Billionaire Levayev: Put Olmert on Trial

(IsraelNN.com) Billionaire Lev Levayev told a Hebrew newspaper that when Prime Minister Ehud Olmert finishes his term, "Investigate him and try him--he is not running away anywhere." The former Russian, who recently relocated from Israel to England, also told the Haaretz newspaper in an interview to be published on Friday, that the Prime Minister Olmert is betraying Jews by preparing to negotiate over the status of Jerusalem.

Levayev also blamed Israeli society for importing "the new American religion" at the expense of Judaism. He said that a sign of Zionism's going bankrupt is a growing identification of Yom Kippur with the 1973 war or riding a bicycle.
