interest rates are lowered, it is natural for investors to increase their investments in the market, in other forms of saving and in real estate. That naturally pushes prices upward and pushes the economy upward. The same is true of government intervention by pumping money into the economy, such as by bailing out failing institutions.
That has not happened in this crisis. The US government has made $750 Billion (BILLION) available in support of the economy. The governments of the European Union have done likewise and the Federal Reserve has lowered interest rates. In addition, oil prices are dropping and commodity prices are falling, which should have the same effect of pushing the economy and the stock market up.
Notwithstanding, the market has not responded. The stock markets continue to fall and people's assets continue to be eroded by prices that continue to fall despite being massively propped up. Why?
I suggest that it is because of a deep lack of confidence on the part of investors in the future of the economy. They see Obama winning and at some level, they fear the change he will bring. People are petrified of an Obama presidency especially when it is coupled with Democratic control of both houses of Congress. They know it means the advent of socialism in big letters. Investors will not invest in a socialist economy and if there is no investment, there will be no jobs. They will hold their money to see what the change brings.
The continuing fall, however, panics people into the camp of "change" – any change. The status quo is not tolerable. So the dynamic is that investors, probably including labor unions who support Obama, fear to invest in an economy controlled by Obama and the Democratic controlled Congress. That pushes the market deeper into recession which panics Main Street into supporting any change blindly.
I suggest that if you can explain to the people on Main Street that the economy is still in decline because investors fear to invest their money and the money Main Street's pension funds and insurance funds in a socialist economy, you will turn the election around and emerge victorious.

0300 Police and para-military border patrol broke into Elisheva and Noam Federman's home without any warning. They smashed the windows in the children's rooms and crawled through on top of the sleeping children.
They beat Noam to the ground and carried him off to jail, injuring three more of his children, and driving the other children, aged 2 years to 17 years out into the rain in their pajamas.
They then took bulldozers and completely destroyed the home together with Noam's holy books, the children's cloths, and their few possessions. The children are currently (still in their pajamas) by me and my other daughter, waiting for news about the rest of the family.

Four years ago, when I had just about completed the lengthy legal and financial vetting process required by the U.S. government to place my then-92-year-old-mother in a nursing home, I was asked to produce her birth certificate as "proof" of her citizenship. While she was born in America, had voted in every election for untold decades, and paid her taxes religiously, that wasn't good enough to qualify my elderly mother –deaf, legally blind, and confined to a wheelchair – to be admitted to the facility I had chosen for her near my home.
Frankly, I didn't think finding my mother's birth certificate was possible, given the fact that she had been born in a farmhouse in Storrs, CT, along with nine of her 10 siblings, to parents who didn't speak English. Despairing that she would never be "qualified" to receive the care she desperately needed, I set about to find the document, which I was sure had vanished in the unreliable record-keeping of 1913.
First I called an official in Hartford, the capitol of Connecticut, who recommended that I call the Storrs record-keeping office.
That took two minutes.
Next I called the Storrs office and was told to call another number.
That took two minutes.
When I called the third number, I explained to the woman who answered the phone that I was "asking something impossible." I gave her my mother's first name and her father's last name.
Within four minutes, she said, "Here it is!" She had found my mother's birth certificate, and it surprised me when I learned my mother's "real" first name and "real" last name had changed significantly as she and her family became Americanized.
When I expressed my amazement, the woman said: "That's nothing...we're routinely asked to find birth certificates from the 1800s, and we do that all the time!"
Total time it took me to find my mother's 1913, born-in-a-farmhouse birth certificate: 10 minutes!
WHERE IS OBAMA'S?
To this date, Barack Obama has refused - or been unable -to produce an authentic birth certificate that attests to the fact he is an American-born citizen. He has had more than the two-years of campaigning for the presidency of the United States to do this, but failed.
Why is this important? Because the Constitution of the United States expressly forbids anyone born on foreign soil to run for the highest office in our land!
You would think that Obama would have volunteered the "proof" of his eligibility within a nanosecond of entering the race. But here we are, less than two weeks away from the election, and Americans still don't know if Obama is an American!
While Obama's camp submitted a supposedly authentic birth certificate to the far-left blog Daily Kos, it was found to have been a photo-shopped version of the birth certificate of his half-sister, who was actually born in Hawaii, as Obama claims he was.
While this glaring omission in Obama's eligibility to become the most powerful man on earth mystified some and rankled others, a few people - clearly alarmed at what they considered a stealth candidate's attempt to dance his way around the Constitution and venture into the realm of criminality- took action.
SLEUTH #1
The first sleuth was lawyer Philip J. Berg, a Democrat from Pennsylvania and an undisguised Hillary fan,
Last August, Berg - a former deputy attorney general of Pennsylvania and one-time candidate for both governor and senator -filed a lawsuit in Federal Court (Berg vs. Obama, Civil Action No. 08-cv-4083) seeking a Declaratory Judgment and an Injunction against Obama, alleging that the first-term Illinois senator did not meet the qualifications to be President of the United States.
Berg's suit was based on Obama's failure to answer satisfactorily the question of where he was born. Was it in Hawaii, Kenya, or Indonesia? Was his legal name Barack Hussein Obama, Barry Soetoro (his stepfather's surname), Barry Obama, Barack Dunham (his maternal grandparents' surname), or Barry Dunham?
Among the other questions Berg raised were the authenticity of the name Obama used on his Illinois Bar Application and his possible allegiance to other countries.

"Voters donated money, goods and services to elect a nominee and were defrauded by Senator Obama's lies and obfuscations," Berg said. "He clearly shows a conscience of guilt by his actions in using the forged birth certificate and the lies he's told to cover his loss of citizenship. We believe he...supported this belief by his actions in hiding his secret, in that he failed to regain his citizenship and used documents to further his position as a natural born citizen...His very acts prove he knew he was no longer a natural born citizen. We believe he knew he was defrauding the country or else why use the forged birth certificate of his half sister?...If the DNC officers and/or leaders had performed one ounce of due diligence, we would not find ourselves in this emergency predicament...from making a person the nominee who has lost their citizenship as a child and failed to even perform the basic steps of regaining citizenship through an oath of allegiance at age eighteen [18] as prescribed by Constitutional laws!"
The net result of Berg's efforts was that, on September 9, both Obama and the Democratic National Committee filed a joint motion for a Protective Order to Stay Discovery pending a decision on the Motion to Dismiss his lawsuit. In other words, to make Berg's lawsuit go away!
Berg said he was "outraged, as this is another attempt to hide the truth from the public; it is obvious that documents do not exist to prove that Obama is qualified to be President." The joint motion, Berg asserted, was a concerted effort to avoid the truth by attempting to delay the judicial process, although legal, by not resolving the issue presented: that is, whether Barack Obama meets the qualifications to be President. He said it is obvious that Obama was born in Kenya and does not meet the qualifications to be President of the United States. Simply stated, Obama "is unable to produce a certified copy of his Birth Certificate from Hawaii because it does not exist."
An e-mail friend of mine, a lawyer, stated: "What has boggled my mind about this case is that Berg simply waited for a court order to compel the production of the birth certificate, when he could just as easily have served a subpoena on the Hawaii County Clerk or County Recorder - or whoever is the custodian of records in Hawaii - to produce the original birth certificate for examination by an expert forensic-document examiner to produce certified copies to the Court, the Plaintiff, and the Defendants, which would have shifted the burden to Obama to quash the subpoena - and if he filed a motion to quash the subpoena to produce his own birth certificate, that would sure as hell tell us that he has a lot to hide."
SLEUTH #2
Also in August, longtime Obama nemesis Andy Martin - a Chicago journalist, lawyer, author of the bestseller, "Obama: The Man Behind The Mask," and executive editor or http://www.contrariancommentary.com/ - filed a suit in the Court of the First Circuit State of Hawaii (08-1-2147-10) against the Republican governor, Linda Lingle, and the director of the Department of Health, Dr. Chiyome Fukino.
Martin's suit alleged that the defendants had refused to provide a copy of the requested, certified copy of the birth certificate of Senator Obama "attested to by the State and not a `certificate' which is posted on a website and which has been debunked as possibly having been altered."
"It is axiomatic," Martin's suit said, "that the birth certificate of a presidential candidate is a document of crucial public concern and significance."
Failing both his petition and an initial "emergency motion," Martin filed his second emergency motion this month (-1-2147-10 BIA) "for an Order to Show Cause (`OSC') directing the defendants...on or before October 22, 2008...at a hearing before this Court why the relief requested by the Plaintiff should not be granted...This lawsuit does not involve complicated or disputed facts."
"Why is Barack Obama obstructing access to his birth records?" Martin asks. "Along with his obstructing access to college records and other essential information about his past? I want to see a certified copy issued by the State of Hawaii, not one issued by the State of Obama... Interestingly, we think we also know now why he has virtually imprisoned his white grandmother and refuses to allow her to appear in public?"
Numerous conservative journalists, talking heads and bloggers have addressed Obama's fitness to be president, questioning his:
* Reed-thin résumé.
* Stunning lack of concrete legislative accomplishments (both in the Illinois legislature and the U.S. Senate).
* Long-time close relationships and associations with Marxists and anti-American militants like Frank Marshall, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Father Michael Phleger, Khalid Rashidi, et al.
* Failure to provide transcripts of his years at Occidental College, Columbia University, and Harvard Law School.
* Failure to provide any more than a one-page "report" from his medical doctor about his health status.
• * Rationale for flip-flopping on every major issue - economic policy, domestic policy, foreign policy, et al - during this campaign.
The sleuthing continues. According to Berg, Martin, and a number of other sources, Obama was really born in the Coast Provincial General Hospital at Mombassa, Kenya at 7.24 PM on August 4, 1961, a birth that was documented by a certificate with an embossed seal that displays the name of the hospital, as well as witness signatures. In addition, if these reports are accurate, his grandmother in Kenya, as well as his brother and sister, claim they were present during Obama's birth in Kenya.
GRAMMY DEAREST
Now - belatedly - that the net is closing in on Obama, and the suspicions, as many have alleged, are that he is a Trojan Horse for Islamic interests, or a Manchurian Candidate, or a total fraud - Obama has seemingly discovered an interest in his ailing grandmother. Yes, that Grammy who he so facilely threw under the bus during the early days of his campaign.
He is now so worried about Grandma Dunham - the woman who raised him but strangely didn't attend his nomination - that he is taking a few days off from his intense campaign to visit this ailing widow.
Or could his strangely-timed trip to Hawaii really be to "clear up" the sticky case of his missing birth certificate?
I live in New York, where it is not uncommon for BIG payoffs to influence people to come up with "the goods." A half-a-million here, a dire threat there, often influence people to do things - like perjure themselves, produce phony documents, et al - that they would never do under less "pressured" circumstances.
If the magic document doesn't appear, it is possible, and entirely legal, that Obama could be removed from the ballots in states that are questioning his eligibility.
According to a recent article in The Daily Herald in Everett, WA, a civil action was filed in Washington State Superior Court against Sam Reed, Secretary of State, demanding that Illinois Sen. Barack Obama be removed from the ballot in Washington unless he can provide verification of his status as a United States citizen. The citizen who filed the suit, Steven Marquis, asked that Reed verify - by looking at "original or certified verifiable official documents" - that Obama is a natural-born citizen of the United States and eligible to serve as president, and that the office do so by Election Day.
Like others investigating the matter, Marquis said that answering the unanswered questions about Obama's citizenship and background would "preclude a constitutional crisis and likely civil unrest" that would arise if information about Obama's ineligibility came to light after the election.
EXPLOSIVE PRESS RELEASE
This week, on October 21, 2008, Mr. Berg released the result of his investigation. In a startling press release, he has announced that "Obama & DNC admit all allegations in Berg v. Obama."
In his release, Berg explained that "by way of failure to timely respond to Requests for Admissions...the DNC `ADMITTED' that Obama is "NOT QUALIFIED" to be President and therefore Obama must immediately withdraw his candidacy for President and the DNC shall substitute a qualified candidate."
Berg stated that he filed Requests for Admissions on September 15, 2008 with a response by way of answer or objection had to be served within thirty [30] days. No response to the Requests for Admissions was served by way of response or objection. Thus, all of the Admissions directed to Obama and the DNC are deemed "ADMITTED." Therefore, Obama must immediately withdraw his candidacy for President.
According to Berg, Obama - by default - admitted to every charge the lawyer made., among them:
1. I was born in Kenya.
2. I am a Kenya "natural born" citizen.
3. My foreign birth was registered in the State of Hawaii.
4. My father, Barrack Hussein Obama, Sr. admitted Paternity of me.
5. My mother gave birth to me in Mombosa, Kenya.
The list includes 56 admissions.
The DNC's admissions, which number 27, include that:
1. They nominated Barack Hussein Obama as the Democratic Nominee for President.
2. Have not vetted Barack Hussein Obama.
3. They did not have a background check performed on Barack Hussein Obama.
4. They did not verify Barack Hussein Obama's eligibility to serve as President of the United States.
5. Barack Hussein Obama was born in Kenya.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW?
Interest in this case is understandably intense. Berg's website has already received over 55 million hits. But predictably, the overwhelmingly liberal media has yet to pick up on this story, as if ignoring a story that has profound implications for our Republic and for the potential of a Constitutional crisis is less important than discussing Sarah Palin's wardrobe.
It's possible that all the states that are working on obtaining Obama's birth certificate will simultaneously remove him from the ballot at one time.
It's also possible that, failing to produce the birth certificate, Obama will voluntarily step aside, leaving a breach through which Hillary will walk.
Meanwhile, as legal challenges proceed at warp speed, and Obama's lawyers scramble to avoid the Scandal of the Century, one thing remains intractably the same: Obama still hasn't produced proof of his U.S. citizenship!

"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy." Audio follows: "I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. "And he's gonna need help. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right." The Pakistanis think Obama would lose Afghanistan - and they believe they can reap the subsequent whirlwind. * Iran. Got nukes? If the Iranians are as far along with their nuclear program as some reports insist, expect a mushroom cloud above an Iranian test range next year. Even without nukes, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would try the new administration's temper in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf. * Israel. In the Middle East, Obama's election would be read as the end of staunch US support for Israel. Backed by Syria and Iran, Hezbollah would provoke another, far-bloodier war with Israel. Lebanon would disintegrate. * Saudi Arabia. Post-9/11 attention to poisonous Saudi proselytizing forced the kingdom to be more discreet in fomenting terrorism and religious hatred abroad. Convinced that Obama will be more "tolerant" toward militant Islam, the Saudis would redouble their funding of bigotry and butchery-for-Allah - in the US, too. * Russia. Got Ukraine? Not for long, slabiye Amerikantsi. Russia's new czar, Vladimir Putin, intends to gobble Ukraine next year, assured that NATO will be divided and the US can be derided. Aided by the treasonous Kiev politico Yulia Timoshenko - a patriot when it suited her ambition, but now a Russian collaborator - the Kremlin is set to reclaim the most important state it still regards as its property. Overall, 2009 may see the starkest repression of freedom since Stalin seized Eastern Europe. * Georgia. Our Georgian allies should dust off their Russian dictionaries. * Venezuela. Hugo Chavez will intensify the rape of his country's hemorrhaging democracy and, despite any drop in oil revenue, he'll do all he can to export his megalomaniacal version of gun-barrel socialism. He'll seek a hug-for-the-cameras meet with President Obama as early as possible. * Bolivia. Chavez client President Evo Morales could order his military to seize control of his country's dissident eastern provinces, whose citizens resist his repression, extortion and semi-literate Leninism. President Obama would do nothing as yet another democracy toppled and bled. * North Korea. North Korea will expect a much more generous deal from the West for annulling its pursuit of nuclear weapons. And it will regard an Obama administration as a green light to cheat. * NATO. The brave young democracies of Central and Eastern Europe will be gravely discouraged, while the appeasers in Western Europe will again have the upper hand. Putin will be allowed to do what he wants. * The Kurds. An Obama administration will abandon our only true allies between Tel Aviv and Tokyo. * Democracy activists. Around the world, regressive regimes will intensify their suppression - and outright murder - of dissidents who risk their lives for freedom and justice. An Obama administration will say all the right things, but do nothing. * Women's rights. If you can't vote in US elections, sister, you're screwed. American journalists who've done everything they can to elect Barack Obama can watch as regimes around the world imprison, torture and murder their foreign colleagues, confident that the US has entered an era of impotence. The crocodile tears in newsrooms will provide drought relief to the entire southeastern US. Sen. John McCain's campaign has allowed a great man to be maligned as a mere successor to George W. Bush. On August 21st, 2008, the MV Iran Deyant, 44,458 dead weight bulk carrier was heading towards the Suez Canal. As it was passing the Horn of Africa, about 80 miles southeast of al-Makalla in Yemen, the ship was surrounded by speedboats filled with members of a gang of Somalian pirates who grab suitable commercial ships and hold them and their cargos and crews for ransom. The captain was defenseless against the 40 pirates armed with AK-47s and rocket-propelled grenades blocking his passage. He had little choice other than to turn his ship over to them. What the pirates were not banking on, however, was that this was no ordinary ship.
The MV Iran Deyanat is owned and operated by the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) - a state-owned company run by the Iranian military that was sanctioned by the U.S. Department of the Treasury on September 10, shortly after the ship's hijacking.
According to the U.S. Government, the company regularly falsifies shipping documents in order to hide the identity of end users, uses generic terms to describe shipments to avoid the attention of shipping authorities, and employs the use of cover entities to circumvent United Nations sanctions to facilitate weapons proliferation for the Iranian Ministry of Defense. The MV Iran Deyanat departed Nanjing, China, July 28, and, according to its manifest, planned to sail to Rotterdam, where it would offload 42,500 tons of iron ore and "industrial products" purchased by an unidentified " German client". The ship has a crew of 29 men, including a Pakistani captain, an Iranian engineer, 13 other Iranians, 3 Indians, 2 Filipinos, and 10 Eastern Europeans, stated to be Albanians.
The MV Iran Deyanat was brought to Eyl, a sleepy fishing village in northeastern Somalia, and was secured by a larger gang of pirates - 50 onboard and 50 onshore. The Somali pirates attempted to inspect the ship's seven cargo containers but the containers were locked. The crew claimed that they did not have the "access codes" and could not open them. Pirates have stated they were unable to open the hold without causing extensive damage to the ship, and threatened to blow it up. The Iranian ship's captain and the engineer were contacted by cell phone and demanded to disclose the actual nature of the mysterious "powdered cargo" but the captain and his officers were very evasive. Initially they said that the cargo contained "crude oil" but then claimed it contained "minerals." Following this initial rebuff, the pirates broke open one of the containers and discovered it to be filled with packets of what they said was "a powdery fine sandy soil" ....
Within a period of three days, those pirates who had boarded the ship and opened the cargo container with its gritty sand-like contents, all developed strange health complications, to include serious skin burns and loss of hair. And within two weeks, sixteen of the pirates subsequently died, either on the ship or on shore.
News about the illness and the toxic cargo quickly reached Garowe, seat of the government for the autonomous region of Puntland. Angered over the wave of piracy and suspicious about the Iranian ship, authorities dispatched a delegation led by Minister of Minerals and Oil Hassan Allore Osman to investigate the situation on September 4. and they witnessed some of the deaths due to exposure to 'something on that ship.'
The Somali pirates initially set the ship's ransom at $2 million and the Iranian government provided $200,000 to a local broker "to facilitate the exchange." The $2 million dollar ransom agreement, which was supposedly secured on September 6th, never took place for reasons unknown. After September 10th, sanctions on IRISL were applied specifically because the company was said to engaged in illicit operations on behalf of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Serious negotiations were broken off completely. Iranian authorities subsequently denied that it agreed to the price nor had paid any money to the pirates. Nevertheless, after sanctions were applied to IRISL on Sept ember 10, Osman says, the Iranians told the pirates that the deal was off. "They told the pirates that they could not come because of the presence of the U.S. Navy." The region is patrolled by the multinational Combined Taskforce 150, which includes ships from the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet. Subsequently, it was disclosed that the U.S. government had offered to pay $7 million to the pirates to "receive entry permission and search the vessel." Officials in the Pentagon and the Department of State have consistently refused to comment on the situation.
The exact nature of the cargo remains officially a mystery but officials in Puntland and Baidoa are convinced the ship was carrying weapons to Eritrea for Islamist insurgents. "We cannot inspect the cargo yet," Osman said, "but we are sure that it is weapons."
The US Navy (and the French and the Russians) have been hove to off the coast of Eyl, going anywhere once released, it will be seized once it gets to sea. The specific clauses that have been approved in both the UN and in Congress would allow the US Navy to seize the ship under the suspicion clause. The claims that there are weapons onboard, and the possibility there might be chemical weapons, has insured there is at the very minimum, an inspection of the ship by outside authority will be mandated. At this writing, the MV Iran Deyanat is at anchor, watched closely by American, French and Russian naval un its.
Although American intelligence and government sources are maintaining a strictly observed silence, the same does not apply to the Russians and so it is that we learn the real story of the MV Iran Deyanat. She was an enormous floating dirty bomb, intended to detonate after exiting the Suez Canal at the eastern end of the Mediterranean and in proximity to the coastal cities of Israel. The entire cargo of radioactive sand, obtained by Iran from China (the latter buys desperately needed oil from the former) and sealed in containers which, when the charges on the ship are set off after the crew took to the boats, will be blasted high into the air where prevailing winds will push the highly dangerous and radioactive cloud ashore.
Given the large number of deaths from the questing Somali pirates, it should be obvious that when the contents of the ship's locked cargo containers finally descended onto the land, the death toll would be enormous. This ship was nothing more nor less than the long-anticipated Iranian attack on Israel. Not the expected rocket attacks (which could be intercepted by the Israelis) but an even more deadly and unexpected attack by sea.. It is very interesting to note that the Israeli government has in the past few weeks, been loudly demanding that the United States establish a naval blockade of Iran.
The reason for this blockade would be to prevent any more Iranian ships with deadly cargos from attacking either Israel or other targets from the sea.

JERUSALEM – Sen. Barack Obama is a Muslim of Kenyan origins who studied in Islamic schools and whose campaign may have been financed by people in the Islamic and African worlds, Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi said during a recent televised national rally.
"There are elections in America now. Along came a black citizen of Kenyan African origins, a Muslim, who had studied in an Islamic school in Indonesia. His name is Obama," said Gadhafi in little-noticed remarks he made at a rally marking the anniversary of the 1986 U.S. air raid on his country.
The remarks, translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute, MEMRI, were aired on Al Jazeera in June.

"All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man," continued Gadhafi. "They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency.
"We are hoping that this black man will take pride in his African and Islamic identity, and in his faith, and that [he will know] that he has rights in America, and that he will change America from evil to good, and that America will establish relations that will serve it well with other peoples, especially the Arabs," Gadhafi said.

Gadhafi went on to lament statements Obama made at a June 4 address to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee in which the presidential candidate stated if he is elected president, "Jerusalem would remain the capital of Israel and it must remain undivided."
But it seems Gadhafi was not aware that the next day, during a CNN appearance, Obama explained he meant Jerusalem shouldn't be physically divided with a partition and was not referring to the city remaining in exclusively Jewish hands.
Stated Gadhafi: "But we were taken by surprise when our African Kenyan brother [Obama], who is an American national, made statements (about Jerusalem) that shocked all his supporters in the Arab world, in Africa, and in the Islamic world.
"We hope that this is merely an elections 'clearance sale,' as they say in Egypt - in other words, merely an elections lie. As you know, this is the farce of elections - a person lies and lies to people, just so that they will vote for him, and afterwards, when they say to him, 'You promised this and that,' he says: 'No, this was just elections propaganda.' This is the farce of democracy for you. He says: 'This was propaganda, and you thought I was being serious. I was fooling you to get your votes.'
"Allah willing, it will turn out that this was merely elections propaganda. Obama said he would turn Jerusalem into the eternal capital of the Israelis. This indicates that our brother Obama is ignorant of international politics, and is not familiar with the Middle East conflict," Gadhafi said.
Gadhafi went on to express his hope if elected Obama will implement a "one state solution" to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, meaning Israel would be flooded with millions of Palestinian Arabs who would terminate the country's Jewish nationality.

He said he was worried Obama may have a "black inferiority complex" whereby he may enact "white men" policies to prove he is no different from "white" America.
"The thing we fear most is that the black man suffers from an inferiority complex. This is dangerous. If our brother Obama feels that because he is black he doesn't have the right to rule America, this would be a disaster, because such a feeling would make him act whiter than the white, and go to an extreme in his persecution and degradation of the blacks.
"We say to him: Brother, the whites and blacks in America are equal. They are all immigrants. America belongs neither to the whites nor to the blacks. America belongs to its original inhabitants, the Indians. Both the whites and the blacks immigrated to America, and so they are equal, and Obama has the right to hold his head high, and say: 'I am a partner in America. This is my land as much as it is yours. If it is not my land, it is not yours either. It is the land of the Indians. You are immigrants, and so are we.'"
Obama was 'quite religious in Islam'
Obama repeatedly has denied he is a Muslim. His campaign site states: "Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised as a Muslim, and is a committed Christian."
But as WND has reported, public records in Indonesia listed Obama as a Muslim during his early years, and a number of childhood friends claimed to the media Obama was once a mosque-attending Muslim.
Obama's campaign several times has wavered in response to reporters queries regarding the senator's childhood faith.
Commenting on a recent Los Angeles Times report quoting a childhood friend stating Obama prayed in a mosque "something the presidential candidate said he never did," Obama's campaign released a statement explaining the senator "has never been a practicing Muslim."
Widely distributed reports have noted that in January 1968, Obama was registered as a Muslim at Jakarta's Roman Catholic Franciscus Assisi Primary School under the name Barry Soetoro. He was listed as an Indonesian citizen whose stepfather, listed on school documents as "L Soetoro Ma," worked for the topography department of the Indonesian Army.
Catholic schools in Indonesia routinely accept non-Catholic students but exempt them from studying religion. Obama's school documents, though, wrongly list him as being Indonesian.
After attending the Assisi Primary School, Obama was enrolled "also as a Muslim, according to documents" in the Besuki Primary School, a public school in Jakarta.
Laotze blog, run by an American expatriate in Southeast Asia who visited the Besuki school, noted: "All Indonesian students are required to study religion at school, and a young 'Barry Soetoro,' being a Muslim, would have been required to study Islam daily in school. He would have been taught to read and write Arabic, to recite his prayers properly, to read and recite from the Quran and to study the laws of Islam."
Indeed, in Obama's autobiography, "Dreams From My Father," he acknowledged studying the Quran and describes the public school as "a Muslim school."
"In the Muslim school, the teacher wrote to tell mother I made faces during Quranic studies," wrote Obama.
The Indonesian media have been flooded with accounts of Obama's childhood Islamic studies, some describing him as a religious Muslim.
Speaking to the country's Kaltim Post, Tine Hahiyary, who was principal of Obama's school while he was enrolled there, said she recalls he studied the Quran in Arabic.
"At that time, I was not Barry's teacher, but he is still in my memory" claimed Tine, who is 80 years old.
The Kaltim Post said Obama's teacher, named Hendri, died.
"I remember that he studied 'mengaji (recitation of the Quran)," Tine said, according to an English translation by Loatze.
Mengaji, or the act of reading the Quran with its correct Arabic punctuation, is usually taught to more religious pupils and is not known as a secular study.
Also, Loatze documented the Indonesian daily Banjarmasin Post interviewed Rony Amir, an Obama classmate and Muslim, who described Obama as "previously quite religious in Islam."
"We previously often asked him to the prayer room close to the house. If he was wearing a sarong (waist fabric worn for religious or casual occasions) he looked funny," Amir said.
The Los Angeles Times, which sent a reporter to Jakarta, quoted Zulfin Adi, who identified himself as among Obama's closest childhood friends, stating the presidential candidate prayed in a mosque, something Obama's campaign claimed he never did.
"We prayed, but not really seriously, just following actions done by older people in the mosque. But as kids, we loved to meet our friends and went to the mosque together and played," said Adi.
Friday prayers
Aside from a new website to fight purported smears, Obama's official campaign site has a page titled "Obama has never been a Muslim, and is a committed Christian." The page states, "Obama never prayed in a mosque. He has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian who attends the United Church of Christ."
But the campaign changed its tune when it issued a "practicing Muslim" clarification to the Los Angeles Times.
An article in March by the Chicago Tribune apparently disputes Adi's statements to the L.A. paper. The Tribune caught up with Obama's declared childhood friend, who now describes himself as only knowing Obama for a few months in 1970 when his family moved to the neighborhood. Adi said he was unsure about his recollections of Obama.
But the Tribune found Obama did attend mosque.
"Interviews with dozens of former classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends show that Obama was not a regular practicing Muslim when he was in Indonesia," states the Tribune article.
It quotes the presidential candidate's former neighbors and third-grade teacher recalling Obama "occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers."
Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum, notes the Tribune article "cited by liberal blogs as refuting claims Obama is Muslim" actually implies Obama was an irregularly practicing Muslim and twice confirms Obama attended mosque services.
In a free-ranging interview with the New York Times, Obama described the Muslim call to prayer as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset."
The Times' Nicholos Kristof wrote Obama recited, "with a first-class [Arabic] accent," the opening lines of the Muslim call to prayer.
The first few lines of the call to prayer state:
- Allah is Supreme!
- Allah is Supreme!
- Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
- I witness that there is no god but Allah
- I witness that there is no god but Allah
- I witness that Muhammad is his prophet ...
- Allah is Supreme!
Writing in a chapter of his book describing his 1992 wedding, the presidential candidate stated: "The person who made me proudest of all was Roy. Actually, now we call him Abongo, his Luo name, for two years ago he decided to reassert his African heritage. He converted to Islam and has sworn off pork and tobacco and alcohol."
Still, Obama says he was raised by his Christian mother and repeatedly has labeled as "smears" several reports attempting to paint him as a Muslim.
"Let's make clear what the facts are: I am a Christian. I have been sworn in with a Bible. I pledge allegiance [to the American flag] and lead the Pledge of Allegiance sometimes in the United States Senate when I'm presiding," he told the Times of London earlier this year.

(IsraelNN.com) Chairman Ophir Paz-Pines of the Knesset Internal Affairs Committee said on Friday that canceling the Akko Alternative Theater festival because of rioting in the city on Yom Kippur was a mistake. During a radio interview, the Labor lawmaker said the festival had become an "impressive symbol of coexistence in Acre." He added, "I recommend not giving in to violence, violent people or extremists, and that the Akko festival should take place this year despite the violence and maybe even because of it,"
Meretz faction head Zehava Gan-On echoed Paz-Pines's call, saying "The festival must go ahead in order to send out a message to extremists, both Jews and Arabs that they cannot dictate the city's routine. It is a big test for police to ensure that the democratic rule of law prevails." She added that the "rabble should not be given veto power."

Ms. Samantha Power, Barack Hussein Obama's Key foreign policy aide actually is calling for a U.S. Military invasion of Israel on behalf of the "Palestinians". She is speaking of allocating billions of dollars for a serious force, unlike the insignificant force that was sent to Rwanda, she wants a "mammoth force" to help establish a Palestine and to protect the poor "Palestinians". From where will Power and Obama get the funds? Ms. Power has an answer for that too – once U.S. stops financing the Israeli war machine with billions of U.S. tax payer dollars, there will be the necessary seed money to sponsor the invasion of Israel.

Power, born in Dublin in 1970, moved to the United States with her mother aged nine.
After being educated in state schools in Pittsburgh and Georgia, she gained entry to the prestigious Yale University, where she studied history. The self-deprecating Ms Power said this changed her life and opened many doors.
She worked as freelance journalist in Bosnia, after teaching herself the language in Croatia. Her only other journalism experience prior to that was covering the Yale women's volleyball team.
After graduating from Harvard Law School, she became an executive director and founder of the Carr Centre for Human Rights Policy at Harvard.
The 37-year-old already has one Pulitzer Prize behind her, for her book A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide and she is in the UK and Ireland to plug her new book, Chasing the Flame: Sergio Vieira de Mello and the Fight to Save the World.
Ms Power was head-hunted by Barack Obama to become his foreign-policy adviser in 2005 and combines this role with her job as a Time magazine columnist and professor of practice of global leadership and public policy at Harvard.

This rabid Jew-hater makes Obama's Hamas and Farrakhan supporting pastors and terrorist friends seem moderate. After hearing this hate-monger speak about a U.S. invasion of Israel, the Haftarah portion we will soon read on Sukkot, (which speaks of the war of Gog and the world converging on Jerusalem, in the end of days), seems so very real indeed (Yehezkel 38).
It is a shame that Ms. Power and Obama's pastors do not remember their Bible classes. They have learned the beginning of chapter 38 in Yehezkel well. Yes, the world comes to invade Jerusalem, however the end of this invasion is not pretty for the sons of Esav and Ishmael, who join forces against the Jews and their G-d, and who suffer a devastating blow. It is then when the world will see the greatness of the G-d of Israel. I strongly recommend against such an invasion, however, the G-d of Israel is ready even for Samantha Power and Barack Hussein Obama.
As for the Jews, who continue to watch with apathy the U.S. economy unravel and the rise of a modern day Hitler, what are you waiting for. Get out, while you can, sell your property for what you can still get for it, and come home to Israel. One need not wait for the fulfillment of all of the words of all of the prophecies before acting to save one's self and family. Should Ms. Power have the influence to bring U.S. troops into a situation of direct conflict with Israeli troops, American Jews will be in grave danger. Should the economic situation continue to worsen, everybody knows the Jew will be the primary scapegoat.

(IsraelNN.com) Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer surprised the markets late Tuesday afternoon with an unexpected lowering of the interest rate, from 4.25% to 3.75%. Economic experts praised the move.
The next interest change had not been expected until Oct. 27, or almost three weeks away. The change which will take effect on Sunday, Oct. 12, after the Yom Kippur break.
The Bank of Israel provided three reasons for the decision: The expected drop in inflation, the continued drop in the price of goods around the world, and the forecasted slowdown in domestic economic growth.
More specifically, Globes reports that the decision to lower the interest was made in light of the sharply rising uncertainty in the world financial markets and the ramifications upon Israel's markets. The lowered interest will enable the market to better deal with the challenges now facing it, Bank of Israel officials explain, as it increases liquidity and supports market stability and growth.
The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) and other economic indicators responded positively. Shortly after the announcement, the TASE was up some 3.6% and the Tel-Tech 15 was rising by over 4.8%. The dollar continues its climb and is now at 3.5225 shekels, 2 agorot more than the exchange rate set less than an hour earlier, and the euro is 4.824, 5 agorot higher than the official exchange rate.
Yossi Frank, Chairman of Energy Finances in Israel, predicted this morning that the Bank of Israel would lower the interest rate in a column he wrote for Globes. Afterwards, he said, "Lowering the interest provides direction, and shows that Israel's central bank is ready to fight in the foreign currency market and also vis-a-vis the financial crisis. Until now, Israel's top financial echelon settled for declarations that all is OK and stable - but action was needed."
Dollar Purchases
The Bank of Israel also announced this morning (Tuesday) that it may continue its dollar purchasing program even after Israel's foreign currency reserves reach the original target level, if circumstances warrant.
A decision by Fischer several months ago to purchase first $25 million a day, then $100 million a day, has been credited with stopping the dollar's downward climb compared with the Israeli shekel. Just last week, he said he has no intention of continuing this policy after Israel's dollar reserves hit $40 billion - but added, "A Central Bank never says never, however."

Normally, of course, the police place heavy restrictions on the numbers of those allowed up on the Mount, the most sacred site in the world for Jews....

Land of Israel in Galilee Becoming Land of Arabs
(IsraelNN.com) Three Jewish families in the Lower Galilee are set to sell their land to Arabs unless Zionists can come up with the money and offer a better deal. Israel Land Fund official Aryeh King said that the land involves 12 acres (50 dunam) of farmland at Moshav Ilaniya, located in a picturesque rural area near Kfar Tabor and between the Jordan Valley and the Mediterranean Coast.
"The Jewish families found the easiest way to make money and did not offer it to fellow Jews or to the state of Israel," said King, who was the first Jewish resident in the 1990s in the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Ras al Amoud.
He said that the Arab Lawyers Organization Adalah intends to buy the land for 6,000 shekels ($1,700) an acre. The names of the Jewish families have been kept secret but will be made known if Jewish buyers can offer them more money.
Adalah activists have been involved with demanding that the Jewish National Fund sell land to Arabs and tried convince the Civil Lands Administration to overturn decision preventing Arab citizens from bequeathing their rights to state land to overseas family members who do not hold Israeli citizenship
King called on Likud Knesset whip Gidon Saar to push for Knesset legislation that would bar the sale of land to Arabs without allowing the State of Israel the opportunity to purchase it and keep the property in Jewish hands.
Statistics usually represent the Galilee as 50 percent Jewish and 50 percent Arab, but the figures include the Haifa metropolitan area, which accounts for most of the Jews.
The Lower Galilee, named because of its relative altitude when compared with the hills and mountains in the Tzfat area to the north, includes primarily rural farmland outside of the cities of Beit Shean and Afula and Arab cities and villages.
Kibbutzim and moshavim abound in the area, which once was plagued by malaria until pioneering Zionists and the Jewish National Fund drained mosquito-infested swamps.

Reuters By Wayne Cole, Leika Kihara and Marc Jones SYDNEY/TOKYO/FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Australia stunned markets with its steepest interest cut in 16 years on Tuesday sparking belief among that investors that major global central banks could now choreograph a coordinated set of rate cuts.
Only the Bank of Japan bucked the trend, signaling it may not join any campaign of rate cuts to contain the raging crisis which has put the world's financial system in greater peril than at any time since the 1930s Great Depression. "I think it is important to coordinate in everything," said ECB policy maker and head of the Spanish central bank Miguel Angel Fernandez Ordonez. "Now the problem is global, it is important to coordinate in absolutely everything." However, he went on to say that any cuts should take account of inflation risks and not be merely a knee-jerk reaction to the ongoing market havoc. That did nothing to silence the clamor. Influential investor Bill Gross, who runs the world's biggest bond fund, urged the U.S. Federal Reserve to follow Australia's lead and slash rates by a full percentage point now the inflation threat has receded. "We are experiencing asset deflation and the threat of headline inflation is long past," Gross, chief investment officer of U.S.-based Pacific Investment Management Co., said in a note that called for a "globally coordinated policy rate cut." Indeed, Citi analysts said the banking crisis, falling asset prices and volatile markets may provide the justification for emergency rate cuts by the European Central Bank (ECB) and the Bank of England (BoE) in coming hours. "There seems a growing chance of emergency ECB and BoE easing in the next few days, perhaps even today -- especially if the U.S. Fed is also ready to move," they said in a research note. Australia's bigger-than-expected cut may have effectively fired the starting pistol in a run of rate cuts, suggested Suresh Kumar Ramanathan, head of strategy at CIMB Bank in Kuala Lumpur. "It looks to me that the RBA's rate cut was no fluke... the rest of the global central banks may have had a teleconference to up the rate cut story. Bottomline, it's a strong signal to the market that unified action will come after all," he said. "I think rates will happen in a parallel fashion but probably not in a coordinated way," said Tullett Prebon economist Lena Komileva in London. FED CUT Investors expect the BoE to cut rates at its policy meeting this week and are pricing in cuts from the Federal Reserve and the ECB. "Reducing interest rates is no longer excluded," said ECB policy maker Guy Quaden in comments backing up what President Jean-Claude Trichet said last week. Fed fund futures have priced in a probability of a 75 basis-point cut by the U.S. central bank this month and traders see a 100 percent chance of an ECB rate cut in November and 70 percent chance it could be as much as 50 basis points. Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas President Richard Fisher, considered an inflation hawk, said capital markets were in "semi-panic." "What I'm more worried about is how dysfunctional the system has become and what we, as the lender of last resort, need to do to encourage the liquidity to flow," he said. Australia's central bank Governor Glenn Stevens said the RBA's unusually large rate cut was justified by a severe deterioration in the outlook for global growth, combined with a sharp rise in funding costs for banks. ECB's Trichet signaled last week the bank was warming to the idea of lower rates when "contracting domestic demand and tighter financing conditions." Among the world's largest central banks, the Bank of Japan struck the only discordant note. "Policy coordination that would involve measures unsuitable for each nation's economic and price conditions would be undesirable," Governor Masaaki Shirakawa said at a news conference after leaving rates on hold at 0.5 percent. With its interest rates closer to zero than any other central bank in the Group of Seven rich nations, the BOJ could lose room for maneuver by cutting interest rates too early. Japan's banking system has been largely spared the financial carnage triggered last year by a meltdown in the U.S. mortgage market that is now forcing Washington and European governments to either bail out banks or allow them to collapse. The BOJ has joined the Fed and other central banks in the industrialized world in pouring cash into money markets to prod banks into lending to each other again after a freeze triggered by U.S. bank failures. MARKET STRAIN Those operations have done relatively little to bring down the cost of borrowing dollars. In London three-month dollar and euro funding on the interbank market, which now extends over the illiquid year-end holiday period, remained substantially higher than anticipated official interest rates, a key measure of financial market stress. The interbank cost of borrowing overnight dollars (Libor) jumped over 150 basis points on Tuesday while in euro markets Euribor rates scaled new multi year peaks. The spread of three-month London interbank offered rates over OIS rates for dollars was 294 basis points, with euros at 154 basis points and sterling at 190 basis points. Earlier in the day overnight dollar deposit rates were indicated around 2.5 percent, fairly close to the Federal Reserve's 2 percent target rate. UPDATE 1-US Mint halts some American Eagle coin production

NEW YORK, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Unprecedented demand for precious metals and volatile markets forced the U.S. Mint to cease production for the half-ounce and quarter-ounce popular American Eagle gold coins for the rest of this year and to supply other bullion coins on an allocation basis.
"Due to the extreme fluctuating market conditions for 2008, as well as current market conditions, gold and silver demand is unprecedented and the demand for platinum is unusually high," the U.S. Mint said Monday in a memorandum to its authorized coin dealers.
"The U.S. Mint has worked diligently to attempt to meet demand, however, blank supplies are very limited and it is necessary for the U.S. Mint to focus remaining bullion production primarily on American Eagle Gold one-ounce and Silver one-ounce coins," the Mint said.
The Mint said it would continue to supply one-ounce American Eagle gold coins and one-ounce American Eagle silver coins on an allocation basis to coin dealers.
For half-ounce and quarter-ounce American Eagles, the Mint said that inventory was depleted last week and no more coins would be produced for the rest of 2008.
In addition, the Mint said it would produce 1-10th ounce Eagles based on current coin blank supplies, but would cease production for the rest of this year once the remaining inventory was depleted.
Produced from gold mined in the United States, the 22-karat American Eagles have been novel items among collectors and investors since their introduction in 1986. Each coin has a face value of $50 but it is sold by authorized dealers at a premium to the price of gold.
AMERICAN BUFFALO, AMERICAN EAGLE PLATINUM
The Mint said it would continue to supply 24-karat American Buffalo one-ounce gold coins based on current blank supplies, but would halt production once the remaining inventory was out.
The Mint had suspended sales of the Buffalos in late September due to strong demand and inventory depletion.
Similarly, the Mint said that all denominations for American Eagle platinum bullion coins were depleted last week, and it would halt production for the rest of the year once the remaining inventory was depleted.
Coin dealers from the United States to Canada have recently reported a surge in buying of bullion coins.
Gold has soared as much as $200 in the last 30 days as panic investors flocked to gold as a worsening global financial crisis prompted people to seek a safe haven.
Spot gold <XAU=> traded at about $884 an ounce on Tuesday, while the gold contract for December delivery GCZ8 on the COMEX division of the New York Stock Exchange was at $886 an ounce. (Reporting by Frank Tang; editing by Jim Marshall)
